actually, they're cunning. they don't' have to spend money on promotion. if it's aired the same time as CP6, let Tencent do their promotions and fans will watch both dramas.

maybe I'm making too much out of it, but now if I search on Sword and Fairy, I'll find both Sword and Fairy 4 and 6, whereas before it was called Chinese Paladin 4, then people searching Sword and Fairy would not find Chinese Paladin 4, and vice versa.

Oh I get it. I looked up each Chinese Character for Chinese Paladin (pinyin: Xian Jian Qi Xia Zhuan) translates to Legend of Sword and Fairy. Actually, the first character is Fairy, the second is Sword, the next two together means something about heroes, and last character refers to legend.

the translation of fairy is not like American fairies with their magic wands. It is more along the lines of Greek Mythology or powerful beings.

why don't Sword and Fairy keep the 6 to be consistent with Sword and Fairy 4.

this rivalry between CP4 and CP6 was done on purpose to create more buzz among fans. Releasing CP4 right before CP6 is like free promotion, because now people will watch both of them. I thought I read somewhere that there is a third CP drama this year.

The Chinese characters for their names means:
Cross + Pray = Yue Qi (so her name is Pray)
Cross + Right Now + Today = Yue Jin Chao (his name is Now)
Flat + Network + Huan = Bian Luo Huan

Cross as in travel. Network must mean that Bian Luo Huan is the gateway or paths to their destination or to solve their identities?

What you said was perfectly fine. I am new to Chinese Paladin. Now that Xu Kai has made a CP drama, I'm looking back at CP1 from 2005 and checking out the game, so it's natural to compare. I judge CP1 and CP6 separately on its own merits because the actors are different, the dramas were made 19 years apart. But there is a spirit that I hope CP6 can capture from CP1 and the game. From today's trailers, I think they may have managed to capture that spirit. I can't help but noticed that Hu Ge makes this smirk that I have seen Xu Kai make almost exactly the same way, but not sure if he will put that into his character.
