I didn't put anyone down. I just simply say this actress is amazing. and her beauty, grace, and acting is above everyone else. The movie just wouldn't' be the same without her. It is okay to be stricken by her beauty and talent. I love her movements; she was a professional dancer, so she has great form and graceful. She is now 36, she must have been even prettier when she was younger.

Her acting is mesmerizing and makes you keep looking at her because her passion and expressions are so deep and profound, you can feel her emotions. All I know is every scene, I just see her acting because it shines. She deserves a nomination for best actress.

what I mean is that she is the most valuable person in the movie. She is not replaceable, without her, the movie would not be the same. Others are replaceable, but not her. In that context, she does carry the movie. She is on a different level. When I watch the movie, I see a stark contrast between her acting and everyone else in the movie. I admire her very much.

The scene in ep. 18 where Li Ni and Ying bid farewell, followed by Li Ni proposing to Ying on his horse, is one that I can watch repeatedly. During the shooting, Li Ni’s horse was acting up, and the crew had to calm it down. The scene showed Xu Kai’s face, which made it clear that he was the one who rode gallantly away at a fast pace. 🐎💨 Xu Kai’s performance was so immersive that he went off script and just did his own thing, becoming Li Ni in the process. The way LI Ni looked at Ying so intently, you'd think his heart will explode if he doesn't leave soon. Xu Kai sense of timing in this scene is perfection, creating the mood at exactly the right time. I love this scene, except for LCF having attacks and spitting blood.

the female lead is an exceptional actress. Her expressions and emotions are captivating in passionate, emotional scenes. She is very beautiful and graceful and has this aura about her the way she moves and talks, goddess like, strong, commanding, courageous, bold, seductive, feminine, soft.

He also fell off the horse in WoL but did not suffer injury which scared everyone on the set. Those horses were imported, are tall and fierce and given some of the terrain for shooting, it is quite dangerous. Xu Kai loves riding and is skilled at it but it happens. I'm sure over time, all the physical efforts he puts into his costume dramas will accumulate injuries to him. I probably enjoyed his movies for the reason that I found his physical and fighting scenes to be more realistic and interesting than other actors. In WoL episode 1, he threw the stick aside with such speed and force. It didn't look like special effect to speed it up or stunts which makes is more interesting to watch, just like when he bent the bow behind his back, the way he came of the horse and did that, most dramas, the actors don't go to that length to do these things. The director usually asks them to do a step or two only and leave the rest to special effects or stunts. His appeal to me is that he comes across like a regular guy, what guys like to do, which also gives him the aura of a young warrior or prince. He does not do these physical activities outside of shooting a movie, so I find it rather remarkable of him to be able to handle it when he needs to, as he s by no means a professional or expert at martial arts, not by far, but yet he can put in such effort for his audience.

Not understanding Mandarin slows down the time to finish these movies. If something important is being said and the translation does not reflect the true meaning, it can have a big impact.

Her loyalty to her father rises above her love to Li Ni. She's always been able to separate love from her goals and where her loyalty lies. Neither of them has ever wavered from their values. Neither of them was ever willing to give up their values for love. Li Ni has never let her manipulate him to become crown prince. I'm still at episode 27, but in a teaser, I saw that he finally came to terms with becoming crown prince. There was a scene that he asked her if she would promise him something (related to their conflict of him becoming crown prince) and she said not even ten thousand fireflies will she promise him. They have always been very frank with each other.

She herself once said that life is like a game of chess, implying that there must be a reason for everything. Even if Li Ni is not the crown prince, he is still a prince and a Lord, his marriage to Ying, the commander of the elite army, would still pose a threat to those in power since he carries royal bloodline and his impressive war achievements intimidate them. Ying, being intuitive, foresees this, even if Li Ni moved back to Laolan Pass but she feels that he cannot, even Pei Yuan told Li Ni, he cannot go back. On the other hand, Li Ni, being logical, meticulously plans and waits for things to unfold instead of acting rashly. He never doubts that he can return to his beloved Wonderland, he will not let his dream die. I doubt that those who lust for power would ever allow him to go back to Laolan Pass to keep an eye on him. Li Ni is trying to balance his honor with his own desires of his heart. Ying just wants him to survive. She was willing to not interfere and let him learn on his own but was forced to get involved since Cui family became a target. Her involvement upsets Li Ni's plans and creates more conflict and tension between them. The one thing that LI Ni feared the most is to fight Ying on the battlefield.

On Nov 27, watching 8.79 and completed 8.27, which didn't make sense. Completed should be about the same or even higher. It took 4 weeks to reverse the trend. Now, watching 8.67 and completed 8.72. I think 8.7 is more accurate reflection of WoL.

I'm wondering why Ying did not anticipate that if Li Ni becomes crown prince and marries her, the Cui army becomes a conflict of interest for the court. I wonder why Li Ni who understands the situation did not tell her this. Li Ni may have an advantage in internal political affairs and protocols due to growing up in the palace, unlike Ying.”

Li Ni and his father have a strained father son relationship since he was a kid. No matter how accomplished Li Ni is as an adult, his father cannot seem to change his impression of him because there is a lack of emotional connection and mutual understanding between them. Unfortunately, the father lacks intelligence and wisdom, and is unable to make sound judgments, trusts LI Ni's brothers and others, but not Li Ni.

The father and two brothers are so entertaining. I enjoy every scene they are in. Their expressions are so good and fits the characters they play with perfection.

this movie is the stuff of Shakespeare's level of love, romance, wit, humor, tragedy, and human emotions. Despite the tragedies, all's well that ends well.

I think Xu Kai can play mean role one day whenever he does. Remember how mean he was to the second female lead in AMA? She sent thugs to ruffle him up, then he encounter's her and starts to harass, bully, and humiliate her. He made harassing charming.

it doesn't matter, audience cannot distinguish. they think the leads are doing the martial arts and are loving the choreography and all. The fl is a professional dancer from Beijing dance academy. She has beautiful form and very graceful.

yes, I was able to distinguish between Bai Jue and Qing Mu very clearly even though they looked exactly the same. I was so sad Qing Mu and Shanggu did not even get a year (or thousand years) together because she was exiled. Their love for each other tugs at your heart and his love letter he left her at his memorial is truly sweet and heartbreaking and if you don't cry for them, are you even human? I'll never forget Qing Mu said to Bai Jue, "don't hurt her" (Xu Kai expression) as he basically died and merged back into Bai Jue. Zhou Dong Yu is an amazing passionate actress. The second ml was amazing too, so much chemistry between the three of them.

His acting is a reflection of his innermost being. It reveals the depth of emotions that he possesses and the passion that drives him. To act with such intensity, one must be unafraid to be vulnerable and true to oneself.
