I guess there's one Xu Kai drama I'm not going to be very excited about. I really hoped he would not do this drama,…
For me, I don't want to miss his characters. It's like a collection, I want to collect all his characters, if I can. . I am into Xu Kai's nuanced acting and the unique characters he brings to life, so I watch his dramas. I'm fascinated by how he portrays so many different characters, each so unique. It's his magnetic acting that draws me to his dramas.
He's not a cat demon per se. He has the blood of cat clan he inherited through his father the former Cat Lord. Wu Zhen received the powers of the former Cat Lord but she does not have blood of Cat Clan.
Translation okeydokey: Dunno, maybe I haven’t moved on from LOTFG or something, but when I saw Xukai’s photos, he actually looked like Chenglei right 😭🙏🏻 rewoorth: Haha really? Maybe it’s just an illusion, bro. By the way, this is the first time I’ve met another Indonesian here. okeydokey: Hehe yeah, maybe they rarely show up or some use English like everyone else. rewoorth: @okeydokey Yeah, true. This is an international app, so it makes sense everyone uses English so people can understand. But it’s rare to find full Indonesian comments. Actually, I first found MyDramaList because of MAL/MyAnimeList. Kinda a long journey—from being a weeb (Japanese anime) to a drachinlover (Chinese drama lover). okeydokey: @rewoorth 😭😭 So MAL is like MDL but for anime? Just found out that exists, bro. By the way, what made you start liking drachin (Chinese drama)? rewoorth: @okeydokey Got swept up in the wrong current and ended up watching animek. Now I’m not interested anymore since I’m not a weeb, but I still have favorite anime. I’m a flexible person who loves all kinds of stuff, so I just went ahead and watched drachin even though it was something new. If I’m not mistaken, the first drachin I watched starred Zhao Lusi. okeydokey: @rewoorth Wrong current, huh 🤣🤣🤣 Hey, is Naruto considered animek or not? That Japanese cartoon series was the only one I watched, and only when I was a kid 😃 Ohh okay okay, got it… wow, so the first Chinese actress you’re a fan of is Lusi, yeah? rewoorth: @okeydokey Cartoons back then were really fun, right? Yeah, Naruto counts as animek. So you don’t wanna try others? By the way, what are we even chatting about here—people are probably watching us talk AHAHA
This year with moonlit reunion airing, I noticed a whole different level of "outsourced" MDL trolling, of course, only Xu Kai gets the special treatment. After the Aug slandering and black marketing, I bet it's connected. They're just going to have to wait with the rest of us for his other two dramas to drop to make more money trolling xu kai dramas.
@KM0704, Why are you always trying to drive people away from Xu Kai? Are you in China to really know the situation…
thanks. here's the translation what you posted; “Do you hope people remember you, or remember your character?” He replied, “I hope they remember the character first, and then remember me.” (Madame Figaro, February 2021).
My memory was that he hopes people remember him by the characters he's played. The emphasis was on the characters he's played, not "remember the character first." He's done so many interviews. This may not be the one. If it is, then the translation was different.
Unfortunately, it looks like all these defamation scams that the bad people did to Xu Kai had somewhat suceeded…
You can't be comparing Xu Kai situation to Leo Wu! Leo Wu comes from an entirely different background. The guy has enough money at 17 to start his own studio. The fact that he's 25 yrs old and has been acting for 23 yrs of his life, graduated from Beijing Film Academy and still needed to take more acting lessons doesn't show raw talent. He should have developed his own style by now. Xu Kai on the other hand he may not have Beijing Film Academy, but he has more like "street smarts" kind of thinking about what kind of acing style he wants. I recall Xu Kai once said he watches a lot of different kinds of movies (not just Chinese), you'd be surprised the stuff he watches, and he reads those Chicken Soup for the soul books .. he says that helps him think about ways to act. Like Qin Lan said, even with zero experience, Xu Kai has his own ideas.

How is Xu Kai even an "idol?" He's just an actor. Of all the actors out there, he's the least "traffic idol" of any Chinese actors. There are Weibo rankings, and he does not even show up. You'd think a traffic idol would at least show up in the top 50 most searched in China internet searches. He's low-key for a high-profile celebrity. He's just someone not intentionally driving buzz or hype. I know that is part of the game to get better roles, but Xu Kai is just being true to himself, this is who he is, he just wants to act. There's a short video clip of him back in 2018 after he became famous, they asked him will he now become an idol actor (something like that) and he shook his head and said no, not idol.

LYN is a typical idol singer/actor who uses a lot of paid marketing promotions because he understands the entertainment industry how to navigate it. He also has his difficult journey into singing and acting but he's a professional singer before he got into acting. Xu Kai journey is so unique. He didn't even get to finish college. While others have parental financial support until they are done with school and can work, Xu Kai didn't have that. I just think he's an amazing person with looks and lot of raw talent, great personality, and so humble. He just needs right roles to showcase it. He's truly remarkable what he has down with none of the stuff that others employ. Unfortunately, he's made the most of what he can with what he gets with his agency who favors other actors over him.

I saw an interview for Story of Yanxi Palace and Qin Lan praised Xu Kai she said he has his own ideas. It wasn't a standard kind of praise one would say. I can tell she was describing a detail about her observation of him.
