Yes, I do think Korean dramas have struggled to cast good "foreign" actors. And the way the interspersed the color commentary from the VIPs during the 5th game and especially the final game really took focus away from the main characters. There was no need. I think having them ominously watching without saying anything would've even been much more unsettling and disturbing.

And it was the entrance of the VIPs. Not so much the concept of VIPs gambling over human lives, but the execution. The contrived English lines and horrible voice acting was so cringeworthy and really took me out of everything else that was happening. It was like a jarring (not in a good way) distraction. Would've been better to have kept their mouths shut.

I think one thing threatened to derail the series the most...

There must be a Director's Cut, alternate ending version because it really feels like they wanted to "go there" but couldn't just because of TV restrictions/expectations lol Ugh!

Is there something there open to interpretation? I kind of want to believe so just to make sense of the very contrived ending.

Did he really change though? We have no idea.

There was zero character growth from JE. We don't understand why he is the way he is other than "Oh, he's hot, so it's to be expected that he gets a lot of p---y." They even say exactly that in-series.

I feel like they threw in that specific "moment" in order to justify the ending they wanted. As if it that makes up for 10 episodes of no character growth that absolutely does not support that ending.

What's even more interesting is they modified the source material and basically transferred the plot to our main character, yet didn't follow through with the ending they were obviously heading toward. It's very strange.

Honestly, it wasn't even just a "hint." I think they were pretty direct in showing that there were romantic feelings between the two all series all the way to the end of the final episode. Which is why I'm so confused as to why they intentionally included all that direct and overt implication and not just "go there." It's like they reach the finish line and decided to just not cross it at the end of the race.

I still recommend you watch it though. The relationship between the two male leads is still wonderful to watch grow through the series.

This is a great drama. A mature, slice of life and coming of age drama. Definitely refreshing from the other recent school-centered dramas that are much fluffier overall.

Obviously, there was an opportunity to do something completely out of the box (for Korean television) with the two male leads. All the pieces were there. Not just their amazing chemistry, but IN THE WRITING itself. Nonetheless, it was still a wonderful series.

Anyone know the name of that product Yeo Joon uses on his face, like under his eyes and stuff? He let Soo Hyun use it once too. I assume it's a product Park Ji Hoon endorses, but I don't know what it is. =)

They're not going to read it. People who judge someone else without even knowing all the facts never admit they might have been too fast to condemn someone . It's happened many times before in the Korean entertainment industry.

He never admitted to sexually assaulting anyone. Get your facts straight.

I'm both happy and sad about the news today. Happy that the accusations were false. But sad that someone would actually go that far as to make up lies to destroy someone else's life like that. Even more disgusting are the people who rush to judgement without knowing all the facts AND refusing to admit they were wrong to jump the gun even after knowing more information.

I'm just hoping Ji Soo has good support around him, that he is healthy (especially emotionally) and he has learned from any mistakes he's made in the past. Just hoping for peace for him and anyone else involved.
