You can enjoy a show if it involves violence or this or that but what differentiates that is enjoying what is depicted. Enjoying a show with rape in it is not bad but enjoying the rape in a show or enjoying the show solely on the fact that it has rape in it is wrong. If someone gets raped and someone depicts it in a show and glorifies it and makes it seem fine that is disrespectful to the people who are rape victims in real life. I suffer with bpd i would be upset if someone mocked people with bpd in a show even if the show is fiction because having bpd is something i struggle with. If someone said "I love bpd i love watching people with bpd suffer" id be upset. Some people do. Like i said we are influenced by our environment and that is something scientifically proven. If you watch something over and over again that is seen in society as wrong but your getting a flow of information telling you its not your going to start believing its not wrong. Some people are fucking stupid, its rude to say but its true. There wouldnt be fans of jinx who say "Yeah getting taken advantage of and ass raped is soooo hot i love seeing impoverished people forced to sell their body to stay afloat" if there wernt some stupid fucks populating earth. Don't believe me read the comments on a chapter where a character is actually raped. Fantasy is a mirror of reality. Every aspect of fantasy comes from the mind of a person who lives in the real world. You are comparing your hardships to something else. Having a bl that depicts a happy couple is not homophobic or unjust to those who are shunned for being gay. Because they never depicted someone being shunned for being gay. Bl's where rape is present dot dot dot depict rape. Do you see where im going with this? Watching a man get raped in his ass while you smile with joy and throw popcorn is not light entertainment it is your ignorance. Excuse me for my vulgarity but i think it makes my message clearer. In short, simply dont.

Fiction reflects reality in a sense but fiction is also meant to be escape from reality. When you depict violent rapes in fiction the excuse that it's fiction or that you can simply not watch it doesn't apply because it is a real world problem being portrayed in fiction. In movies that portray violence like Indiana jones there's always a message to take away from it which is that violence is wrong and people who do it will be punished by the hero's. When you portray a real world problem even in a fictional setting and don't say that it's wrong or try and signal it is and even go as far to make rape into romance that is a sick twisted version of fiction. If you have a rape kink admit that but don't excuse fictional rape and sexual assault by saying your ignore something morally wrong if you saw it.

I hate when people try to justify their enjoyment of content made to fetishize horrible acts. Saying "Just dont watch it" is like saying if you came across a website that had manga or anime with child pornography drawn out or animated its not bad because you can just choose to ignore it. You saying you would ignore something morally unjust if you saw it just highlights your character in a way that doesnt do you justice. I've seen this with dangerous drugs of sex, killing stalking, jinx, love syndrome, and many other gay(specifically gay men) pieces of media specifically targeted to an audience of straight women. People in the comments try and justify their enjoyment of psychological torment, rape, emotional abuse, and sexual assault by saying that they would simply ignore a show or manga they dislike and i think that is a privileged point of view one where you dont have to consider the fact that creators make content about rape that fetishizes or romanticizes it and then real life people who are rape victims see people enjoying this content that basically makes a mockery of their trauma by making it seem like "love". In many stories the rapist turns into some fun loving silly guy and the raped turns into some submissive and "Breedable" person who never has any say in situations for example; jinx. I read a couple chapters as it first came out and i was sickened to say the least. The fact that people in the comments were going crazy for it while a young man was being exploited, raped, and forced to have sex with someone because he couldnt afford his grandmothers medical bills. I think sometimes people forget that real people are victims of the very things they love to consume in a positive light and i hope one day they realize by ignoring others misfortune they will inevitably become a sympathizer and maybe even support the actions of a rapist or a manipulator or a bad person because you are consuming media raising a bad person on a pedestal constantly and you find no problems with it. Most people here have already reached the point of denying their wrong doings. Ik this is a long one but yk like some of yall need to get a grip on reality and realize that if it cant be said in real life you prob shouldnt say it on the internet. (this is the same post i posted on killing stalking so if some things dont 100% apply to this in particular that is why)

My take on this is that your mindset is flawed. In saying fiction can do no wrong even when depicting a romanticized version of rape is like saying that watching a movie about raping babies isnt bad to watch even when it shows depictions of the rape. Fiction is an altered version of reality and even fiction has reality in it. Killing dragons in a movie isnt as bad because dragons arnt real. Depicting rape in a movie is not too fine and dandy because there are real victims of rape who see a romanticized version of their pain and suffering being watched and enjoyed by someone who may not have been raped or a victim of sexual violence. Again this is my take meaning this is my opinion and im not saying your wrong im just saying this is my opinion.

This is not charged at anyone nor am i shaming those who wanna watch this. This is my opinion on why we should not watch this movie and fund the making of movies that romanticize or even excuse sexual misconduct and manipulation. Im going to reword the synopsis for those who cant understand it. "Basically itt was kidnapped and raped by Day for his plan against the Days little brother Night, the plan resulted in Night getting raped, Day recorded himself raping Itt and used it as blackmail. Whenever Itt offended Day he would beat the shit out of Itt and verbally abuse him. They started to have feeling for each other and Itt wanted Day to say he had feeling for him so he ran away with the help of Night and that made Day realize he liked Itt." Now sit here and tell me that this is not the most disgusting romanticization of rape. Tell me how falling for your captor and the man that raped you abused you verbally and physically is not the most blatant example Stockholm syndrome and also Lima syndrome. It may be fictitious but that is the same as saying "watch a fake depiction of a baby being killed its fine cus its fake and even if i enjoy watching fake babies being killed i have done no wrong because its not real." My argument is that whats seen is learned just as all school shooters were avid players of online shooting/killing games. Im not saying yall are gonna go around raping people but my point is that in watching something normalizing a crime under the premise that it is fake will make people think these things are a persons way of showing love or care. It can be harmful and supporting these things makes the creators more likely to make more. This is phenomenon i see mainly in shows or movies involving queer men and i think that is because straight people(Something a large audience of these films and movies are) tend to fetishize these films depicting men being raped my other men. I see mainly women indulging in these films and i think we as a community(I myself am a queer women) need to identify people who are simply watching queer media(Whether it be lesbian or two men) to fetishize and i think we should stop making films that clearly depict someone who is queer doing something bad like rape and then having an audience of goons standing by and defending the actions in the movie. Again im not saying yall are mindless goons but im my opinion many watchers of the film do get a pleasure out of watching this and many even have rape kinks and i think we need to stop normalizing watching fictitious violence, sexual violence, and physical and emotional abuse without the intent of learning that it is wrong. I will reply to anyone responding who wants to have a conversation about this and who wants to say why they like or agree with films or shows like this and im open to opinions.

This show is literally so funny. I don't know why but i relate so heavily to fukuhara hes quite literally me. In the first episode where he laughs and just goes blank faced and in the second ep where he runs away laughing its literally just so me frlzies.

I'm in class rn but omg. I'm so excited I can't even put it into words. I just finished reading the webtoon that's out yesterday and I'm so hyped

They are super diff. The show covers a small part of the story that doesnt really have that big of a part other than it being Grays(Yeon Shi Eun) background. I wouldnt compare them but if you liked the show I'd recommend the Webtoon. It took me about 5 days to get through all 220+ chapters but im just a mentally ill person who read like 50 chapters a day so you might expect a longer read but if your okay with that then go ahead. But i'd say the show in my opinion is slightly better than the webtoon but maybe thats because its just a show and i dont have to understand all the complex shit thats in the webtoon.
