people born deaf and people who become deaf have different experiences…i do not think any character in this show thinks being deaf is a bad thing nor is that the message of the show. but given that the dad is someone who was involved in a band, it is stupid to pretend like becoming deaf didn’t affect that in a negative way for him

right it makes me wonder what it would be like if we had the ability to meet our parents’ younger selves
