I tried Band of Sisters right after finishing Come! Jang Bo Ri 3 months ago but got stuck in the beginning episodes,…
actually I had the same problem with Bo Ri, where I struggled with the first 4 eps but the rest of the drama was pretty addicting. I will have to give Sisters another try because of this.
This comment is so relatable. I dropped this drama for the reasons you mentioned.Like how does this even makes…
maybe they’re more used to/prefer watching the modern mainstream dramas which are airing nowadays. The 2nd k-drama I watched back in 2013 was a makjang one (East of Eden) but I didn’t even know of the term until many years later xD

I miss seeing makjang dramas too nowadays so I gotta watch daily dramas or lakorns for that lol. I tried lakorns last year because of Hua Jai Sila, the plot reminded me of makjang dramas! That was one of my crack dramas next to TLE xD

Agreed with both of you guys' comments. I also notice similar complaints about daily makjang dramas being draggy/repetitive and over the top acting from villains, meanwhile being rated lower on MDL.. yet I find them more addicting/entertaining than some popular hyped dramas nowadays. The other last 2019 makjang k-drama besides TLE I saw was Golden Garden, which was a weekend drama but the plot/cinematography/characters did resemble a daily drama except with only 60 eps instead of 100.
coming back to this drama just to say the plot/cinematography/characters actually reminds me of a daily drama except the episode length is halved. Plus this writer actually writes for daily dramas too. I was addicted to this drama because of the script/dialogues, like with some other low rated daily dramas I started watching them in late 2019.
Should I watch this ? From the comments I can't decide. I have never Finished any long dramas.
depends if you like watching makjang/melodramas.. this was the 2nd daily drama I watched while it was airing but it was an OK watch for me since I get addicted to these types of plots. I liked the background music and OSTs in this one, Confession - Lee Woo is a very nice song that I still like listening to even after the drama was over. The romance could've been better though it died down in the second half of this drama as it focused more on the revenge part. The MDL rating for this drama was actually higher when it was still airing. The negative comments are probably because people are more used to mainstream dramas, daily dramas are long so they tend to drag things out and someone complained about Park Hyung Rin being a bad actress (but villains are supposed to be over the top) or dull acting/chemistry (I shipped the main leads though)
the FL is so crazy/fun to watch lmao I'd imagine this is what Lee Bom (Spring Turns to Spring) might've been like if she had an evil side. ML is also amusing too even though I should be hating him. Ahn Nae Sang is also hilarious, I'm laughing at the same time whenever he and Kim Jung Eun are doing that evil laugh xD I was surprised by Jang Mi Kwan's appearance in this drama even though he was just some background character here, how does he manage to show up in every drama I get addicted to?! (yes, all 4 of them including that 104 episodes daily drama Fatal Promise)
I'm a picky watcher but I am enjoying this one (I get addicted to these types of plots lol) even the main opening theme music caught my attention xD The first 2 eps (which I watched 2 months ago) were exciting and felt kinda similar to TWOTM so I waited to binge this one, now I'm trying to catch up on the current episodes. I find it amusing watching the main leads and Ahn Nae Sang's characters.
This drama feels so low budget... They could have at least picked an attractive female lead..
this is the style of daily dramas, all of them look like this.. I actually put off watching them before because of this and the episode length but I still got addicted to some last year since I get hooked to makjangs. Looks are subjective, I don't find some mainstream/popular actresses pretty either but to each their own.
This writer caught my attention with Band of sisters a long drama i just saw one ep to start with and ended up…
I tried Band of Sisters right after finishing Come! Jang Bo Ri 3 months ago but got stuck in the beginning episodes, couldn't really get into the characters/plot even though I love makjangs, at what episodes does it get more interesting? Plus I couldn't get used to those few CJBR actors being in that drama since I was so used to their other characters xD
I feel like "death" should be listed as one of the major tags up there, especially when it is a revenge makjang drama (as expected from this writer's similar works) and I've seen a few other dramas with character death scenes in the very beginning of the first episode. I've already said this in response to someone else here but I'll copy/paste it again on my own comment:
Min Seol Ah's death may be considered as a spoiler/shock value to those who haven't seen the drama yet, but since it happens literally in the first 3 minutes I think the death tag should've been voted higher/bumped up as one of the important tags since it is the main driving force of this story and is inevitable people will be talking about later plot points related to it. Plus with them making season 2 they might even "spoil" the plot of season 1, I'd imagine something like "1 year later, Shim Soo Ryun is still grieving over her daughter's death and seeking revenge at those who wronged her" in the summary.
Wtf?????? Bro I didn't watch it and was planning to do so...u ruined it for me ugh please use spoiler tag next…
I get what you mean. No episode today, come on!!!! Koreans really love sports I guess
they left us hanging (literally) at the end of that episode xD of all the dramas they chose to replace it with *sigh* oh well am used to other dramas being replaced with sports before.
Guys! I heard this drama having 2 season...wtf in season 2 got 24 ep..?!? Suspend again? Really sucks if like…
yes I heard about this already on Soompi Forums before this started airing, it must be true then.. usually this writer's dramas are long anyways though.
it's all a matter of preference, like with someone else here advertising Start-up but I find it boring. I couldn't…
My point is they are 2 completely different shows/genres which are not even remotely similar to each other (unlike with SKY Castle or any other makjang dramas) the only thing that has any connection is that SSR used to be in the cast list for this drama but still this is The Penthouse discussion, not Kairos. They just want to brag about their favourite drama just because they couldn't get into this one (like with what I've noticed with 2 other users so far) and who says we can't be enjoying both dramas at the same time, why make us feel bad for enjoying just this drama and not Kairos too? If I want to watch something I will watch it on my own decision, don't need people showing off like one drama is better than the other..

They can advertise it on the Feeds or Forums, these types of comments have nothing to do with this drama discussion and the way they worded it in the first sentence sounded rude to me, especially as someone who loves to watch makjangs over other genres. I already ranted about this here in case you've read my other comment and few other people's who agreed with me. Yesterday I even saw someone else shamelessly advertising DDSSLS on The Tale of the Nine-tailed comment section meanwhile they rated that drama a 1/10 so who are they to tell other people to watch their favourite drama lmao these kind of comments actually put me off from watching a drama instead of liking them -_-
lol it took me over half a year to finish it since I didn't watch this all the time, should've just been 100 max.…
will agree with cringy lines since the subtitles for this drama were awkward/corny to read at times and I found Shin Joo Yeong's character cringy to watch. ML felt too optimistic/perky for someone who spent so much time in jail for someone else, like he even ran around the street while jumping (literally) in joy. But it was nice seeing Im Joo Hwan smiling a lot in this drama since his characters in some other dramas were more serious brooding types and he is rarely the ML in regular dramas. I actually liked the first half of this drama but later it felt like a drag to finish this (last arc with Lawyer Lee had more melodrama) I used to avoid daily dramas too because of the episode length and low budget-ness but then I got addicted to one of them last year, have completed 6 now including Ugly Alert and am watching 2 currently airing ones. I will only watch the makjang ones, they have that addictive factor to keep me watching such long dramas.
lol it took me over half a year to finish it since I didn't watch this all the time, should've just been 100 max. I ain't following another hype train over these slice of life shows again -_- I guess you saved your time skipping this one.
