LND is a 'slow burn' romance drama, since the start it has already been evidently shown with the storylines pacing and direction. With such, usually romantic relationships develop at latter episodes of the drama, it's called slow burn for a reason. So, we can't just expect the leads to be together that quickly, not even now when everything has just freshly been unraveled. It's not forced or rushed if they got together at latter episodes that is just how slow burn romance usually works, what would feel forced and rushed is if they got together right now in the midst of all they are currently going through. You need patience here.

Yes, I agree with you! so rather than a weak fl character, Seokryu actually is a strong fl character who has yet to learn that it is okay for her to be vulnerable, show her weakness and reach out to others. Healing season here we come!!!! I didn't expect my comments to be of help, but I am glad it helped you in some way, so thanks too!

I do think that Seokryu's rejection towards Seunghyo's feelings was quite brutal, but, if you try to keep an 'open perspective' and put yourself in her shoes, considering all the tough battles she had been through. I think you will have a better 'understanding' towards her actions and be able to empathize with her at some point. She is no way near 'selfish' but rather 'extremely selfless'. This is why although I believe in the saying that "hurt people, hurt people", I also believe that not all 'hurt people' truly intend to hurt those they care for or love. It might seem contradictory, but sometimes in life, all that people can do to protect those they care for or love is to use the method of pushing them away even if that is not what they truly want. Such method actually sucks, but yeah it happens in reality thus another saying that tells us how letting go of someone is also an actual form of love. Seokryu does 'care' and 'value' her relationship with Seunghyo just as much as he does, if you had noticed from the very start how she had always evidently shown her care towards him, even during his sickness. Like imagine spending almost all of your life with someone who you grew up with, it is simply not just about merely jumping into what your heart tells you to do, with the bond they both share, especially if they both value it so much, of course they would not easily be able to let their feelings bravely out in the open. Just as to how Seunghyo had so many failed attempts to confess his love to her during the past, because he values their bond so much and respect her life decisions, then now at present he learned that what he thought before about being considerate, caring and respecting her life decisions in the expense of putting his feelings away, and her first wasn't always the right thing to do. I believe Seokryu deserves some slack too, with regards to how she is currently dealing with all this, because the way I see it, she is just like Seunghyo before at some point. With the revelation of Seokryu's dark past, we were shown how wounded she is, and even if time had already passed since those struggles she went through, those wounds of hers are still there cut open and are yet to be mended. Her state of mind and heart is still in pain. Time doesn't heal wounds, she is the only one who could be able to heal herself. So, she really needs to heal first and I believe that this coming remaining episodes would be a healing journey. Her family and friends would surely help her with that. Also, along the process in my opinion, there is still possible room for their romance.

you should start watching c dramas ,the kisses happen in next seasonπŸ’€
cdrama trained me to be a tough soldier when it came to kissing scenes haha...I remember the days when their eps used to be up to 60, the kiss scene would usually start at the latter part and when it happens what we do get are 'dead fish kisses' hahaha

So far, Sun Leyan x Oscar and Xiaomi x Li Dinghao are my fave couples, I like Evelyn too. I think among all the men, Peng Gao is the most flirtatious and proactive one, imo he really needs to learn to take things slow if he really likes Evelyn because with the way and pace he is going at after her, it will only make her feel so uncomfortable. His actions are sweet indeed but at the same time I find it a little bit too much since they are still in the early stages of getting to know each other. For now, i'm not rooting that much for them. I hope Leyan, Xiaomi and Oscar, Dinghao can finally live under the same roof by this coming episode, I need more of their interactions.

I think 'Love Next Door' is now officially one of my fave dramas of this year. I really liked the pacing and direction of the storyline. How it tackled so 'many' realistic life struggles (some of them mostly overlooked in real life), and we were also introduced to very relatable characters who are far from perfect and expressed realistic humane ways when it came to their reactions towards their experiences or when faced such situations. I also like the pacing, which I said so many times 'slow burn romance', but apart from that, the way they don't drag along certain situations and resolve them the next episode in a satisfying way. The actors acting in this are just chef's kiss, no questioning their ability with how well they portray their characters and deliver those emotions across the screen. Each episode for me just keeps getting better and certain dialouges exchanged between characters here are really worth noting. Now, I can't wait for episode 10! We're reaching the road of healing.

what you mean that explains why wasn't so cold towards him !?!! so he leaving her in her hard times is something…
No that is not something good, I said he is a jerk for doing that. What I meant when I said her treatment wasn't cold towards him during the past episodes when they interacted was because it turns out the reason for their break-up wasn't because he cheated but because he left her at her lowest. If the reason was cheating I believe she would have reacted differently than she did in these past episodes. Also, her rejection towards Seunghyo is not just because of what her ex did to her but about all the things she went through, she is scared because her cancer might reoccur and end up becoming a burden.

yeah we can, but still people also have the right to call them out or complain about them which is normal to do so.

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
Damn. JUNG HAEIN and JUNG SOMIN's intense emotional scene got the best of me. Came back here after calming down from ugly sobbing because of them.

Anyway, Episode 9 was truly angsty (not built for everyone who doesn't enjoy such heavy emotional scenes). This episode tugged at my heartstrings, I felt every inch of the emotion they each both felt during that heavy scene. Haein literally exploded with all his emotions, reminding me again why he is one of my fave Korean actors. I commend both him and Somin for delivering that scene so well. I cried a lot, but I didn't actually expect that I would cry even more at the scene when Seokryu and her mother hugged. I am glad that everything about Seokryu's past in the US and with her ex had now been officially wrapped up and didn't dragged along until Ep 10 or else I would have riot. Seokryu's ex is a complete selfish jerk, he is a nice guy only if the circumstances are under his favor. Their relationship was truly just for his 'convenience', he is only by her side when situations are good but when they turn bad, he'd be the first to leave her on her own. This now explains why Seokryu wasn't so cold towards him. So glad he is out of the picture.

Aside from enjoying the heavy scenes, I also liked the cute and simp moments of Seunghyo. From saving the milk to saving the pomegranate tree SR gifted him. I feel bad for him that he got rejected twice by Seokryu but at the same time, I understand where Seokryu is coming from. An illness like 'cancer' is really not just having to go through the sickness itself, it's a mentally, physically and emotionally painful experience that would completely changed ones life forever. To make things worst, when she suffered depression and work bullying, her ex had to make it worst for her by not being there at her lowest and making her feel like she was such a burden to him. Seokryu really went into a dark place, so it is no wonder if she no longer looks at 'her life' the same way as she used to, but, if there is one thing that remained the same for her, it is how she is still extremely selfless. She is still thinking about others rather than herself, so now that her cancer has been known, I believe the next episode might be more healing. Her family will now no longer dictate her life and value her own opinions, at the same time, Seokryu will slowly learn how it is okay to rely on others, how she doesn't have to shut herself off to the world and Seunghyo will be there to give her that wake up call.

but it's true that they mismarketed this drama and people are allowed to be upset about that. it's not "a romcom…
it's better if they drop this, instead of repeatedly coming here just to comment about the same thing over and over again like a broken record tbh

Me too, like now we can't even complain about the toxicity or negativity of some mdl users who comes here solely for the purpose of spreading hate in a guise of self-proclaimed criticism. Respect goes both ways. If someone is being disrespectful, it is only right for us to call them out or express our own sentiments especially if they are being too much and does nothing but spread negativity and thus ruining the supposed enjoyment of being able to discuss about this drama in this comment section. It's not like when we express our sentiments towards the 'hateful comments', we are targeting and disrespecting those with justifiable criticisms. Like, if the shoe fits wear them, if not, then no need to be so affected when someone calls out or expresses their sentiments with regards to toxicity.
