I still standby what i said. The scene where she hides from her family in a box, the scene where he gives her…
can't believe words such as relax and panic are coming from you, the one who can't differentiate between bashing and disagreeing...pls don't ever aspire to become a writer, you might not succeed in doing so because of how you fail to comprehend such hehe (this is now me bashing you incase you didn't notice)

I will also standby with my disagreement to your statement. The scenes you pointed out are also the same scenes which can be found in older kdramas lol. Plus, it's so funny how you generalized the '3-4' people for being on everyone's comment when I have only ever disagreed on your comment and one other user, not everybody. 'Spinning the narratives' when you are clearly the one doing so, you are acting so much like a victim. Regardless if you were saying 'certain scenes' or not, it honestly doesn't change the fact that your statement implies comparison between kdramas and cdramas. Just say you can't take it when people disagree with you and consider such as a threat. MDL is a free space where people can state their opinions, it's only natural if someone disagrees with your opinions, and just because they disagree with you, you needn't have to take it negatively and act all butt hurt.

I knew i would get bashed here.!! So instead of responding to all of those who hate me for not having the same…
Exactly! I had actually watched some of the dramas they listed and I don't even see any similarity with LND that this user claims.

Thank you Hae In oppa for spoiling us 😊 so we can watch with a lighter β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή
we can now debunk the sad theories, i always knew LND was a happy ending and so much more than just the cancer plot like how most people deemed it to be

Thanks for stating this! I agree with you! I think people like them can't differentiate between 'bashing' and 'disagreeing' seeing how easily they pulled the victim card. Yet, the one who is doing the actual bashing is them by labelling us 'haters' 'blind fangirls' so quickly. Even calling our words as noise.

me too, i'm so happy for them and really hope they continue their friendship even if Haein says he usually don't have female friends...I hope the case would be diff for Somin, may the bond they've built here last for a long time!!! reading articles like this sadly reminds me how the drama is about to end huhu

'several scenes being heavily inspired from several chinese modern dramas'?? as someone who watches cdrama apart…
I respect people sharing their dislikes or having diff opinions but there is a bottom line. I just find it way too ridiculous to compare this to a cdrama hahaha of all things lol

'several scenes being heavily inspired from several chinese modern dramas'?? as someone who watches cdrama apart from kdrama alone as well. I disagree with this statement of yours. Those 'several chinese modern dramas' you've mentioned were also inspired from other 'several chinese old dramas' 'several modern/old kdramas' etc. My point is, it's normal for dramas regardless from what country to reuse same tropes over and over again, all of them does that. You make it sound like those several chinese modern dramas you've watched is the reason why kdramas exist lol like they invented those storylines and tropes alone. When in fact, those also used similar tropes as well and were just released ahead of time. So, if LND was released way before them, can I now say those several chinese modern dramas are heavily inspired by LND ☺️

Many will do better after realizing that many people in the comments are still in high school and cant realistically…
I agree with your statement so much. It actually came across my mind whenever I encounter comments of people who disliked this drama. I really think that 'LND' is not made for everyone but rather for those who had gone through such experiences, those who relate or just simply those who find the storyline simply meaningful itself, because of its very realistic portrayal of real life experiences with some being overlooked in reality, or because of how real and imperfect the characters were made. I actually find it as a charm of LND and such dramas like this are so rare now a days. A drama that is so 'realistic' yet could bring you comfort, healing and many more emotions apart from getting giddy over the romantic scenes alone. This drama touches the rough and hidden edges of emotions for me and allows me to really sit in with my emotions.

Some random people on the internet calling the writer lazy and dumb has got to be funny yo me because she has…
I agree so much with you! I also think she has done a brilliant job at giving us a very 'realistic' storyline with actual substance. I also liked how she wrote characters with actual layers and depth in them, not like the typical ones. For example, SH having had a relationship too rather than solely devoting all his life into 'liking' SR alone. Plus, I love the actual pacing for both character development and romance. Like how every problem is being unfolded first before we get the actual leads together, because I honestly prefer it that they both get tgt at latter part of the drama than have them now only to break up later.

yes!!! I'm glad I am not the only one who sees her character this way! I think some people are failing to grasp her character so I wanted to share it here as I was able to relate to her.

Title Love Next Door Spoiler
With regards to the reoccurrence of Bae Seokryu's cancer and her having a limited time left, there currently had been no mention of it.

EP 8: Seokryu's conversation w/ the doctor
1:17:31 - 3 years ago she had surgery in the US
1:17:55 - she underwent surgery for her stomach cancer as she was diagnosed with stage 2 cancer
1:18:02 - 70% of her stomach was removed and she underwent chemotherapy afterwards

IMO, Her cancer has already been treated with the tumors removed so she is no longer in a terrible or worst state. They also did chemotherapy on her after the surgery which is usually done to kill/remove remaining cancerous cells that had metastasize to different areas in her stomach. Since a huge portion of her stomach has already been removed, her lifestyle can no longer be the same as those with a complete stomach. Meaning, there are certain foods that she is no longer allowed to consume and ofc, stress and overworking herself could also be added in the factors she should avoid. I just think that her recent stomach pain has something to do with her consuming 'popcorn' given that her ex had also warned her about it and how she's been under a lot of stress lately.

Let's be patient and wait until ep 9 or 10 if her cancer really reoccured or it was just a stomach pain before we actually put her to a 'death sentence'. However, I really doubt the writer would go towards such trajectory because the way I see it, her experiencing cancer before was merely just an addition to all the 'sufferings' which she had been through while trying to live a life full of her family's expectations, pressure and decision for her. I also think, the writer used this as a sort of 'eye opening' moment for her, piling it up with losing her job and relationship as the last straw so that she could come into a realization herself that 'oh, wait a minute this is wrong, this isn't how my life is supposed to be'. We've been shown since previous episodes even a flashback of her working w/ SH on a part-time job while studying just to purchase a brooch for her mother, how she apart from being a hardworking person, she values her family especially her mother. She definitely cares about being a 'filial daughter' to her family to the point she forgot about what she had truly wanted - her dream and had even been constantly neglecting herself. Thus, she came back to Korea with a completely new mindset and more determination, refusing to live in the same way. In addition, I think this will also be a very impactful 'eye-opener' for her family who had been constantly disregarding her opinions and feelings, once they learn about it. I honestly can't wait, specially for her mother to find out all about her sufferings.

There's a very realistic and touching line which Choi Seunghyo had told Bae Seokryu at episode 8:

"Parents aren't always right, they make mistakes with their children too. When you argue over it, you end up feeling guilty for no reason".

With how Bae Seokryu's character is, I see her as a type of person who is so selfless and would definitely by all means do everything in her power to carry it all. She literally is the 'eldest daughter'.

I also want to add this, during the cast guesting at salon drip they told us at 32:51 that LND will not solely focus on the romance but different aspects as well such as family and friendship. Then, Somin added how she loves the way the writer sees people as heartwarming and how she thinks that LND will comfort youth who are exhausted with life. To add more, during their live on melon, Haein spoiled about how it would be party onwards from ep 11. So yeah....
