Never agreed more. The whiplash I got from the plot change to DoRaMi had me thinking they would've been better off making entirely different dramas for the two stories. No matter how well they integrated it, the vibes were just off. They have their own charm but they just don't work in the same project. I also went in with the expectation I would like the Japanese SL more, but they made him so unlikeable??? And I agree that he was kind of useless. It kind of felt like they just needed a counterpart to Shin Jisun.

I think that “emptiness” you felt with the ending can be more attributed to the fact that the manga this movie adapted is not finished yet, so we don’t even know what happens at the 10 Dance competition. The manga itself is an unfinished story, and that’s what the movie was working with. I think your disappointment is a little childish. You strikingly express your appreciation for every aspect of the movie, yet you somehow bomb an entire 1.5 stars because of your childish expectations. I don’t think the ending fell flat. It was certainly abrupt, but it was signaling the start to something new that just cannot be contained in the 2 hour frame. I’m not demanding you change your review, but I’d think about this one a little more.
