Wow! What a fun article =) Thanks for sharing your journey with us. I think I started watching dramas when I was 13? So it's been over a decade of watching dramas haha. I think it's always cool to remember which drama was your very first drama because it's always so nostalgic watching it again. For me, the very first Taiwanese drama I watched was Meteor Garden and the very first Korean drama I watched was Full House. These two dramas will always have a special place in my heart.
I know it's not gonna happen but so rooting for Matsushita Kouhei, so going back to Remolove to watch him get…
Yes! He was such a sweet and genuine guy in the drama. I was rooting for him too even though I knew that the ML and FL were going to end up together anyways.
What an awesome feel-good drama! I think my favourite part was definitely during their high school days, back when everything was just easy and innocent. Once they got older there were too many love rivals and I got slightly annoyed. But overall an amazing drama. The leads had so much chemistry it didn't even feel like they were acting. I'm glad to see more healthy relationships in the C-Drama world =)
I've stopped watching Chinese dramas for a while now, because they keep on reusing the same plotlines over and over. So I was pleasantly surprised at how good this drama was! Awesome chemistry between the leads and just a sweet love story ^^ I love how there was no angst and there weren't any villains. If you are looking for a feel-good type of drama, this one is for you.
It's so interesting reading the comments and everyone's different perspectives. For those people who are saying things such as, "Why didn't the victims speak up earlier? Why did they wait so many years?" This shows me that you clearly have never been bullied before. If you were bullied before, you would understand the pain, the anguish and the scars that come from the bullying. Some of the scars I have experienced from bullying will last a lifetime. I still get upset when I think about the time that I was bullied and how I wasn't able to stand up for myself. So please, let's have some love and compassion for the victims who were brave enough to speak up.
Hi, I have a question. Did you write this article only based on what you learned from dramas? Because as someone who speaks Korean fluently, I can tell you that a lot of things you wrote are inaccurate and misleading. For example, when you said "Oppa is definitely flirtatious these days, unless the man addressed this way is actual family." Umm...this is wrong. We use oppa with people who aren't family members ALL the time and it doesn't mean that we're trying to flirt. When I was a freshman in university, I had a friend who was a sophomore and after knowing him for a while I called him "oppa" because sometimes "sunbaenim" or sunbae" is just too formal. This was a platonic relationship. Posts like this just make me cringe because so many people are over-sexualizing the word oppa and most people who are doing this 1. Don't speak Korean and 2. Have never lived in Korea before. I appreciate that you tried your best, but next time it might be helpful to do some more research on the topic or ask some native speakers for help and input.
Thanks for sharing! I liked your list =) I love Always by Yoon Mi Rae...or basically all of the songs by her. Whenever she sings in an OST, her voice really brings out the emotions and the meanings of the lyrics. Lee Hae Ri's Maybe is also such a beautiful song. I remember liking Davichi when they first came out on the scene and now they're like veteran singers already.
Wow this guy's acting skills are absolutely amazing!! I haven't felt this way about a bad boy since watching Lee Jun Ki in My Girl. I can't wait to see how he's going to continue to grow as an actor in the future =)
Thank you! I had lots of fun reading your article and also reading the comments below. Someone mentioned below that there are some actors that are so good, they literally have chemistry with everyone they're paired with (e.g. Park Min Young). This actors are gems but I think they're hard to find! Also, I totally get that the second case I said seems odd, but sometimes those actors have boyfriends/girlfriends or husbands/wives in real life so it would be weird if their chemistry was good off screen as well LOL. Other times I've seen people just obsessively ship the couple so much so that the couple just acts super stiff when they're with each other, which makes me sad. I think shipping is okay to some extent, but it's definitely unhealthy when fans obsess over the couple so much and give pressure for them to date. At the end of the day, I think it's important for us to remember that actors are humans just like us, and we should respect their private lives.
Thanks for sharing! I think you've got a great list. The couple in Something about 1% is so adorable. I absolutely love them.
I'd like to add: Park Bo Young and Park Hyung Sik (Strong Woman Do Bong Soon) Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won (King2Hearts) Yang Mi and Mark Chao (Eternal Love)
I think when I'm watching dramas, there are some couples who have great chemistry on screen and they act like strangers off screen. There are also couples who have almost no chemistry on screen but they have chemistry behind the scenes. Last but not least, there are couples who have great chemistry on screen and off screen and those ones I'm always like wondering if they're actually dating in real life haha.
So I just finished this drama and I wanted to write about my thoughts. The first half was really cute and adorable! I really liked their interactions with each other. The second half was more angsty and heavy so I prefer the first half. I definitely feel like this is something I would've enjoyed more if I were younger, like back when I was a teenager. Now that I'm in my late 20s, this kind of story doesn't appeal to me as much. Nevertheless a fun drama with two great leads =)
lol i think you see 2008 a bit too extreme. I remember that year very well, it was not much different than it…
I agree with you! I remember dramas were already very creative and original in the early 2000s. Maybe if there was another article comparing it to the 90's it would be cool.
I'm watching him in Love is Sweet. The first time I saw him I'm like he's the Chinese version of Wonwoo from Seventeen haha. Both of them are very good looking =D
I am not disappointed about ep 10 at all, in fact, these are things bound to happen and necessary for the leads…
Totally agree with you. I feel like this is one of the most realistic dramas out there. As someone in my late 20s, I can relate with a lot of what is going on. And to those people who keep on saying that the ML and FL should just ditch their friends, I really question that logic. Even if their friends are being really immature and stupid, these are friendships that have lasted for 10 years (if not more). It's not that easy to just give up on a friendship, especially since our ML and FL have such kind and loyal personalities. I'm looking forward to episode 11 and I hope that we can have more sweet moments between the leads.
too much story about the handkerchief. song ah, just move on about it. Joon young, just get rid of it. pls.
OMG THIS! I was like about to start clapping in front of my computer cus I was so happy that he finally decided to throw the handkerchief in the trash. But a second later, it turns out he was just putting it into his cabinet. SMH
