Oh wow, it seems I'm not the only person who has found this variety show years after its airing! So I'd watched more episodes after writing that comment and now I really wish the subtitler got to the schools where the production started dropping the regular cast and brought in more females because I liked the initial episodes when everyone was new to the experience and the girl students weren't only being portrayed as fans 😔
I really adore Cher's personality, excitable and clumsy are the types of characters I usually end up liking the most :D Also I'm actually enjoying the fast pacing in theory since it should mean that they're going to be dealing with the main conflict as an established couple and the beginning of them getting together was meant to only serve as the character introduction. And I'm really hoping it's going to be like this as it derails from the usual plot of either having the classic focus on getting together or an established couple telling their story in retrospective. Would be a shame if this was ruined by a prolonged period of them being uncertain about their relationship status or a non-existent/non-sensical conflict.

Honestly, I'm all for showing non-consensual scenes in romance dramas, but only if there are follow-up consequences and it's not brushed off. And I think they did great showing how Uea wasn't happy about it and wanted to pretend it never happened! Though I'm still hoping to see King do something to make Uea forgive him before they progress with their sexual relationship as Uea hasn't been given a reason to forgive him yet.
Honestly, as someone who absolutely hated everything about season 1 except for the 3 minutes of NuerSyn per episode and the (wasted) production value, I see this as a huge improvement. I mean, it wasn't by any means good when the entire season consisted of either no-plot dialogues, same-sex marriage pandering or making out scenes and Lian Kuea's characters in particular felt so 2-dimensional it's like they had 3 personality traits in total. But compared to the utter toxicity and constant going in circles of LianKuea and YiDiao's relationships in season 1, this actually felt like a decent drama lol.

Yeah, I'm expecting this to end up as the disappointment of the year, not necessarily because it's bad, but because so many people have great memories of UWMA and are carrying their expectations over to this. Issue is that UWMA was revolutionary back in the day, but nowadays it's a pretty mediocre drama compared to some other big titles. So unless Between Us manages to not be stuck in the past and makes something worthy of being good in 2022, we can expect some waves of harsh criticism.
There weren't expectations for BL drama like this one before Bad Buddy happened. I personally felt like BB was lacking a lot in the plot department, but since it'd brought an exceptional chemistry of the couple and many lgbtq+ friendly talks which weren't as common back then, it ended up being very hyped up. I'm not saying that The Eclipse is better, but it certainly would've been celebrated for including those things too had it come out first. We've also got used to more diverse plots in BLs which wasn't as common a year earlier either so I feel like the mystery-driven story would've been more exciting too.
But this at least shows how far we've moved in a year :)

This!! I absolutely do not understand why so many consumers of the BL "genre" enjoy this kind of content and don't care about the morality of the situation as long as it's all fiction. And it's scary to think that there are minors as well who don't realise how dangerous and wrong the situations would be in real life.
There could be so many interesting BL dramas with focus on the sexual side of the relationship and adult characters who have jobs and life experiences, but instead it's all about the same set of non-con situations which many fans keep defending.
Yeah, that and Oh My Sunshine Night (already at a really low rating) are the only ones which had kept their ratings. I wouldn't be surprised if some fans of Love In The Air had decided to do this (not blaming all its fans though). It's way too suspicious how it stayed the same when it's the most popular currently airing BL which means it should've been targetted first.
It seems like the ratings of 5 currently airing BLs have been down-vote botted because I swear I'd checked it yesterday and they all still had ratings 0.1-0.4 higher.
