I'll only watch this if we get better subtitles. I'm totally down to sit through this even if it's nothing special, but I need to be able to at least understand what they're saying.
I usually see screening of such episodes by dmd, why was there no screening for this series except ep1?
The airing of this clashed with DMD land 3 (a huge show with all actors from the company for which everyone had to clear their schedules) so they likely didn't have the time + resources to organise live screenings on top of that.
I have not read the novel, but wouldn't it be so cool if Pim turned out to be the one behind the Opium dealings…
I'm thinking the same. Especially with that scene where Klao/Nakun throws money at her and then leaves without apologising, it would send such a good message if the woman who is only seen as an object and discarded after being used turns out to be the messenger for the trades.
As a queer man who lives in a country where we're treated very similarly to the characters in the drama, a lot of scenes in the past episodes have been making me watch to cry from how much I can relate.

If it was scam, then it definitely didn't go as planned and the initial plan would've been to release it much earlier. On the other hand, it doesn't make sense for a random small company to buy off this recorded material to release a drama 2 years later.
The more I look into it the less I understand and the more opaque everything is.Supposedly a shot, but unfinished…
So Hanyang had declared bankruptcy which means nobody who was working at the company or had a contract with the company at that time got any salary for their work. So not just the actors, but also the entire crew who worked on the set and any other office workers they might have had. Now, I have no idea how strong the social welfare system and workers unions in South Korea are and whether the employees were able to request governmental aid to renumerate their salaries, if there is any. But since the Thai actors wouldn't have been able to request any aid from South Korea anyways, it makes sense why they weren't able to receive any money. Then, Habitus/Cinema Upright were able to purchase the legal rights to the recordings from the original company. Since the actors only had contracts to receive salaries for the shooting and have no rights to the ownership of the final product, the company that now owns the recordings of the drama does not owe them anything, they had contracts with Hanyang which now doesn't exist. Again, I don't know anything about the law in Thailand or South Korea so I can't say how likely it is that SOS will be able to win a lawsuit against them and/or stop the redistribution of the drama. And the next part is purely speculation and might be fully incorrect, but I wouldn't be surprised if Hanyang's whole intention was to sign contracts with the actors for the shooting, knowing fully well that they wouldn't be able to pay their salaries, then declare bankruptcy once done with the shooting and sell the recording off to someone who could redistribute it and collect all profits with no costs. I also wouldn't be surprised if all three of these companies were connected or if at least one of them was created just for the sake of this operation.
Either way, I think this serves as a good cautionary tale for Thai actors and companies who are collaborating with South Korean entertainment companies.
Duang's whole schtick is that he's very over-the-top and expressive when it comes to his feelings, but does that…
It's because people have a wrong impression of what immature and childish means. Immature people are petty, can't control their emotions and want to have everything without considering others' feelings. Duang is not childish at all, he simply acts different from the norm. It doesn't mean that he never grew up, he just has an abundance of excitement and energy in him which he needs to shake off.
i was really excited for this after the pilot but why does this have such low ratings :( ? what's wrong with the…
The expectations for this drama weren't met. There was a lot of hype surrounding everything - from the pairing to the production value so the stakes for this to succeed were always high. The story doesn't flow well and feels dragged out during certain parts, acting seems to be lacking emotion from some characters during a few scenes and if you focus too deep on the political argumentation, you'll find lots of logic errors. But I'd say that in general it's by no means a bad drama if you don't have expectations only for the romance. There's a lot of focus on the plot and different characters and I think some people were too hung up on the romance while watching.
I was really hoping that maybe Domundi finally got better script writers, but they got me fooled again. I'm a huge enjoyer of bubbly-personality characters, but not when they act like 13 year olds. You're telling me that Teerak really needed a permission from his family members to leave the house every time? Or that during the argument with his father he couldn't just move in with Fah into his apartment instead of becoming a prisoner at his own home? But then suddenly at the end he was probably supposed to have matured thanks to Fah, but to me it seemed like he just got depressed and wasn't as happy as before. But what started actually being icky to me was the scripting of their intimacy which was clearly just for fanservice. Because they rushed into sharing a passionate kiss and sleeping together as soon as they started dating, but then by the next episode Teerak was suddenly uncomfortable with Fah's face getting close to his? And this went on for 5 episodes until in the last one they suddenly had another bedroom scene out of nowhere? Like sure, hugs and embraces are cute, but it felt weird to not see them kiss for whole 5 episodes during their entire relationship when they did it on day 1. A real relationship could very much fall apart like this, a lack of intimacy can be a serious issue unless both parties agree that they're okay with it. But that's the thing, with how much they rushed into the bed and never had a talk about taking it slower, it's apparent that this was just a pointless fanservice that really ruined the continuation of the story.
Somehow I'm usually the one complaining about low ratings of dramas, but domundi's production manages to achieve the opposite (almost) every time.
As someone who loves comedy I'm currently split between finding some jokes/scenes funny and some feeling a bit too forced. Also ironically OffGun's chemistry is kind of a disadvantage in this because I get too much into the romance when their characters interact and then it's difficult to get back into comedy lol.
Well, I'm curious how it's going to develop in terms of the comedy balancing.
I GENUINELY think this series writer and director needs to never make another thing again and apologize fully…
I didn't want to be critical of the cast, but now that you've mentioned it, the director's track record of his past dramas is so bad. He's worked on quite a lot of BLs and all of them are ones which people think had potential, but were poorly executed. I really wish he could take a break from directing and get more practise in it before taking on another job because director's skill is such a crucial part of how a drama will be perceived.
I'm literally only watching this to laugh at how badly managed this whole thing is. Like the plot and characters are inconsistent and all over the place, but it's hilarious how much things don't make sense.
On a more serious note though, I do feel really bad for Tutor and Yim since after Cutie Pie a lot of us were excited for their first main couple drama and it could've been so good if they were given something with a proper script and directory.
I really love how the colour theory played a role in each of the loops and in the end once they all reunited, they'd coordinated to wear the colour of the very first loop. It was such a small, but nice detail :)
Fr!! Iām sad that it not subbed the half way. And years later still not subbed!! š
In the later episodes there are a lot of students saying they were watching the show during the filming at their schools so I'm assuming it was popular in S Korea. I honestly reckon international viewers would be more interested in it if they'd made another season now as way more people have begun watching in k-shows.
All we can hope for is that season 2 will ever be made or some other producing company comes up with a similar concept š
