Some of you are annoying as hell, instead of watching something and getting context you get on here and spew nonsense that makes it obvious you didn’t touch a single episode 😭 If I judged dramas based on the synopsis alone i’d never watch anything cause the synopsis of most dramas don’t even touch the surface and make most sound dull and boring.

These two are not step siblings at all. Their parents date but thats as far as it goes, that doesn’t make you step siblings. ML doesn’t even know her mother has a daughter at all and her daughter was raised by someone else cause she abandoned her as a child. Theres no incest or psuedo incest because they didn’t meet until High School and theres no blood relation or adoption or coexistence between them growing up because their parents are not married. They had no idea of eachothers existence besides being classmates.

call me defensive idgaf but you are heavily misusing the word pseudo incest lol. They were never raised together, brought up in the same household and never even knew eachother as children and the drama doesn’t show that either. They are quite literally strangers their entire lives until they meet in their final year of high school. Psuedo incest would require them to have known eachother and have coexisted in the same household at some point. This makes me believe you never actually watched the drama and you’re judging it purely on the synopsis.

Not only at her age at the time which was likely 19/20 but also between her schooling and her mothers health issues that dog probably wouldn’t have been able to be cared for properly. Her life didn’t have time or space for a dog when she moved to Canada.

I've read it but i've learned with dramas that some people just aren't going to bother reading the novels. Can't help people who don't want to be helped in understanding it ig especially when they have already made their decision based on the drama. Correction: SHE grew up thinking they were brother and sister. He was aware before she was born that he was not related to her whatsoever and they talk about this later. He always knew.
ppl thinking they are related is going to be my nemesis so heres an explanation on this since the synopsis isnt clear.
1. They are not blood related at all. The mother never accepted the ML as her son. It was Jiang Mu’s father that wanted to take him in and care for him cause he was close with his parents. He was never officially adopted on paper, he was brought into the family to be cared for against her mothers wishes. They lived together for a few years and developed a small bond before the divorce.
2. The ML has been aware even before the FL’s birth that they are not related. He doesn’t even refer to her parents as his own parents. However the FL was duped into thinking they were related her whole life. She finds out immediately upon the first episode that is not the case. Due to habit and what she's known her whole life, she does still call him brother at first. He does call her sister but he's under the assumption shes leaving soon so he says it to get his buddies off his and her backs.
3. The FL last saw ML when she was a child and they were still kids, she has not seen him in over 10 years due to forced separation from her mother and the divorce. She took her mothers name in the divorce. Her mother was under the impression Zhao and Mu would never meet again in present day and is still vehemently against her being around him. They weren’t able to keep in touch at all. The FL doesn’t even recognize him at first and he lives somewhere else but he does visit and help out and has a close sibling-like relationship with Xin Jin.
4. they both have numerous conversations about this situation in the first 6 episodes. By episode 4/5 they are both acutely aware they are not related and the FL even says to the ML’s face that he's not her brother.
