Oh... I finally watched this drama; I don't know why I put it off for so long ... It took me by surprise—it really hooked me right from the start. Although, at times, it was a bit strange seeing a 19-year-old girl fall for a man who's over 900 years old :)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) Even though it’s Gong Yoo—who looks amazing at any age—the visual difference between them is just too obvious; I mean, he looks so much more mature than her. Especially at the beginning, when she’s 19 and acts like a child while he acts like a parent—that’s where I kind of lost interest a bit .................

But the autumn scenery—oh my, it’s incredible, what a view—and the fashionable outfits... oh... you simply can't help but fall in love with Gong Yoo - ok ok ok Kim Sin, but still Gong Yoo :)))))))))))))))))))))) ... he is absolutely perfect; the music is perfect, the house is perfect ... You simply can't help but fall in love.

Did I understand the final scene correctly? Will there be a second season?

I don't mean to be mean or say the second couple was more attractive, but seriously ... the FL was really annoying at times—taking things to absurd lengths—and the fact that we see more intimacy between the secondary couple than the main one strikes me as odd; it’s like they were trying to manufacture more drama than was actually there.

She mentioned in one episode—when Fanfan came to look after her after she lost the pregnancy—that she and Lu Qing aren't biological siblings ... and yeah, I also got the impression that she was head over heels for Lu Qing - but they weren't biological brothers

Hmmmm …………….. Bittersweet Love = Bittersweet BL DRAMA ……………… I honestly don’t even know where to begin ……….. I genuinely don’t understand where the love between Lu Qing and Xiao Fan was supposed to be? Where?

- THE FIRTS CHARACTER: - We have Xiao Fan, a young boy from a very poor rural family. He is the second son, so no, not the firstborn, the second one, and after him there is a younger sister = the baby of the family. This boy is sold for money to a wealthy family in order to cover up a secret = a pregnancy involving a girl from the wealthy family …………………………….. Question: why wasn’t the older son sold? What role does the older son even have then??? And while the older son is the most idiotic, greedy and stupid character imaginable, Xiao Fan, who is the main character, has absolutely no sense of self-worth, no awareness whatsoever that he is a human being in his own right ……….. I mean, the poor boy has been so traumatised by that family that he doesn’t even know that he exists as an individual, as an entity ……….. From the moment he was born, it was drilled into his head that he had to take care of his parents and his other siblings, that he owed his very existence to his family, while everyone was exploiting him, stripping him of everything and impoverishing his soul and his entire life ………. So this is our main character.
- THE SECOND CHARACTER: - we have Lu Qing = the eldest son of the wealthy family, and the brother of the girl who got pregnant and who will bring Xiao Fan into his home ………………. He is THE ALPHA MALE ……….. he has money, he is handsome, he is confident in his own abilities, he knows that life itself belongs to him, except that he has one little secret = he is gay ……..

- And as I was saying: where is the love?????? ……. Because at the beginning, yes, Lu Qing helps Xiao Fan, but I cannot exactly say, “OMG, Lu Qing is so desperately in love with him” ……. It is more like Lu Qing finally has something interesting to look at, while Xiao Fan clearly sees him as some sort of master/friend, definitely not as the “forbidden fruit” …… no, no ……. He is simply like a dog following its master, the only person who doesn’t make him feel inferior every single second of his existence ………. So somehow, that is where the closeness comes from, not from some kind of love or unimaginable sexual desire ……………………….. and then, immediately, we get THAT evening when Xiao Fan’s wife puts something in his alcohol, because there was definitely more than just alcohol in that glass, in order to humiliate Xiao Fan (there are other discussions to be had about Xiao Fan’s wife which I won’t get into here), and Lu Qing appears as the saviour, throws everyone out and is left alone with Xiao Fan, who can no longer control himself. And obviously, since this is his first experience with substances like that, he doesn’t even know what they are, how they affect him or what to do, and the poor guy thinks he is going to die. And what does Lu Qing think? “Well, look at that, I’ve got a chance to get laid today. Let’s take advantage of Xiao Fan, because he’s loyal to me anyway and he won’t tell anyone.” And it feels much more like rape than anything consensual, considering Xiao Fan wasn’t even in a state where he could properly consent to anything at that moment. So Lu Qing took advantage of him, and nothing more. And obviously, afterwards, he also took advantage of the fact that Xiao Fan said nothing and didn’t resist, but not for a single second did it seem like Xiao Fan wasn’t resisting because he actually desired it, because he loved him … it was simply because that was who Xiao Fan had been conditioned to be: he had to endure everything ………………………. And then we have that scene in the bath, when, after sex, Lu Qing stubs his cigarette out on Xiao Fan’s bare shoulder = his bare skin --------- LIKE WTF????????? ------------- THAT is love????????????????? Seriously!!!!!!!!!! That scene completely shocked me ……….. What the fuck was that supposed to mean in their relationship, apart from the fact that Lu Qing knows and can see that he can do absolutely anything to Xiao Fan, because Xiao Fan will stay silent and never say anything ……. He even tells him several times that his only good quality is that he knows his place = meaning he should stay quiet and remain invisible, as though he doesn’t even exist ………….
And then there are the scenes where Lu Qing wants to protect him from his mother. At that point, that kind of thing doesn’t even matter anymore after what he did to him. Or the fact that, in the end, Xiao Fan turns the tables on Lu Qing in order to prove that he exists too and that he can actually do things …………………. So honestly, none of it matters anymore, none of it feels believable ………………. Even the fact that Xiao Fan says at the end that he endured everything in order to survive proves that he hasn’t evolved at all. The fact that he called Lu Qing to him proves that he hasn’t evolved at all, that he took his trousers off to have sex with Lu Qing so that Lu Qing wouldn’t throw him out, that he kept going back to him and kept accepting the key back every single time …….. So there is no love here, there is nothing sweet about it ……… The only thing you can say is that Lu Qing didn’t beat Xiao Fan, but apart from that, he twisted him around in every possible direction according to whatever he wanted, did whatever he wanted with Xiao Fan and, yes, he mistreated him as well …………. It is a relationship that is fundamentally based on dependency (everything started with rape, continued with Lu Qing stubbing a cigarette out on Xiao Fan’s skin, and then came the whole “go away, come back” cycle whenever Lu Qing felt like it) ………………. SO - WHERE IS THE LOVE??????????????????????????

It’s not that I support him, but rather that I admire him for embracing his own malice and wickedness instead of denying it—I like that he isn't a hypocrite. He did wrong, he admits to it, and he doesn't want others to do the same; he prefers to remain in his own darkness—and accepts doing so—even though he knows it won't be easy. Evil exists in the world—that’s just how it is—and it isn't always punished ... that’s the reality ... but the fact that he isn't a hypocrite is something to be admired, at least - for a character in a TV series.

I’m not saying it isn’t worth watching it—the lead actors are wonderful - they’re the reason I started watching in the first place ........... but the first half of the series really captivates you and keeps you on the edge of your seat, then, in the second half—as happens with most K-dramas lately—it feels like the writers run out of ideas, or get bored, or something happens, because the show becomes incredibly chaotic and aimless; honestly, the ending struck me as downright stupid ................................ but the first half is worth it...


For me, any series with Namkoong Min is worth watching—at least a little bit—but that’s up to you.

I think Korean screenwriters have a problem with the South Korean police... it’s not the first K-drama where the police are not only pathetic, frustrating, and useless, but actually mess everything up ...................... SUCH A WASTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did quite like the fact that they tried to combine the rom-com element with a bit of action … that was actually what stopped me from giving up on it altogether. But there was absolutely no way I could watch this drama at normal speed, so I watched every episode at 1.5x and even skipped a few scenes 😊)))))))))))) …………………

If they had tried to develop the relationship / dynamic between Tae Ha and Sang Gil a bit more, I think the ending would have had much more emotional weight … but I genuinely did appreciate the action scenes. At least they tried to make them believable.

But somehow, this combination of action/crime and rom-com just didn’t quite work. What do I mean? Well, on the one hand, we had these serious scenes, and on the other, we had scenes where she was laughing and bouncing around like a ten-year-old child, along with her absolute desperation to sleep in the same bed as Tae Ha. At one point she was so persistent that she was practically begging: “Come on, sleep with me, come on, sleep with me” ………..
And he …….. and he ………. THE MOST VIRGIN 34-YEAR-OLD MAN IN KOREA ………..
This absolute innocent little angel, who had fallen in love with her when they were young, and apparently never met another girl after her, because he only ever thought about her. And somehow fate even brought them together in another country (that night in Japan), and he was still just thinking about her and restraining himself, and that is how he ended up a 34-year-old virgin ……….

And then, from one little kiss – actually, no, not even a kiss – the mere touching of their lips – because we all know that in Korean dramas, a kiss is basically just two people bringing their lips together and freezing in place. I mean, they don’t even pretend to do anything. No. You could be kissing a wall or kissing a person, and in Korean dramas it is apparently the exact same thing ………..

So from that tiny little almost-kiss, he still, still, STILL turned completely red ……………….. Good grief …………………. LIKE WTF???????????????????? ……….

At some point, even Korean dramas need to catch up with people’s ages and the times we live in. I mean, okay, if we have a romantic relationship between two teenagers, I can understand them being virgins. But for God’s sake, you’re telling me that a handsome, intelligent, capable 34-year-old man can still be a virgin??????????

I mean, seriously, have you really not met even ONE girl you could kiss at least once in your entire life by the time you’re 34????????????????

So somehow the whole thing felt like … I don’t know … a bowl of soup that was never properly heated. 😭

We have attractive actors who genuinely can act, but somehow … something was missing. And I’m not the kind of person who looks for faults just for the sake of finding them ……. There was genuinely just … something … missing.

PS – You can call me crazy, but I actually liked Kaito – even though he was on screen for about a millisecond, I noticed him. 😂 And because I was watching at increased speed and skipping scenes, the fact that I actually noticed Kaito is saying something. So then I looked him up and realised he’s Lee Jun Young ---------------------------------------- HOW CUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I genuinely think he is an extremely versatile actor.

So … I’ve watched all 14 episodes that are out so far, and I genuinely cannot get over episode 13 ………………………… Can someone please explain to me why Asians have this element in practically every drama: they kill off the most innocent one, the purest soul ……………… I genuinely cannot understand it ………………….. Because you can’t exactly say that the Qing Tian + Wen Shu pairing had no substance. Quite the opposite, they had far too much substance: Qing Tian was living with guilt because of his former lover’s accident, and for three whole years he was a tormented soul, completely stuck in time, while Wen Shu was in love with Tian’s brother, but never had the courage to confess his feelings to him, believing that he would eventually realise it through his massive and constant investment in his films. But guess what? He didn’t ……………….

So both of them were souls tested by suffering, unspoken feelings and everything they had been carrying inside them, and just when a ray of light was about to appear, no, not even a ray, because apparently that would be asking for far too much, just the tiniest little flicker ……….. BAAAAAAAAAM ……….. TIAN DIES …………..

Wen Shu is left with nothing but a promise, a “wait for me”, and an absolutely horrendous fate: the love that finally seemed to be meant for him was shattered literally before it had even had the chance to begin ……………….

I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if, in the end, he accepted his father’s conditions, meaning he marries a woman and moves back abroad ………………….. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ……………… what an absolute waste ………..

I am genuinely so angry about the way they developed this couple’s story.

So .................... the thing I liked most, by far, was the fact that the king fully owned his sin even though he knew that the people he had killed were hunting him from the afterlife, he didn’t run away, He stayed by ... That kind of complete acceptance of responsibility feels like true power to me. Whether what he did was right or wrong is a completely different story, but the fact that he doesn’t run away from his actions, no matter how horrific they were, is ultimately something I admire about him as a character. He doesn’t ask for forgiveness. He simply stands by his decisions and his actions.

Other than that - the costumes, the locations, the effects, the lighting, the architecture ... it really is worth watching. It’s such a visually pleasing film, and I was genuinely captivated by it, which, honestly, I wasn’t expecting.
And I also really liked the dynamic between the afterlife and the real world. The fact that you can feel what is happening in the afterlife even though you can’t actually see it, while the effects of what happens there are still felt in both worlds ... I really loved that.

Offfff ... I am a little desperate for Qing Tian ...

- And it started off so well ... poof ... really well; it actually kept me hooked at the beginning, but ... from the halfway point, it became super, super chaotic—it was all over the place ... I think it could have been shorter, strictly considering the script as it stands ... otherwise, it certainly could have been developed further, but ... it felt like it dragged on a bit towards the end ...

- Even though I get that So Ji Sub is great at action—somehow, in both *Mercy for None* and *Agent Kim Reactivated*, he’s this melancholy - SAD, physically super-capable guy; he’s the best, and no one can hurt him because, effectively, no one else has mastered martial arts or combat the way he has—I mean, come on ...

I don't understand why so many people are so annoyed by the opening credits that were made with AI???? who the hell gives so much importance to an opening credits??? like WTF??? are you watching the movie or the opening credits????? for a BL series this series is really good - they tried harder than the usual - ........ we see each other, we like each other, but the world won't let us, and it takes us a century to kiss each other ........ - finally a BL with more mature characters ... that it could have been a little more developed, that's something else ............... the idea is that it has potential, the actors played well - they are quite young, so it seems to me that they really got into their roles well ... it's clear that they were invested in the series ... I really don't understand why this opening credits caused so much visual discomfort - it actually doesn't matter

Great movie, beautifully acted!!!! But the look on Young-woo's face at the very end—right after his manager closed the car door and he was left alone—really makes me think that he had genuine feelings for Jae-ha and wanted revenge because Jae-ha hadn't owned up to his own feelings. The younger guy was reckless enough to want to acknowledge the relationship, but the older (or more experienced one ) realized there was no way to live as a gay man in those times, so he chose the safe path. Is that right? Is it wrong? Who knows? It’s just the reality of the past—the reality of an extremely conservative country. Unfortunately, it’s a matter of survival in the society you live in ... it is what it is ................ but they both definitely had feelings.

So ... just the fact that it's based on a true story ... *phew*... I have to say this series frustrated me to no end; at one point, I was so exasperated by Cha Si-yeong's mindset and behavior—oh my God—I needed breaks just to process it all... but unfortunately, that’s how so many cases were handled and resolved in the past, all over the world—not just in Korea, sadly...
- the actors' performances were absolutely wonderful—truly extraordinary. They conveyed everything they needed to; they were amazing. You can see a massive difference—like night and day—in their acting compared to *Chimera*. - They have really grown as actors.

So, I found out about "Chimera" after watching the series "The Scarecrow".......... and honestly, I had pretty much the same expectations as I did for "The Scarecrow"................ but unfortunately ... that wasn't the case ................ in my opinion, this series—"Chimera"—was way too subdued; I mean, even during tense moments, I felt absolutely nothing (unlike with "The Scarecrow," where I got incredibly frustrated). Also, I sort of expected the "Chimera"—the killer himself—to be someone special, someone significant; but either I didn't get the point, or they didn't ... it just seems like nowadays anyone can be the Chimera—everyone... anyone... three Chimeras ... four Chimeras .... I mean, what is that all about? ... and the way they introduce romantic elements only to leave them hanging drives me crazy—what was the point of watching them flirt and then ... poof... it all just vanished... I really had high hopes ...

this was the kind of kdrama that you can't help but watch, even though you know it's not complicated, it's extremely funny .................. i just liked it ....... you literally can't help but watch and smile
