what was CiSha's & RenMin's characters story in The Longest Promise?
He was Prince Ke Er Ke she was gonna marry into his clan as a deal to basically save her own family’s clan but due to his mother’s schemes he killed himself to atone for them.
The Joseon dynasty/monarchy was abolished in 1910, which according to my math wasn't "centuries" ago.
Idc if it was abolished when Jesus died beloved my point was it no longer exists (and btw I'm from Ihwa-dong) like do you all not know what figurative speaking is or?
It’s literally fiction who cares if it’s accurate or not, jeez? Beside if they want “accuracy” in a fictional series then a royal family should not even exist in modern times because the monarchy was abolished centuries ago.
So…I actually really enjoyed this series (aside from the ending which was a bit somewhat confusing) it was refreshing to me, I think for me what made the series NOT end in disappointment is that I didn’t get into this series or go into it thinking it would be anything remotely like PA or try to compare it to PA, I went in with an open mind and fresh eyes, because I absolutely get that some times sequels end up not being anything like the OG (I’ve been through so many movies or series where the sequel took a different route from the cliffhanger it was left on and it’s left fans me included gobsmacked lol) and maybe others haven’t been in that situation before so I get why they feel upset or blindsided by this but yes some sequels do outdo their predecessors and some don’t (which to many this didn’t land the mark), it is what it is.
maybe they didn’t want to risk being sued like the author of PA did seems like homegirl didn’t have an original…
That alone makes me not want to read her novel 11 Chu Te Gong Haung Fei 😭because from what I read she admitted publicly to the plagiarism in 2015 (probably played a part in why she lost in court in 2020, lol) and only a small fraction of her novel was found to be from her original thoughts (how small eh, idk), she had to apologise and pay 50,000 yuan, so unless she removed the plagiarised content and produced “clean” (by clean they mean original) as she was ordered to do then idk 🫤
I finally finished this show 2 years ago (after falling asleep on it multiple times and having to replay it) but never actually gave an opinion on it, I think what did it for me was the unnecessary amount of episodes that it had
To me the PA was just as bad I got bored with it as well when I finally did finish it I scored it just as low and never thought about watching it ever again 😭
