So glad I was wrong about the Queen yesterday and she was on to what the Dowager was trying to pull with the Crown…
Truly my favourite drama of the second half of 2022. The finale was perfect. I wasn't sure how they would pull it off but they did it and I was so happy. I'm particularly happy that none of the threads was left abandoned in the end. Everyone had their story continue in a way that was true to their character.
I love the Queen of course, but I really love the grand princes and how much they care for each other. The final scene of the four of them together was so emotional for me. This show was top tier from start to finish. I hope everyone watches it.
So glad I was wrong about the Queen yesterday and she was on to what the Dowager was trying to pull with the Crown Princess. I'll update again when I'm done with the finale but I just had to say this lol.
Ep 15 felt a little hazy but the fact that the Queen Dowager is still alive at the end just infuriates me. That woman is evil to the core and she needs to be put down as soon as possible.
I was a bit disappointed with the Queen for the first time, cos I didn't think she paid nearly enough attention to the comings and goings of the Dowager's people in the episode. Things like the physician being told to lie about the Crown Princess being pregnant should not have happened. Also, since she tasked the Dowager to deliver Yi Ik-hyeon, I cannot understand why she didn't also follow her to find him, like she did with the autopsy papers. Finally, I get her motives but she must see that revealing who Kwon was to the public as well as why he murdered the CP would bring chaos to the kingdom. It would fuel the rebellion all over agaib and possibly put every child of the current king at risk. Having him named as the murderer but as a mere physician should be enough to bring back her grandson. He already told her why and how he killed the CP so I'm not sure why she keeps saying she needs to know. It may be distasteful, but it's the lot her husband and his evil mother have dealt them and she needs to make peace with that unless she plans to sacrifice all her children for this cause.
I don't know how this will end in a way that satisfies everyone because their goals are all directly opposed to each other. Whatever happens, I need the Queen Dowager dead.
I'm blushing so hard djdkfj I loved this episode but I hope Bai Lang's sister doesn't go overboard with the overbearing…
Me too. I can't really see what her objection to their relationship could be especially when she hasn't even talked to Bai Lang about what he wants. I get being protective but she does tend to be over the top for no reason.
I really expected the wedding to get interrupted 😂 but I'm glad it went off smoothly and they're actually "dating" now.
I wonder if this mysterious fiance of the big client is connected to Yang Hua cos they keep talking about what a great financial mind he has plus the story about his ex was a little too detailed for an insignificant character. I'm looking forward to today's episodes.
i thought she was demoted but she was just being treated badly lol- i commented too hastily while still watching…
Lol! I thought she was demoted too while I was watching it. But it still sucks because it was supposed to be a promotion but instead they just decided to treat her like trash. I do not like her bosses at all cos they clearly don't value hard work or loyalty, just money.
im still watching while typing - but i cant understand y she wont leave to mk a way with the other lady especially…
It's like she feels that she's put in so much effort already so she's not willing to let it go. I think she also believes that the female partner is still on her side and she feels some sense of loyalty to her too. Whatever it is, it frustrated me.
I'm so anxious and excited waiting for the moment when this perfect house of cards that Qin Shi built comes crashing down. I just know someone is going to invite her boss to her wedding and ruin everything. I think the biggest hole in her web of lies was the child - she should never have introduced that variable.
TJH and his girlfriend are so annoying and it's hilarious how she came into the firm claiming she wanted to work to prove herself only to turn around and use her father's influence over a petty misunderstanding that has nothing to do with her. I'm about to start skipping all their scenes cos I can't stand her. TJH can't seem to make up his mind about what he wants from Qin Shi and I wish he would just leave her alone. Sure, in his head she cheated on him, but he also let his mother treat her like dirt so they're even. Move on.
Looking forward to tomorrow cos every step we take to bring us closer to the wedding feels like a step closer to the big bang! MVP of today's episodes has to be Li Dai for doing what needed to be done. I wish she and Qin Shi had just gone off to start their own firm together.
Finally wrapped up this winding story and I am happy with the way it ended. My biggest grievance was Li Hui and Sui Ming Wei not sorting themselves out until the literal last minutes. Surely we deserved better. In the end, it was an okay journey to go on and I'm glad I watched it. I haven't seen Timmy Xu in anything before this, so I'll check out his other works now.
In eps 13 & 14 I kept yelling at my screen at Kang Chae Ri when she was looking for butts to show and ignoring the very real twist of Chef Jang and Ji Wan that was unfolding in front of everyone. She was so caught up on making some sort of dramatic turn, and also blinded by her bias and disgust towards Ji Wan that she couldn't see it was the real story that would capture the eyes and hearts of the public. That alone makes her a terrible producer in addition to her being a jerk.
I started watching the unedited version but luckily found the right one on another website. Did Amazon fix it…
Ji Wan took a step forward by asking him on the date and I was disappointed he didn't choose her in the end cos it's obvious that he wanted to. I also hope we get to see them again even though the dating show is over.
I'm actually happy with Xun An's reaction to Bai Lang's sudden 180. At first I was like "no what are you doing? This is what you wanted" but after thinking it over, it's actually the rational response 😂 From the teaser, it looks like it's Bai Lang's turn to start courting Xun An and I'm looking forward to that.
At this point now I'm tired of Yang Hua's mother. Even more infuriating are Qin Shi's parents who are complete hypocrites. I can't imagine receiving a lecture on marriage from someone who's been married 3 times and can't even have one family gathering without an ex wife ruining it for everyone. Her eldest brother is fine but he has no impact and the second brother just annoys me anytime he appears with his toxic marriage. I'm not even surprised that Qin Shi is so against marriage cos look at the horrible model she's had. I guess she never told anyone that her other engagement ended because of their whole family dynamic so they feel entitled to make demands.
I don't understand how their plan is supposed to work though cos even if they get married now won't the marriage certificate be dated? She can't submit a marriage certificate dated today for a marriage that's supposedly nearly 3 years old. Right? I wish Qin Shi could just resign and start up her own firm.
ikr!! I just hate how wu fei dictates whatever is going on to that stupid tao. Idk what happens in ep 18 but after…
I don't watch trailers but I'm looking forward to Yang Hua's protective instinct coming out in full force. Maybe she didn't choose him randomly after all cos she never reveals all her cards, so I'm also looking forward to the revelations that come.
I am still enjoying all things Qin Shi and her leaving out a condom wrapper to mess with Yang Hua's mother had me rolling. Yang Hua is still cute and the two of them are so good together. How lucky for Qin Shi that the random guy she chose as her fake husband is actually smart enough and capable enough to keep up with her and even help her out sometimes? Some people have all the luck.
I really liked when Qin Shi and Li Dai teamed up to shut down the two idiot criminal lawyers. I wish they didn't work in such a toxic firm so they could actually lift each other up instead of competing with daggers drawn for the one spot they'll allow a woman to occupy.
I like how the Queen uses the Dowager's moves against her. The old bat really thought she was doing something when our Queen was already steps ahead. I'm so glad she got to meet Cheong Ha and help her get into the palace. Sure, the wedding night was a disaster due to Seong Nam's misunderstanding, but I know they have time to clear it up and I know Cheong Ha will not let him go so easily.
This is turning out to be my favourite show of the month.
I disagree about the "noble idiocy trope". I found it hilarious how FL is in love with Shangqi for eight years,…
It seems there's some confusion. I've never said I don't see his side. I only said I see her side. I have defended him from the start of the show, if you've seen any of my past comments. I get why he did what he did, but that doesn't change the impact of his actions, intended or not.
That's why I keep saying this isn't me bashing him or being against him. I'm simply saying I understand Xiao Ran as well.
Another great episode! The Queen always has lines that leave me thinking about them long after the episode. Her speech to the young scholars was inspiring, and I loved how she comforted Bogeom and his mother after their disastrous partnership with the snake Dowager ended.
As for the intrigue... It seems Uiseong is not the son of the king and Consort Hwang's secret is now in the hands of the Dowager. That's going to be interesting going forward. It's also clear that their next course of action will be to murder the new Crown Prince. We'll see how that works out.
I think the Queen was subtly telling Bogeom to be the cohort of the CP so maybe that is how he'll find himself in the leadership role in the future.

I can't believe we have to wait another week!
