This lie is not sustainable and Xu Yan always looks like she's being cornered because of the house of cards she's built. I am on edge for her cos I know her MIL will tear her to pieces when this comes out. Also, she's racking up enemies who will be trying to find ways to bring her down just cos of jealousy.

I get why she lied but it was never going to get her through to the end. It was so heartbreaking watching her get married without her grandma there. I also keep being scared something will happen to her grandma which may actually just break Xu Yan. This drama has me on tenterhooks 😫

She's just spoiled rotten. No matter what she does, their parents make excuses so I doubt she's ever really had to deal with the consequences of her actions before. Life has always just been an adventure for her. It's not her fault, but she's old enough to know better.

I think they already decided they were not going to send her to college regardless so why bother taking the exam at all. Since they picked her sister then why would she waste time and effort on an exam when she could be getting a job and supporting the family.

No cos why would her sister show up to her place of work without an invitation? Isn't she supposed to be the older sister? She doesn't have 2 brain cells to rub together?

Peak comedy! 😂 Between the consort's lady being a whole secret fighting master and the prince's mother wailing about not trusting the cook AFTER they'd discovered the cause of his ailment (while her son is seizing himself to death mind you), I was truly rolling. This show is so entertaining istg!

How will the consort get away with killing her accomplice? All the guards are just willing to sacrifice themselves and their families for the cause? Why weren't they keeping a closer eye on her when the female physician was already killed? And Prince Je San...it's really that meme...if I had a nickel for every time Je San almost plunged the nation into chaos, I'd have 2 nickels, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice (that I can remember). At this point, SOMEONE should be watching the prince and consort Kang cos what do you mean these people keep having society meetings and nobody knows????

Anyway, it's almost over and it's still fun so I'm here until the very end.

I can't imagine how the whole premise of this drama stayed a secret when people were constantly yapping and yelling out the plot about Yu Qing and Yuan Jin. Like anytime Pei Ji asked her, I just said my dude stand outside for 5 mins and you'll get the entire gist of all this LMAO.

Ep 21 was too funny cos Yuan Jin really yelled out the whole thing in front of random guards, and still by the end of the episode Pei Ji is having moments of discovery and enlightenment???? LOL

This show is a full on comedy, idc what anyone says 🤣🤣🤣 I can't take anything seriously and it's a lot of fun!

This part! It doesn't make sense that she reverted to her 25yo self and is still acting like this. She should be completely different from her 50yo self rather than just hysterical with no recent memory. It would make more sense if she'd just lost all her memory instead of saying she reverted to 25 mentally and not reflecting any part of her 25 yo personality.

I just started this and I had to pause after the accident... Se Ra was never depicted as vain or stupid in 1999, in fact she was someone who'd had a hard life but stayed humble and was at least street smart if nothing else. So, for her to wake up and suddenly be whatever this version is just threw me. I'll go back but I hope there's a plausible explanation.

On some level he was right, but see how these 2 generals just ended a coup attempt and have never given him any reason to doubt them, it was ridiculous of him to just go with what Chu Zhao said at all imo 😂 the emperor was shown to be savvy and smart when dealing with the old chancellor so it was funny to me that he just was like "hell, let them resent me and let me weaken my military with this pointless division". But yeah, you're right about their descendants facing the same thing down the line.

Ngl, I found it hilarious that Chu Zhao's maid died from a stab wound from a small knife in what looked like her right shoulder, while He Yan survived MULTIPLE SWORD STABS. They're both fighters so what exactly was that??? Completely unnecessary and ridiculous end for a character who actually did nothing wrong.

Next, let's visit Yan He's equally unnecessary death. Like, did the writer have a death quota that suddenly needed to be met in the final episodes? What the hell was that? Lol.

Ultimately, I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Poorly executed and undeserved deaths aside, and also putting aside the suddenly stupid emperor, it was a fun watch. The lead couple CARRIED the show for me. However, I realise I might be being too lenient with the show because of them cos I didn't even hate the villain which shows how poorly designed he was in the end. But I had fun watching this everyday and I'll miss these 2 generals now that it's over.

This was, unfortunately, a waste of a good premise.

That's why I suggested she use it as a distraction.

When she was running around the hospital, I wondered so many things... Like why didn't they think of a distraction for a scenario like that? Why not force an evacuation? Since she had a bomb, why wasn't that the distraction? Why didn't she just plant that when she lucked into the chamber with all the samples? Blow it up and get away while they figure it out? Why did she even go to the reception when they asked all the staff to come there? I have so many whys and no answers. It's quite frustrating.

I'm sorry but Liu Yan's foolishness is trying my patience. At every turn she always falls face first into people taking advantage of her. It's so infuriating to watch and I'm only on episode 2.

There have been movies made with terminally ill actors before, but we usually find out after the fact. For this one, I don't think they used her illness to promote the movie, but rather her story *after* the illness was made public due to circumstances beyond their control. They would have kept it hidden until the end of they could've.

But to answer your question, I'd watch it and I'd definitely be bawling my eyes out in the theatre.
