No Hwi Oh is a detective in the violent crimes division of the Gangnam Police Station. He thinks that he is doing well until his life suddenly takes a turn and he becomes a “crazy” person who can’t hold in his anger about anything.

To make matters worse, her report is taken out of context, leading many social media posters to criticize the fire department! But Xu Lai’s love for him has not diminished – and she resolves to fix this and win his heart at all costs. She becomes a dog trainer – helping train special fire-fighting canines who can help rescuers in their efforts. This brings her closer to Jin Shi Chuan. But he carries deep scars from past hurt. Can Xu Lai’s love help mend the pain?

They don't actually have the same story, one is about first love reuniting and the other is about a divorced couple reuniting. It's just about the vibe of the couples. FL has a hardworking personality, tough and good at fighting with others especially with their men, whereas ML has a calm personality, falls in love with their women first and is even considered inferior to their women's control. That's why in both dramas you can see how much influence their women's actions or words have in their lives even though they've been separated for years.

These titles are similar to me for various reasons: love in racing scenarios; Someone is being pursued; Some nice action and slow burn; Cast is hot as hell

On the one hand, their settings are very different--Korean historical versus Chinese 20th century--but both tell epic tales over years of the characters' lives and interweave the maturing of the country with the maturing of the characters.

Both take a bit of time to grow attached to the characters but then you become SO sympathetic with them that the feels are intense.

Both have some romance but it is not the only ingredient (it is definitely featured more in My Dearest). Both are very well acted and nicely paced.

Both leave you feeling like you experienced something meaningful.
