Both of these dramas deal with extramarital affairs, murder, revenge, and most importantly, women at the centre of both stories.

Ikuta Toma , family genre, comedy and Ikuta Toma.

Ikuta Toma plays a hard working househusband in Kakenai but plays an easy-lucky neet in Hanashi wa Nagai. ;)

Definitely weird to pair these 2 because they are far off from the story line, but hear me out.
If you want to bridge from Kdrama to Jdorama or the other way around (if you enjoyed the writing style of the coup), I highly recommend you this. My reason leans more on to the Japanese side of making dramas

It is similar, in the essence of Jdoramas that you get a dilemma at the start of the drama, which will be resolved at the middle but put the character/s in a pinch again before the end for the next episode. Still the characters and story revolves around the original plot.
In my opinion, as an avid audience of both country, , Idol: the coup can par the cycle writing of Kakenai.

Both shows focus on family and friendship; both have a similar melancholic/bittersweet vibe.
Both MLs are orphans that run small shops in place of their grandparents; meet a FL that works in food industry.

Both are chinese republican era drama.
The main female lead is strong, mature, fearless, supportive, instinctive and amazing.
The chemistry between the leads is insane in both drama.

Childhood friends. One became detective. Secret not being told.
Are they still friend after the tragedy.
How do they solve the mystery murder case.

Both men grew up poor orphanage.
They walked separate past.
Their lives intertwined.
Lots of action, tragedy, ….

Both Japanese movie involved two childhood friends, strong bond, many up and down in life, facing challenges, will they become enemy or solid bromance no matter what?

Tow main lead in both movies got themselves into deep trouble.
No romance just bromance.
Both were intense, mystery
How was the ending? Were they in real danger?

They both has to do with computer programming.
Both are very unique genre.
Kind of mystery, kind of unpredictable,

The handicap young man on both movies were able to live alone in peace with the help of friends and lady neighbor or coach.
