Central to the plot of both 'I Am This Type of Girl' and 'The Blooms at Ruyi Pavilion' are the female leads' prophetic dreams. The future events they dream about are harmful to themselves and their families. Ban Hua and Fu Rong try their best to prevent the tragedies from occurring, thereby changing the future.
The male leads, Rong Xia and Xu Jin, initially clash with their love interests. After repeated encounters, they solve various mysteries together, and fall in love.
The female leads' families are also prominently featured. Especially the siblings, Ban Heng and Fu Xuan, are very supportive of their sister's actions.
Both dramas have comedic and dramatic elements, and are set during the times of an ancient Chinese fictive dynasty. The imperial family, court politics, and secrets of the past are part of each drama's plot. Likewise, the romance between the lead and secondary couples is a major part of the plot.

I think if you liked one you will like the other. At least, give each a try!
(Also, Jerry Chang plays the emperor in both dramas lol)

Not only do they have basically the same vibe, they both share alot of similarities:
+ Both MLs are geniuses (Maths in Perfect and Casual, Science in Put Your Head On My Shoulder)
+ Both MLS are sort of cold to start with - but are extremely caring and protective, jealous of a SML at the beginning and do their best to make the FL stay
+ Contracts: In Perfect and Casual it's a marriage contract - in Put Your Head On My Shoulder there is a contract for the FL to keep living there by her mom
+ A lot of fluff
+ Both have hardworking FLs where the ML sometimes helps out in cute and supportive ways with their knowledge
Funny note, both FLs like snail noodles which the MLs hate lol

JI and MM have a similar theme of cold and successful ML has a personal setback and becomes a more warm and kinder person meanwhile FL keeps going back and forth between ML and SML and also becomes the reason for the change in ML's attitude.
Even the character and acting style of ML seems similar.
But both dramas are totally different where MM is more of time travel, murders, and mystery whereas JI is more on personal growth, Career, and breaking social taboos.

The only theme these two movies share is an innocent man who is tortured into giving a false confession. National Security spends most of the movie showing us the actual process of torture while Box: The Hakamada Case focuses more on showing us the ramifications of such unethical interrogation methods. Both are based on a true story.
