Both shows are very quick-paced stories about power struggle.
Both have the same Chinese setting: a young scholar arrives to the capital, two princes are trying to get him to their side, each fighting for power. There are also a vile emperor who had came to power by force many years ago with the help of his friends; the local special service and its insidious head, one of those very friends; empress-grandmother, keeper of family secrets; emperor's sister with an illegitimate child...
All these characters have complicated relationship in both shows . But the MLs differ absolutely. JoL is not so serious as NiF, it is full of humour and the ML of JoL is not supersmart. (Moreover, he is sometimes saved by others. )
In JoL we also still don't know what girl the ML is going to prefer so we are waiting for the 2ns season.

Both drama are about a man who truly loved himself, didn't think they fit for marriage & also self-centred.

Both shows have reincarnation theme. In chicago typewriter ml and fl were reincarnated and in tale of the nine tailed fl was reincarnated. In ct as well as in totnt characters get to discover what happened during their past life.

FL time travel to change the events or prevent events to occur with limited life span.

more/less the show have similar premise, the difference is that BG features an ex-SP and a bit darker than SP.

Has a similar fleeting quality to it.

Both are master pieces in their own way. Fantasy is something we crave for and can't have in reality. This is exactly what these dramas offer us. Both of them are revolutionary love stories. A love story where a lover can sacrifice everything but love till the end.

Both are Time Travel and Romantic Comedy...If you like One of it then you might like the other one...

Overall, both of the shows deal with teenager problems in a coming of age society as they transition to adults. A kind of age-crossroad where the characters are neither children nor exactly adults.

Both FML are able to see ghosts, while the ML is the one responsible of catching the ghosts.
In Devils Punisher the ML is the Ghost kings, while in Black the ML is a Grim Reaper.

Both dramas are set in the Republican era. Main plot is about mysteries, investigation and crime solving. They focus on themes of friendship and teamwork.

Additionally both dramas showcase lavish sets and beautiful costumes.

I think this is the first show that has a very similar vibe to weight lifting fairy. The interaction between the two leads are so similar, the gestures and how they talk. Bring it on ghost has the supernatural aspect but overall if you want cute and flirty interactions like in weightlifting fairy watch bring it on ghost and vice veraa.

They are both slightly camp, truly silly, somewhat bonkers and absolutely marvelous in their own way. If you’re not into series like this you will find them both excruciatingly bad and not worth your time. But if you liked the one, please try the other!

Both are a decetcive historical type of drama and both include strong bromance so if you like bromance dramas with detective plot don't hesitate to watch them both.
