Both Japanese drama's although 14 years apart are about pure-hearted otaku's / geeks who initially are quite isolated and reserved. In both drama there is the theme of parallel universes/time travel and there is that handsome and popular×clueless when it comes to love dynamic between the pairing.

It's not exactly the same but they both feel similar in the school plot and the cute school romance that forms unexpectedly but genuinely.
