Both equally tragic and action oriented although Hwayi is more sinister from the start. Heavy bromances and messed up characters trying to fight their love for a messed up family. In Hwayi it's the family that kidnapped the main lead and raised him to be a monster. In Secretly the two spies act like parents toward the younger kid, even though he's a trigger happy north korean spy raised to be a monster. It's heartbreaking to see them love each other and also be forced to destroy one another.
Again, they're both stories with a soul. And extremely bromance heavy. Secretly Greatly is about spies and Friend is about gangsters. The tragedy aspect Secretly is definitely more tragic but Friend isn't a pretty story either.
If you're looking for epic bromance with fantastic action and a strong story with a soul, watch this.
Done by the same director, both feature creative camera angles and interesting editing with quite unusual story lines.
They are about Youth and how kids deal with things happening in their lives.

Betrayals. Magic. Heart-wrenching love. Beautiful OST. Amazing acting and cast. Great CG and effects. Chemistry between main leads is perfect.
Both has strong female leads who is independent and seem to be helping the male lead actively. Great couple chemistry.
The overall vibe of these are similar to me,
- both involve the law
- both involve the main leads working closely together so we get to see their relationship evolve
- both involve a sort of cold male lead with a more bubbly female lead
- both are light and fluffy with more serious undertones (or it seems Touch Your Heart will be going this way as well)
- both also involve a fun cast of side characters

Both shows are about two people who meet on Jeju Island and fall in love. I actually got confused when I was searching for one of the shows, because their synopses sound so similar.
Village Survival, the Eight is the first season before Village Survival, the Eight 2. Both of them follow the same layout, where $10,000 is hidden and the members must used their objects to find clues to find the prize money. There is mini games in-between to get more hints and the members both have to cook dinner and lunch. However, in Village Survival, the Eight 2 some of the rules change which include; the money doesn’t get carried onto the next eposide and the location is different.
- female lead also has that weird feeling knowing she is going to change into another person and runs away to hide her secret
The stories are somewhat different. But if you like Hotel king you'll definitely like Triangle. Both are based on protecting someone and the romance in both are good.
Both have an alien male protagonist in love with the reincarnation of a past lover. Both modern fantasy romances. The Love Knot is has a little more tragic ending but both still executed this type of genre pretty decently.
both has time travel as basic plot..
Both has concept of Change the past so that future can be manipulated..
Good twists and turns , great acting, thrills and suspense till the end..
Both are extremely dark, this movie doesn't have a huge focus on bullying but there's a similar feeling to it.
Both films are by Director Daisuke Miura, deal with the subject matter of prostitution, and share a similar feel.
