this is the original, so you should watch it if you haven't to get a better and deeper understanding of the characters.
This is the sequel to this show! this drama focuses on their wedding and I think it's almost like most BL special episodes just with more than one episode. I enjoyed it and felt it was really cute.
This is the original drama from which this show comes! They are the side couple until we meet again, but the story in this drama is so good! I think its one of the best bl storylines ever, and definitely darker than a lot of other bl's we see I think that's what makes it stand out
The main man character in this drama is very similar to Tantai Jin. He presents himself as a red-flag villainess and a tyrant, but deep down, he has a soft heart. He acts cruelly toward the ministers in his council to avenge his mother. Like Tantai Jin, he appears cold and ruthless, yet he is willing to burn the whole world to protect the woman he loves.
An interesting element in this drama is that the male lead can enter other people's dreams. If you enjoy isekai and romantic fantasy dramas, and you like characters like Tantai Jin, give this drama a chance—you won’t regret it!

- Puppet ruler ML (King in BH, Emperor in SoTK)
- Strong, power couple leads (strong FL & strong ML)
- Emotional ML x Tough FL (both MLs cry like all the time, 10/10)
- Complex politics, scheming, and power play
- Shady de facto ruler official
- Palace setting
- Both are thrilling, captivating political dramas
- Good OSTs
- High-budget productions with lovely sets
Main differences
- BH - Lots of romantic melodrama | SoTK - Significantly less and more subtle
- BH - FL is ML's concubine and they knew each other from before | SoTK - Married strangers to lovers
- BH - ML is raised king | SoTK - ML is not raised king
- BH - Less complex political scheming + less characters | SoTK - Very thorough political scheming + huge cast with a lot of focus on various characters
- BH - No supporting couple or bromance | SoTK - Bromance + secondary couple

As compared to ThamePo, this is a very short one. It is also related to music, and they met during work. As their feelings grow, so do the obstacles that stand in their way.
Similar Characters
- The female lead's character in both are supposedly unattractive (tho imo neither are)
- In both dramas there is some way that the female lead makes herself attractive/feel attractive. In filter it's the bracelet while in She Was Pretty she straightens her hair and puts on makeup
- Fl in both dramas are nice and caring
- ml in both dramas come off as a bit arrogant and rude tho in SWP he is much more so
Hidden/secret identities
- In both dramas the ml doesnt know real identity of the woman hes spending time with
- In SWP he thinks his childhood friend is the fl's prettier friend and believes he will be in love with her. This is similar to the first version of Cheng Cheng the ml in filter fell in love with.
- In both the ml piece things together overtime
- In both dramas the fl also believes at least for part of the drama that the ml dislikes her.
- In both dramas the ml falls for the real her
Work relationship
- The characters work together
- The ml is a superior at work while the fl is a new employee
One thing though is she was pretty is it felt a bit more serious and dramatic then Filter at least to me. There's also a prevalent love triangle that is not present in Filter. For a shorter version of this story I recommend the Japanese adaptation as well

The crackling chemistry between Luo Yunxi and Bai Lu and the comic timing is impeccable . Need I say anything more? I think the relationship between the leads is very mature, sweet and funny! Another positive
, uplifting drama that left a smile on your face! I have rewatched this one a few times .

They both have a beautiful romance . Here they have TCM woven into the story while in the latter it is design, fabric, embroidery etc. sunshine of my life did long distance relationship well and it was as uplifting as The Best of my Life. The FL in that drama was very mature and a little bit of a free spirit. I thought she was written well. So was the ML. All in all they both depict a mature, adult relationship.
Wen Yi Fan, a reporter, went to a bar called Overtime to meet with her best friend, Zhong Si Qiao. While she was at the bar, she met Sang Yan, a department manager and one of the owners of Overtime. He was Yi Fan's high school deskmate and the guy she once fell in love with. The two bump into each other, and as Yi Fan pretends that she does not know who Sang Yan is, Sang Yan does the same. After some problems occur, the two accidentally become housemates and get a second chance.
Both dramas have similar themes and cover common topics that include the following: sibling relationships, multiple couple plots, in-law dynamics, birth secret and so much more.
I think it's pretty similar. First, you will get a picture of the suffering of Song Yili's life (Ling Min), and when Xiaoju (Luutu) came, the world of Song Yili (Ling Min) will be bright and in the end, you will be crying because of them. The difference between them is that Viva la Vida has a happy ending, but for Always Have Always Will has a sad ending.
this is the OG!! Chinese drama, I love the original so much, it's funny, sweet, cringy and just a perfect drama to watch in your pjs after a long day at work or school.
same universe from the Sang Zhi (Sang Yan, little sister) perspective of falling in love with Duan Jia Xu. If you haven't watched Hidden Love, which would be shocking because it's one of the most popular Chinese dramas, please keep an open mind because the actors are different.
