In both dramas, the leading women have trauma in their past. Both are historical, period dramas. Both are currently airing. I recommend them for anyone who might want to watch.

Under the skin is the first season.
Both of the drama has the same actors and actresses. Both main leads are present and the supporting cast is also present.

Both dramas deal with family life, factory workers particularly women and the changes from 1980s to 1990s. The Last Goodbye to Mama is a very heavy and insightful drama that touches on very raw and hard to deal with issues and I have never seen a Chinese drama like this, it's really a gem. It certainly puts Wang Churan on the map just like Lu Yuxio in Romance in the Alley.

Romance in the Alley is slightly more light-hearted that uses comedy in a smart way but does not shy away from issues of the time. It's highly researched and really delves into the human nature of all of us. You can feel the labour of love in every aspect of this production. Both can be regarded as similar in that sense where both concentrates on our inner self, our desires, fears and yearning.

3 sister dynamic. Their appeared differences, bonding, trust and mistrust. Love, caring, hate, jealous, happiness, joy,

3 sisters story. 3 sisters grew up separately. Different countries, 3 strong personality women. Their different fate, blood connection, political, cultural and believe differences …

Both movies are about father passed away and the complicated family dynamic. The children came together awkwardly, the secret left behind, the mystery, the past, the present and the effect on the children future

Both FLs are forced to pretend to be male in order to reign and married to a woman who doesn't know their secret. The ML is someone the FL met years before.

Strong female leads both are trying to own their own life and destiny. They try not to rely on the men in their lives and end up opening their own businesses. You can't help but fall in love with all the side characters in both series.

As I continue to watch the journey for Rise of Ning, I can't help but think of Love like the galaxy. Both FL strive to survive on their own with their family dynamics.

Revenge, strong female leads and both come back to the family after being kicked out for so long. Great chemistry between the leads

The family dynamic of both FL reminds of each other, the father cannot handle their own household. It also shows why FL has her wits to survive. The beginning of the Rise of Ning just reminds me so much of Ming Lan

There is a lot of similarities between these two dramas :
- Smart FL and ML
We see them being smart beings, we don't have to be told. They are great strategists.

- Mighty and competent ML
ML are young competent generals who understand what is their duty and give it their all.

- Beautiful and graceful FL
FL are gorgeous, dressed great and have a very graceful demeanor. Not only that, they are women of their time who act according to the etiquette of their era while being avant-garde.

- Power couple
The actors share great chemistry and complement eaxh other's looks. Their characters understand each other well and are on equal footing.

Nevertheless adaptation is Japanese.

It's partially the same thing hence why it's called adaptation...

But do remember although the plot is similar there's probably difference if you look at it as individual parts and scenes.

Both are mini dramas with women working together to take revenge upon a lying, evil man with many girlfriends/wives.
