Both revolve around female friendship, protests, and outside forces that threaten to tear them apart when things are going good. The girls love to dance together and fight their rivals. The leader is confident and sassy.

Both have the famous woman and common man trope where ML in both series is a huge fan of the FL. I really enjoyed watching Love Scenery with all the cute moments between ML and FL. It is such an interesting story. So if you would like to watch something similar to A Beautiful Lie as it is airing, Love Scenery is a great pick.

STH 2 is the sequel to the first film.

One is about Di Ren Jie, the other is about the disciple of Di Ren Jie, Su Wu Ming and Lu Ling Feng.

The two first episodes reminded me a lot of ”the eighth sense”. Both bl dramas are well made and make you ”feel a lot” while watching. ”The eighth sense” is one of my favorite bl’s so I have high expectations for this bl. The first two ep were amazing!

The plot is identical. Almost too similar, to the point that Umi no Hajimari looks like a total copy from My Girl. Both main characters are young males that were dumped by their girlfriends and years later find out that the ex-girlfriend had passed away. In the funeral both of them find out that the ex-girlfriend had a secret child, a young girl, and that they were actually the father. The details on the stories diverge, but overall they look identical to me. ^^"

One day, a mysterious middle-aged man named Jun Kaieda arrives at the home wanting to stay the night. He tells Tsugumi that he is her grandmother’s ex-student and her grandmother gave him a key to the annex house. Tsugumi doesn’t quite understand the nature of the relationship Kaieda had with her grandmother, but the two begin living together in an awkward arrangement.

Sonoko enters into an arranged marriage set up by her parents with Amamiya. The couple tries to have a child, but they are not in love. Later Sonoko moves to Kyoto due to her husband's work and lives at a boarding house. There, she meets her husband's superior at work, Ochi, and falls in love for the first time.

While sharing the same word in it's title, they are both heartwrenching stories of a beleagured ML who wants to do the right thing but court intrigue provides constant struggle. In both, the FL is not quite to be trusted at first and doubt surrounds their relationship.

Both shows are set in 20th century with traditional performing arts (in Winter Begonia - Peking opera, in Jeongnyeon - pansori) as the main theme and setting.
Both have motif of "following your dreams" in performing.
