Haru is the captain and star player of an ice hockey team, who is greatly respected by his teammates. For him, hockey is serious business that fully occupies his mind, while he treats romance as if it were a game. Aki is a typical office lady and is waiting for her boyfriend to return from studying architecture abroad. At this point in time, however, he shows no sign of coming back. One day, Aki's friends, who are determined to find her a new boyfriend, invite her to watch an ice hockey game. There she sees Haru for the first time.

Kim Hyuk lives a fast life as a high-ranking mobster in the port city of Busan, South Korea. His closest friend is fellow mobster Lee Young Choon. Even though Kim Hyuk seems to be on top of the world, he is haunted by the memory of leaving behind his younger brother, Kim Chul, and mother as they attempted to flee into South Korea from North Korea. Kim Hyuk's mother was beaten to death, and Kim Chul was imprisoned after they were caught by North Korean authorities. Kim Hyuk then travels to Thailand with new gang recruit Jung Tae Min for a meeting with Thai gangsters. The meeting turns out to be a set-up, planned in part by Jung Tae Min. Kim Hyuk is able to shoot his way out of the meeting, but he is later caught by the Thai police and imprisoned. When good friend Lee Young Choon hears of what happened to Kim Hyuk in Thailand, he goes to the Thai gang's holdout in Pusan to kill their boss. During the shootout, Jung Tae Min is shot in the leg. Three years later, Kim Hyuk is finally released from prison and travels back to Busan. He finds his close friend Lee Young Choon washing cars now and has a limp leg. Jung Tae Min, the man that betrayed him, has climbed up the mob ranks and is now a feared crime boss. Furthermore, Kim Hyuk's younger brother Kim Chul has arrived in Busan and works for the Busan Police Department. Meanwhile, Kim Chul keeps close tabs on Jung Tae Min as he attempts to take down their gang. When Jung Tae Min attempts to take out Kim Hyuk's younger brother, Kim Hyuk throws himself back into the gang world to exact revenge.
Minoru (Kento Hayashi) and Aki (Kie Kitano) have grown up together from a young age. Contrary to wimpish Minoru, Aki, who normally looks ladylike, is very strong at fighting, hence Aki has always protected Minoru from being bullied. Their dynamics remains the same into their high school years. Wanting to break out of this situation, Minoru starts going to a boxing gym run by Oki (Takao Osawa), whom he met by chance. However, Aki, who gets wind of it, is fascinated with boxing as well, and joins the same boxing club. Minoru feels depressed as he is again unable to break free of Aki's influence. Through boxing, however, Minoru realizes that he has been running away from Aki and not facing her properly until now.
Hatanaka Kosaku is a talented boxer who turned pro at the age of 19, winning his debut match with a first-round KO. He is talented, but he has no guts. His uncontrollable appetite is an even bigger problem. He can't put himself in the right weight class, he runs out of energy because of hunger, and he gets knocked out while his eyes are set on food at the ringside. However, Kosaku's life changed when he met Sister Angela, a novice nun in the convent near his boxing gym. She became the source of his power, and Kosaku fights only to win her heart.
Definitely about fighting what you think is so precious & worth to you. I really like both movies. Ai to Makoto/ For Love's Sake is adapted from manga/comic book. If you like high school romance genre with a bit comedy & action I recommend both movies.
