Gentle school-setting pining, silent feelings for one another that are not expressed from worry of an altered friendship, stares filled with immense care and adoration. Same vibes and feels :)

New Life Begins is like the older sister of Youthful Glory. While Youthful Glory is a light and fluffy watch, New Life Begins offer a little bit more depth and plot arcs on top of it still being a pretty light watch. Cute and intelligent female leads, plus protecting and powerful male leads, are definitely obvious similarities between these two dramas. Not to mention, both female leads come from sweet (direct) families. Arranged marriage partnership turned to lovers trope is also the core plot of both Youthful Glory and New Life Begins.

Both Legend of the Female General and The Prisoner of Beauty features smart and independent women who are able to stand up for themselves. One, a skilled general and another, a skilled strategist. Behind those women are strong, charismatic men who know their partners can do it and will always be there whenever their partners need help.

Both also features an enemies to lovers trope, although it’s more hardcore with The Prisoner of Beauty. Both also features iconic script lines, with Legend of the Female General taking the lead with such poetic and memorable script. Visual wise, both are incredibly stunning!

Both the FLs are supporting characters in a romantic web novels, and they are aware of that. The web novels are about rich-boy-falls-for-a-poor-girl trope. In both the dramas, the “poor girl” is not so innocent. Both dramas make fun of tropes. The FLs belong to rich and loving families with doting fathers.

EY is a modern day teenage web novel, TFNWTD happens in the historical setting though. And the biggest difference is in EY, ML also is a supporting character, but in TFNWTD, he is the ML.

Aside from both of these being KBL's, the only other similarity is that the relationship dynamic feels a bit dark. Love in Protocol is definitely not as toxic as Secret Relationships. BUT the dynamic between the MLs in Love in Protocol did remind me a bit of Daon and Jaemin's relationship.

There's an unhealthy reliance between the MLs in both dramas, a bit of an age difference (student and tutor) and a SPRINKLE of possible grooming.

Secret Relationships is more serious, with meatier episodes and a bigger budget. Love in Protocol is a quicker watch with lower stakes. I recommend both if semi-toxic love is your vibe.
