Sasano Kaori and her husband are very close but Kaori starts to notice that her husband has "changed". One day, while talking to her best friend Yuki, Kaori learns that Takuya has a secret account with many posts that hint an affair. Kaori later finds out that the partner is Mishima Mutsumi and visits Mutsumi's husband, Kyosuke, and asks for his cooperation in separating Takuya and Mutsumi. Kyosuke agrees with the condition that Kaori sleeps with him. While following and monitoring Takuya and Mutsumi, Kaori begins an affair with Kyosuke, and later falls in love with him.
Different plot, similar atmosphere. Both movies have a soothing feel, countryside/seaside setting, and are female driven stories. Both also relate to food - a bakery vs. a sandwich shop.
Both explore obsessive love, marriage, loyalty, friendship, betrayal and infidelity. Love Twist strikes me as looking to be a little more nuanced with it's villainous characters; and also created in me a greater level of discomfort offending my sensibilities.
Similar plots. Both plots have revolve around fulfilling their dreams and redemption. Both leads are former juveniles delinquents but want to return to and succeed in a sport they once had passion for before being sent to juvie. There’s romance too.
Both works revolve around the friendship of three high school boys and address the problem of loneliness. Both have great cinematography, acting, and direction, and leave you thinking for a while.
