TPD - main dynamic (first few episodes) | ADltTL - secondary dynamic
- Scholar turned minister ML
- Princess royal FL (SFL in ADltTL)
- Princess abducts ML and keeps him as her slave/plaything
- Black Flag FL/SFL
- Vengeful and crazy FL/SFL
- Short-length and beautifully shot historical cdramas

Main differences lie in the fact that ML and FL in TPD have beef while in ADltTL, SFL is just infatuated with ML. Because of this, ML in TPD is far more submissive than ML in ADltTL. ADltTL's main romance is very healthy.

In the ultra-competitive world of e-sports, the all-male ZGDX OPL team is second to none. Armies of adoring female fans follow the team wherever it goes. But when one of the team’s star players suffers a hand injury, the tall, handsome, and notoriously hard-to-please ZGDX captain Lu Si Cheng will not be rushed into choosing a replacement.

The petite, lollipop-loving Tong Yao, meanwhile, is a budding amateur gamer – obsessed with OPL. Her skills are exceptional, but she is of the firm belief that in the male-dominated world of pro gaming, love is a big no-no – even though her own ex-boyfriend was a gamer. When the ZGDX team manager learns of her skills, he contacts her, thinking that recruiting her as the scene’s first female player will help score a major PR coup. Lu Si Cheng is dismissive of her initially, but eventually agrees to accept her as a substitute – a move that polarizes the team’s fanbase. But as they start to get to know one another better, could a closer bond begin to form between them?

- Minimal or no romance
- Strong male friendships / bromance
- Serious, dark tone

This recommendation come up to my mind because MTM have also this concept of some pairs who might have quite an age gap. The foreshadowing in (episode 2 of MTM ) is subtle but the preview seems like it might hinder forming an endgame couple. Noona, You Are a Woman to Me as the title implies, has this main couple who have a big age gap (shipping them btw) but that's the whole predicament as it nears the end of the show so I actually cannot wait to know if they are still dating IRL or what.

During the Wude reign, the Huben Dark Guards ruled Chang'an, but when feudal lord Xiao Wu Yang seized power, they vanished along with the dethroned emperor, Rumors claimed their leader, Yan Feng Shan, sought to use the fallen ruler for his own gain. Tasked by Xiao Wu Yang to eliminate the Huben, Xie Huai An, a brilliant official from Huainan, saw his chance for revenge - Yan Feng Shan had killed his father, and he had spent a decade preparing.

With the dethroned emperor as a pawn and later part of Xie Huai’an’s alliance, which included General Gu Yu, swordsman Ye Zheng, and many others, working behind the scenes, together, they waged a shadowy war against the Huben, a battle that would determine the empire's fate.

Both are acted acted by cheng yi
Both involve more politics

I am reminded of this recommendation since families are involved in this dating show, except instead of siblings, the mothers are there for the dating journey of their child. It could be higher in stakes and a lot more serious in a way they are in the common age of getting married and so the questions about future is inevitable that it really immerses to the possibility of having relationship in the end.

If you like the Dad's reacting as panel members, you might also like mothers in this new dating show with their sons or daughters. They are not just there to comment but are actively involved in the dating selection process. This might be a advantage since knowing the family of your potential partner is a vital aspect in marriage (the participants are at common age of thinking of settling down). This seems to be a pro for women, since I hear many horror stories of marrying into a family in Korea and expected you to do stuff in holidays.

These two stories could not be more different in plot, but are similar in the aspect of two soul mates merging into a complex dynamic. In both stories, our leads are forced to overcome the heart breaking consequences forged by their own choices, and perceptions. Neither ever truly able to let go of the other, despite how far apart life rips them. Despite knowing one has to walk away, while the other clings ardently, unwilling to accept that fate. In the end of both tales, both leads acknowledge the depth of their love, and find sanctuary in it.

Plots are very different, with LaL being a workplace romcom and QYBDHYG being a rich people melodrama, but the dynamic between the leads was similar in the role-reversed BDSM aspect. FL is the dominant one while ML is the submissive one, and their BDSM dynamic is explored 'platonically' first and then develops into romance later.

In QYBDHYG the dynamic is more master/pet and naturally more dubious with its consent, which was handled very well in LaL, but since there's so little RR BDSM dynamics, I thought of recommending this one here.

Both stories also featured a lot of role reversal aside of the BDSM aspect.
