If you enjoyed My Stand-In for the toxic relationship in which a kind person falls for someone who repeatedly manipulates and disappoints then you may like Theory of Love. The first half of the show is about First kinda pursuing his unrequited crush on Khai until things get so bad that he loses hope and gives up, distancing himself from Khai. Then the second half is from Khai’s POV as he realizes his feelings for First and tries to redeem himself. Both stories are about a toxic love interest who redeems himself, both are emotional and tense (though Theory of Love is less serious) and both will make you question your sanity.

In both dramas, the female lead changes her face without controlling it.
Also, FM are both strong even though it's not really important in MGITM compared to TF.
Both FM are helped by her friend and her sister then the ML when he finds out.
The Filter is way better and funnier in my opinion.

Both have similar realistic issues, both have characters struggling to decide between partners.

Both have similar cinematography elements- darker lighting, minimal comedy, struggles with mental health and friend groups.

Both revolve around the love lives of three or more people.

Except for obvious things like office drama, rich CEO and poor girl plot, I want to talk about the energy these two series shares. Between all the shows I’ve seen, I choose to compare these ones. I feel like they are one the heir of the other. Respectively 2018 and 2022 (where there is one more step into the female-male inequality theme), they are my favourite rom-com office drama, the only ones I watched again. The acting is marvellous, the cliches are in their right place, the episodes are actually funny and there is no ‘filling the space’ thing. Also, the FL has a life, a personality and doesn’t seem the usual ‘lady in distress’ kind and the ML are EXACTLY the same person. And if you ask me what to watch next? I’m gonna go with ‘Love Scout’ 2025, third drama that completes the scheme, with a further step into the female-male imbalance (female CEO and male secretary).

Written by the same writer! The plot of Witches Game is like an inverted version of the plot of A Graceful Liar... Mother-daughter relationships and identity switches are a big theme in this drama too. The mother and daughter duo in both dramas work together to get revenge. Twists, turns, schemes, manipulation and (birth) secrets abound, this feels more like watching a game of chess than a makjang drama. There are morally gray FLs (Hyera and Jeongwon in AGL, and Yukyung in WG. Hyesoo is more of a typical FL but she's not a pushover so she's fun to watch)

They also both have relatively high budgets for makjang dramas as well. Both have better than usual cinematography. Oh and if you thought Jin Taeseok is evil, let me introduce you to Ma Hyundeok and Yoo Jiho.
