Iida Shippei moves with his mother to the remote island of Origoshima. He transfers to the island's only high school, Origoshima High School (nicknamed "Oriko"). However, shortly after his transfer, it's announced that Oriko will be merged with a regular mainland school. Naturally shy and with few friends, Shippei is touched by the warmth of the islanders and his fellow students. Wanting to create a final memory at the school, he proposes that all the students perform a choral song together. But this very choir becomes the spark that drives a wedge between his friends' hearts…

This one never came out, but it should have been the second installment. Return of the Condor Hero's is the second installment to the Legend of the Condor Hero's. The ML, Yang Guo is the son of Mei Chao Feng's disciple, and the nephew of Guo Jing ( who is became the new successor to Plum Blossom Island after he marries Huang Rong).

This is the third Tribology to the Legend of the Condor Hero's trilogy. Although this series takes place almost 200 years after the events of Legend of the Condor Heros, you'll get to see easter eggs mentioned to relating to the previous two trilogy. (The infamous 9 yin White bone claw makes a reappearance in this series).

This is the 2017 version of Legend of the Condor Hero's. Funny thing is that Meng Ziyi plays Mu Nian Ci, who is the wife of Mei Chao Feng's disciple Yang Kang in this version.

Nine Yin true sutra is the spin off of this. Legend of Hero's is the main storyline. The FML is the daughter of Huang Yaoshi and Feng Heng, and the last disciple from Plum Blossom Island ( at this point).

Same genres for both dramas: thriller, detective, mystery… Coroner’s Diary is the best detective drama in 2025 so far with exciting plot, excellent acting, and perfect visual with great cast.

If you love intense drama with rich people doing VERY shady things, Penthouse and The Defects are right up your alley. Both shows dig into the dark side of South Korea’s elite especially how far parents will go to make their kids succeed. There’s mystery, revenge, and plenty of over-the-top twists, all set in a world where status means everything. With strong (and often ruthless) female characters and a sharp take on academic pressure, these dramas are dramatic, addictive, entertaining and often gut wrenching.

SKY Castle and The Defects both offer gripping, socially charged takes on South Korea’s elite education system. With sharp commentary on privilege, academic obsession, and parental pressure, these dramas peel back the layers of a system that rewards status over sincerity. Both feature strong ensemble casts, complex female leads, and a suspenseful tone that blends drama with mystery. If you're drawn to stories that expose the dark underbelly of success and the emotional toll of perfectionism, these two shows are a compelling, thought-provoking watch.

Lots of similarities!

Very sexy heroes in both dramas, these Male Leads will take your breath away with their carefree sensuality!

FL is initially in puppy love with SML since childhood, while the ML always loved her secretly.

SML treats FL poorly, and he realizes to late how precious she is to him.

FL is naive and innocent, but has spunk to her.

ML is wonderful in both dramas, having loved her for so long and patiently waited for her!

Just loveeee the way he shamelessly flirted with her and had no eyes for any female but HER!

FL finds a boytoy - the ML
ML is not really a gigolo but the richest man in the city

Crush Over is basically the same format as Physical: 100.
Here 47 Contestants build teams to battle it out over a total of 7 rounds.
It is probably a lot fairer than Physical: 100, if you look at how exactly the games were designed and judged.
Both shows are really fun, but Crush Over surprised me, because it was on no radar and it wasn't a cheap set or production.
The stages for competition and the housing is actually quite big.

- Same screenwriters.
- About drugs.
- Both have very slight romances.
- We follow characters in both the police and the drug ring.
- Friendship and found family are important aspects in both.
- Overall dark themes and violence.

In my opinion "The First Shot" is much better but "Being a Hero" has interesting things as well and a very different vibe.

The stories are nothing alike but the ANGST and YEARNING in both is the same. not-so-happy melodramas where romance is deep yet painful.
