It's easier to see the flaw than the good side of this drama.

I understand that it's not what most viewers expected, even I was a little disappointed. But the thing is romance isn't the #1 priority of this drama and the drama itself is darker than SWDBS.
Nam Soon is an agent and it's important for her to keep her enemies closer. Hee Sik may not be portrayed well as you expected but he always got Nam Soon's back and is always there for her. Nam Soon and Hee Sik needs one another.
Shi Oh has a tragic background (which I do feel bad for), but that does not excuse his criminalistic behavior and attitude. The law will arrest all kind of criminals. Shi Oh is handsome and sexy but to me, the purpose of good-looking villains are to convey the: "Angel face but devil personality".
The season is going to pick up the pace again somehow in the next episodes, we still got more to wait, so be patient, I'll send another review once the series' status is completed
So many things I wanna say but I can't express it.
Feel free to fight me as long as it's a debate and not an argument.

Tire of these storylines.. ?

Here you go… your typical drama where exes return and cause chaos. Don’t these writers get it? It’s 2023.. we want better scripts!!

Started off really well, production is good, actors are good, the first 11 episodes were good. Beautiful storyline where the ML loses his girlfriend 6 years ago, and finally opens up his heart to FL and love again. Then when they introduce the Ex- boyfriend, and how he’s scheming to interfere with not only her personal new relationship with a very charming doctor, he also manipulated her work professionally, being rich and CEO of the company that hires her. Sheesh.. if I were her I wouldn’t take the job. I knew then that this storyline would just go down the drain

So I look to the comments section and true enough, many MANY unhappy viewers. Guess I’m dropping this guys. Too bad :(

Tawain knows BL

I give it to the Tawainese people, they make some very interesting BLs and they make them feel so many different emotions throughout.

This one made me cry for a full episode and then I was giddy and grinning from ear to ear. I love it when a company gives us one episode of just pure bliss and happiness. I feel that is something lacking with some BLs, we never get to see the couple be a couple, where everything is just right with them. I want that. I want to see that and You are mine delivered that. The last 3 episodes were very heart warming and breaking at the same time and it didn't feel rushed, it felt that they were finally being honest with one another. I also love that the supporting cast was all there rooting for them and helping each one of them understand what the other could not.

Too many shows are ending, now on to something new.

Stayed for the main couple

First of all, here's a recommendation: make sure to find good subtitles for this series. When I tried to watch the first episode with English subtitles, they were so bad that I seriously considered dropping the show altogether. I was lucky enough to find good subtitles in my native language, but if I hadn't, I don't think I would have watched anything past the second episode. Also, the first two episodes are very slow and the pace only picks up from the third episode, so that wouldn't have helped either.

The plot of the story is not very convincing. There are good tropes that could have made the story interesting, but all of them felt very superficial and inconsistent: some elements were introduced and then forgotten, some others stayed for the entire story but never felt as crucial as they were probably meant to be (like the rivalry between Dorm 2 and Dorm 3, which kept being brought up and then suddenly forgotten at every turn). I was under the impression that the writers came up with different ideas, then were indecisive about which one they could pick, and finally chose to include all of them. I felt like I was being swept left and right by the plot and its constant changes in direction, so after a while I just stopped questioning anything that was happening in the story, and focused on the romance.
The story of each couple isn't much less confusing than the overarching plot, but the chemistry of the main pair made up for it. Ai and Songkhram have to be one of the most adorable on-screen couples I've seen and all their moments together had me glued to the screen; the development of their relationship was also pretty good despite everything. The secondary couples didn't get the same care, unfortunately: I feel like Pipe and Meen could have shown much more, but the pacing was off and their story ended up feeling unsatisfying to me. As for Pluster and Nano, they didn't really have any sort of subplot of their own to begin with - either that or it was just so insignificant that it didn't even catch my eye.

Overall, I'm sure I will remember this series just because of Ai and Songkhram and not much else. I only recommend watching as long as you don't have high expectations for the story.

Back up Candy

I came for Yihaw. I loved her character in the other series. She was strong, independent, and deeply loyal. The chemistry of the main two couples was great. I can say I honestly always disliked Knock as a character. He is childish and petty, but he makes some good points. He loved the man and wanted to express his love. Nothing wrong with that, but not calling your partner before you go on an all-night-er with a friend and having them worried sick about you is wrong, and playing way too many mind games is wrong. I truly love Cho and Yihaw's relationship. Yihaw annoyed me a bit, yes. Auto assuming Cho was gay and escalating the conflict between Knock and Korn bugged me. Also, the Bi man equals man hoe out for anyone comment was upsetting. But she was a great friend. The end was the worst and best. I was honestly super bored with the relationship drama by ep 8 the tacky overly dramatic villain shook things up. This series is like okay candy you settled on because they were out of Skittles. Not what you wanted or winning any awards, but it's okay.

True love will always inspire others

Crazy how this drama is able to make me cry since ep 3. And in every episodes my crying will be heavier and louder.

Who would not cry a river if it's about losing someone you love the most?
No, you will definitely cry and cry for many times.
I was experienced losing my 6 years old younger brother hence I felt the emotions so much that I can't bear remember him everytime I watch this drama.

It's getting even worse because this drama also have that sense of poetic melodrama created by the singer-songwriting things. And how such a deep lyrics created by such a tragic sad love story.

And what I highlight the most is the lesson that I learned from this drama. That is true love will always inspire others.

Lovers are usually being destroyed by a small conflict or cliches but somehow egoism is the only reason behind it. They come up with two side love story when they still can't even discover what true love really means but the main couple inspire them to find the meaning of true love.

Afterall, this is life. We will meet people by chances, or coincidences etc. And we can't help but to love that person. And once you find you love, cherish it. Before it's too late, and before everything turn to be something unexpected that we really want to turn back time.

cheesy

ok, was this a cheesy show 100% it was. Did I absolutely love it and become invested in it, also 100%.
I started watching this as a comedic break from everything else. I knew going into it, that it was cringe worthy and it didn't disappoint but I got hooked and consumed it quickly. the second last episode had me in tears, I laughed so much throughout this series and also cringed aswell. I have to say though I am happy that I watched it.

Straight man Mob finds himself in a fantasy (?) BL world and thus begins his story. It seems to me, at least, that the world of Japanese manga has been "over-managed" and the film didn't capture my heart as it should, because it couldn't, because everything here is reversed, and that's why it also captured my heart "in reverse". Mob "fights" against the BL world in a fresh, sometimes gloomy way, with insight and wit. Great acting by the lead (Inukai Atsuhiro). Maybe it seems a bit like a caricature, a parody, and I expected a completely different ending, but how else should it turn out in that crazy Japanese premango world. It's just that Mob was "infected". Professionally shot and produced anyway.

Svěže, někdy i sklesle, s nadhledem a vtipem, "bojuje" Mob proti BL světu. Každopádně profesionálně natočeno a vyrobeno.

I rate this series, which ended with the tenth episode just today, very highly for its absolute ORIGINALITY. Gone are the school desks, walking in the corridors and chatter about nothing.
The north of Thailand has started, a remote village on the border and the whole story can be read by anyone who hasn't seen it.

Story 7: already mentioned originality, I deducted three points from perfection for some illogicalities such as a heart transplant, mistaking it for a soul, stretching to the edge in some scenes, a completely unnecessary departure for two years to the USA at the end - when two beings love each other, that's how they should prove it to themselves and not that they go apart or that one of them, long grown up, has to obey mom and dad. It's just that two grown men couldn't grasp their love firmly by the scruff of the neck and face it, and behaved like sleeping flowers without mutual physical contact, which is inherent to love, infatuation and mutual attraction.

Acting 8: the way the characters were written, they didn't require any super-professional performances to the bone. I liked Tian the most (I won't mention their real names) then there was the 3-man line-up from Waterboyy The Series - Phupha, yes, he's nice, but that role was just as thankless as his previous roles in other series - INDECISION, Dr. Nam he was excellent and the role suited him very well and a friend from Bangkok Tul OK.

Sound 10: nothing to complain about, beautiful opening song
Processing 10: originality, professionalism

If you like high school BL, you'll like this

It's quite a slowburn, I almost died, LOL.. I really love the last 2 episodes though, if only the 1st 6 are as lighthearted and funny too! It was quite slowpaced and monotone for 1st half of the show, but enough to keep you curious to watch.

It keeps me at 50/50 but I chose to continue, but I love the ending, so I'm glad I watched it

I love Ashiya, he is so funny in last 2 episodes, esp when he tried to confess. Oh my, so funny the things that happened.

Overall, it's pretty decent for a high school BL. It's like, a typical high school romance, fluffy and sweet, nothing special, if you may. Still a good watch, when you're in need of sth light.

Pets are a life long responsibiliy, and a lesson for life

I watched this drama slowly, on the one hand because of interruptions by other activities, on the other because of more interest in another small drama. I never skip but it is true that there was much repetition and that the "secret" was out of the bag too early to be really thrilled by the second half development.

The purpose of raising awareness about responsibility for adopted pets was worthy. It was developed into "case studies" that really showcased the chosen pets.

The drama could perhaps have been more realistic about some vet care, but on the whole, it pinpointed some facts. For instance, the relatively small number of guide dogs in China, but also a warning against seeing those as "workers" that could be used for years in demanding jobs such as guiding paralympic runners. Some care that actually amounts to mistreatment...

For those who want to know more about the "guest star animals", I have added a list of them, with episode number, and pictures, in the Discussion section, with an appendix listing the pets of some chosen Chinese celebs.

For the newbies and some hailang, on the eve of Singles day 11.11
here is an introduction to Z.Tao's music and a first Profile of the ML of "My Precious " (who played a role he is familiar with in real life!), illustrated, with links to more music and some fashion, luxury (incl. explanation of what some saw as a cryptic line in the song "Promise").

These are parked in the (always hidden, newbies have to be curious to find it, although it is not that difficult) Discussion section of "My Precious" drama. (Since MDL provides the introductions to dramas and shows, I have not (yet) added descriptions and links to those in this Profile, but you might nevertheless find it more useful than the ultra short bio and list of screen appearances on Z.Tao's page). I may expand on that in the future, and move the resulting Profile somewhere else later.

Best Quality Thai BL to Date

This show is definitely the best quality Thai BL to date, and it also outshines many other countries BL's for the quality of the story, acting and production value. Let's break it down:

THE GOOD:
- With regards to acting, they all had their designated roles and respective range of emotions to portray and they nailed it.
- For casting, no one was lacking, honestly. I personally really liked Jom, he was a mature ML the likes of which is very rare in BL's in general. In BL's the ML's (especially the 'sub' ML) are usually overly emotional, foolish, unreasonable or just don't have much control over doing things sensibly and sometimes they even lack dignity, but Jom was very centered and self respecting which was just fantastic imo. I really think we should see more of that.
- The story felt very complete imo and the production value was good for the show too, the location for shooting was very suitable and believable.
- The characters in this are all very likeable, honestly, and their relationships and relationship developments were so well paced and portrayed. From the 'higher class' to the 'slaves', all of the relationships and friendships had their own depth and importance to the story.
- The supernatural nature of this story was well written, and it was just enough to be a little eerie and interesting, but subtle as well, not overdone.
- The ML's chemistry was spot on. A sensual approach to intimacy more than a sexual one, so it was sexy but also emotional and quite beautiful.
- The secondary couple was GL, which was such a nice change and so well portrayed as well, also good chemistry.
- The choice Ueang Phueng made to terminate her pregnancy was well written and portrayed well, it was also an important story line with a final decision that was totally understandable and I think it was another very mature detail in this show.
- There was no overly predictable scenes and especially no awkward, comical long drawn out slow mo scenes. Also, everyone wasn't conveniently in everyone else's business all the time for no good reason.

There was no BAD or UGLY in this.

HIGHLIGHT:
- The emotional depth of this was great and wasn't buried under the idea, and in favour of, the show technically being a BL.

I would 100% recc watching this.

"It was whole five years. I healed the wounds of his .He fulfilled my first young love "

It had the best writing ,best acting, best music ,best everything !

Firstly about all the actors ,they did very well with micro expressions .Apart from the leads ,I loved the acting of the ' sang yan ' and the 3 other friends of sang zhi .

coming to the writing , it was damn realistic and yet interesting . I need to appreciate the attention to detail . I know that it is adapted from novel but still the team did very well in adapting the story into a drama and making it very memorable .

genreally music dominates the scenes mostly ,which diconnects the viewer ,but here it's completely contrast ,music blends with the visuals and uplifts them .Music at the emotional breakdowns of sang zhi and Duan 'll make viewer emphatize with them . I could write pages about the music of this drama .

I repeat everything about this drama is so perfect ! It is a one such drama that a keen drama watcher should never miss at any cost !

I just want to brainwash / erase my brain and want to join Duan and sangzhi 's story from the very start again !

I think there'll be no sequel but i'll be very greatful if there is something like that ,just i want to see them again 😭

I'm not sure why the rating is this high

This is my first ever review because I am genuinely very confused, this drama was made for someone like me, I enjoy student teacher romances when fictional, and i was really excited to see a new series exploring that dynamic. But I have to be honest, for a lot of it i was bored, it felt like there wasnt much of a story at all and what story there was, was extremely simplistic. Not only that, I felt there wasnt much of a reason for the two to like each other, they liked each other since episode one and we were just supposed to accept that a student and teacher would somehow have crushes on each other without much interaction outside of the classroom before the attempted suicide in episode one, students have crushes on teachers all the time, but what good reason does the teacher have to have a crush on a student other than she was obedient in class and he found her attractive? Not really a good base for a healthy romance to me. But okay, once they do get to know each other outside of the classroom and their feelings are cemented as real, the whole relationship comes across as predatory and down right creepy, and thats coming from someone that likes this trope! I say this because their big connection is feeling like they dont belong, and being suicidal and lonely, which can be things that bond people, but it makes a relationship that is already inappropriate seem even moreso when you have a young and impressionable girl, struggling with her mental health, and a teacher who is using that as an excuse to spend time with her, and get closer to her, all the while being pretty jealous of those she gets close to, and being overall very immature and irresponsible. I understand that this is all a part of his character, and he uses humor/flirting to make her feel better, and at times it actually was effective and sweet, but i do think with this kind of topic the teacher does need to retain some level of responsibility and seriousness because it is a serious situation, and i dont find recklessly flirting at school, charming, even if it is meant to be a comedy, its also meant to be a romance, and i dont think its romantic to put someone you love at risk of being expelled, and throwing away your career. So i guess a lot of my problems came down to his character specifically, i didnt like that he constantly called her highschool girl, as it made it seem like a fetish and that any girl fitting her profile would have sufficed, and i didnt like the whole back story with his highschool teacher, it threw off the whole story. The assumption I made was that they are paralleling his romantic relationship with his HS teacher with his relationship with this highschool girl, as they were literally doing the same scenes as he did in the past, but no, they throw a curveball and say that his teacher was like family to him. What?? You do realize when you parallel scene by scene with this new relationship with Mikoto, it comes across that he views her as family as well, right? I just think it was a waste of a storyline and a failed attempt to make Mikoto and Jin's relationship seem like it had more depth than it did, just because she finally knew one thing about him now.
I think part of my disappointment is that there actually was some stuff I liked about the drama, i did think some scenes were genuinely funny, and I think the acting was pretty good, and they looked good together and there were a few sweet scenes, but i almost think the drama didnt know what it wanted to be. I believe that if there was no romance, and instead Haiba was more of a goofy, fun loving big brother figure, the constant "Highschool girl" and the confusing parallel to his own teacher being family, would make a lot more sense narratively, but i think they knew there's less people interested in a story like that, so they made it a romance, even when it didnt fit the characters personalities, and general vibe. Because here's the thing, a teacher helping a struggling student find friends, happiness and providing guidance sounds like an amazing plot! But when you add in the fact that he has romantic feelings for her, rather than professional or familial, it makes his intentions a lot less pure and kind of ruins that storyline altogether for me, its kind of like you have to pick and choose, and they didnt do that here, it was just a weird mash up of stuff that never felt satisfying. But clearly, based on the rating, im in the minority on this one!

A remake please!

I love the story of Otomen and I enjoyed this drama immensely but….it’s kinda old -made in 2009- and I doubt I can find sites where I can rewatch. So far I’ve been getting my Otomen “fix” at Dramacool but this site is getting banned a lot and also the film quality seems to be getting worse. I hope that one day someone in the film industry will have the idea of remaking this story…and perhaps add more kickass scenes, especially the one where both ML and FL fought the hooligans off.
(I was quite upset when that episode ended without showing the fight, and the next episode didn’t pick it up where it ended previously)
