I wanted this to be a series of episodes instead of a movie. I wanted more-more-more! It was a pretty breezy story, a small dalliance into the world of love triangles, but otherwise a simple and sweet watch. The story of the two main leads was good, just enough drama about their lives to give it some meat, but not too much to detract from the flow of the movie. Yukari’s story was fun and fresh and just a treat to experience. Though what I loved the most about this show was the cast of the Paradise Kiss label. They were quirky and eccentric and spiced up the feel. However, even beyond the main characters themselves my absolute favorite character was Isabella. What an amazing story! As I said, I wanted more of everything! I wanted the time to sink my teeth into these characters and learn more about them and see how they lived. This gets two thumbs up for sure! I absolutely recommend it!

OMG I was so stoked just to watch Parakiss, I was screaming at the opening credits. Like most I read the manga and watched the anime series, both made me eager to see the live action adaptation. Some live actions do NOT work but I really think this one did. I actually like the movie and probably will watch it again.

Most criticize the story line for the movie, and yes if you have seen the anime it is a watered down version of the original story. Look people they have to sell it to a general audience, so of course instead of seeing an awesome neon color, you are getting pastels. The ending was changed, parts are left out and a lot of it felt rushed. The characters are a watered down version from the original story as well, which kind of made me upset but I understand I guess. Miwako is not as colorful and child-like, Arashi is not as punk rockish or ecchi, and Isabella really looks like a dude playing a woman. They did get George's suave essence, but they missed how much of a jerk he was. Well I understand that you have to sell it, so it was ok.

They did leave out characters and story lines, so the story centered on George and Yukari, and her dreams which is cool, I would have wanted to see Miwako's sister though.

The only parts I really didn't like was the fashion (Where did they go to get all the clothes in the movie the 1980s?) and Yukari's model poses (she literally uses all the same ones!). Other than those, I loved seeing another interpretation of a great story that never quite felt completed. I loved the ending and seeing that many cute guys didn't hurt either.

p.s. Keiko can NOT cry. it was awful.

A story about confidence and finding something you're passionate about, along with friendship and romance.

I find this to be a calm paced and somewhat cute movie. I havent read the manga or seen the anime so I cannot compare it in any way, but from what I've seen through this movie it seems like a sweet story.

Some parts, I didn't like as much, and I (for once) didn't like the main male character. Some of the things he did seemed rather off to me. The storyline could have dug a little deeper and the romance is not as much in focus as I had expected. Still there are some really good and touching scenes and in the end, I enjoyed the movie.

Live Actions either surpass or disappoint their originating works. I believe that this movie actually surpassed my expectations. I pretty much liked how George is kinder and softer than in the anime. And most importantly, I loved the ending of this than the anime's. It was also commendable that there were no substantially missing parts in the movie unlike other adaptations which are literally stuffed, that though you hadn't watched the anime, you could still comprehend the story completely.

The reason I'm doing this review to the film "Paradise kiss" is because since I saw him was about a month and a half ago, he is in the top 5 of my list of favorite movies, specifically in 2nd place !!
I really loved this movie, for various reasons like the cast, the soundtrack, the story, which comes from the anime that has the same name as the movie, and more ....
I'll start by talking about the casting! \(*o*)/

Kitagawa Keiko makes Hayasawa Yukari / Caroline, to begin the look of the actress it attracts me a lot, even as a woman I really liked the look of her during the drama, has a strong personality and stubborn at the same time. I saw no downside in the way of how the actress played the character.
Mukai Osamu plays George, perhaps what attracted me the most was the fact that the character of George is very stylish, I loved the way he dressed, especially the fact that always or almost always wear a hat, which in this case was still giving more style . as the actor represented the character is something that can not be discussed, at least I have not seen some flaws in their interpretation.
The secondary characters that belong to the group of George are all very well done, I especially liked Isabella, is a sensible character with others in the group and I think it's kind of considered the "mother" of them.
Now I'll talk a little of the sound track and compare it with the anime.

In the movie I liked a lot of the songs were actually a bit addictive, but continued to like it more the songs from the anime. Are a little different, so can not be compared too. At least the songs that are most played in the film are from the singer YUI ("Hello" and "You" are the ones that are most played)

The Story of the film is not very fuge from the anime, but as a film it is normal that parts of the anime they could not contribute to the film were cut out, but I still have not seen virtually no difference, other than a small difference that will not tell because, otherwise, I am considered a SPOILER: P!!!

Well, I end my first review (oh I'm so happy * v *) I hope it has helped as much as possible and until next;)

It's hard to not compare the movie to the manga because the manga is what made want to watch the movie. Still, I know better than to expect a movie to be exactly like the manga or anime. I'm totally fine with a different ending or different situations that don't follow the original story line. I think that makes the movie unique. With that said, I was still disappointed with this movie.

The story is good. I know the story from the manga. Even if the movie decided not to follow the manga at all, the concept is still good enough to make the movie great. It's a realistic concept. A student who hasn't developed a sense of self. Another student who helps her find her way. So how? How did this movie fail me? The execution was poor. Everything seemed like it took place in a matter of three days. There was no real transition and growth within the characters. It was just -this is the character -this is the situation -And this is the end. Where was the climax? There wasn't moment when I held my breath. Romance? Where? The romance was so sudden and poorly executed that I was confused. When did they fall in love and how? And I know this may sound crazy but the fashion was't there either. It was just enough for the viewer to understand that they liked fashion. Her hair wasn't all that and neither was her outfits. Throughout the movie I was wondering what was their budget.

The cast was okay but it could have been much better. I don't feel like the characters were defined. Where was the personality? The arrogance from George, the indecisiveness and determination from Yukari, the bubbly personality from Miwako. What I saw was actors not characters.Where was the chemistry? And once again where was the romance? I was disappointed with Yukari with the whole modeling thing. That could have been acted out much better. She didn't look like a model during the photo shoot and runway. Nothing looked natural. The characters had no growth. What was the moral of the movie?

I would watch this again, but not anytime soon. Overall the movie was okay but it's not anything I would buy. The movie left a stale aftertaste. It's not leaving any lingering thoughts or feelings like other movies do. Movies like this need eye candy at least. This concludes my long review. If you love the manga or anime then this is not for you. ^_^

So I haven't seen the anime or read the manga so my review is based solely on the movie.

I was very excited to watch this movie because I really liked all the main actors and it looked beautifully made but in the end I was left with somewhat of a disappointment.

Kekio was dull, Osamu didn't do the "I'm cool and mysterious" thing well enough, Aya and Kento looked great but their story line wasn't polished off well (I was more interested in them than the leads' story) and Yusuke was the saving grace of this movie cuz his acting was the only convincing thing here.

I don't mean to bash the movie, I enjoyed the movie enough to say I don't regret watching it, but I feel like had this movie been made into a drama instead it would have been for the better. I felt like it started off very well but then it plateaued and then kinda dropped near the end storyline-wise. I wasn't convinced with anyone's feelings or actions towards anyone else so to me the last 1/4 of the movie wasn't as heartfelt as it could have been. It felt like for the second half of the movie we got little spurts of everything and so I didn't feel the connections between any of the characters.

The music and the color schemes were beautiful (visually it was very pleasing) and its always nice to see beautiful actors doing their thing on camera but that's not enough to get me to re-watch it unfortunately... unless they do a spin-off with the other characters other than the main ones and turn it into a drama, with extra melodramatics and angst lol.

But like I said I don't regret watching it so I guess I would say "watch it if you've got and 1 3/4 hour to kill and like these actors just don't go in with too high expectations like me:)"

I was a fan of the anime and the manga, so I was really anxious to watch this.. And to say I was disappointed is putting it mildly. The original story was perfectly written, and if the movie had followed that, this movie would have been awesome. But, unfortunately no, they didn't do that. The reasoning behind the 7 overall is, that in and of itself, it wasn't bad, just high expectations not met.

I gave the story an 8 simply because, the original story was so perfect, and while the movie's script didn't match that perfection, it did give a decent try at it.

Acting wise.. can I just say DULL.. Kitagawa was not made for this role, she annoyed me to no end. Mukai, as George, was decent, but you could tell he was acting for a certain demographic, not actually being George. The other's played their roles very well.

I don't really remember the music, hence a 4.

Re-Watch is a 4 simply because I did re-watch it before writing this.

Overall-I gave it a 7 because it wasn't awful, but it wasn't as great as it could have been. If you are a huge fan of the Anime or the Manga, then do NOT watch this.

Just watched. Opinion: quite negative. Probably because I had too high expectations of it. It seemed overrated to me though.

Story: Not original, but it had a scenario that usually appeals to me.

They made nothing of it though. There was something lacking throughout the entire film, and I can't tell exactly what. It's a shame that they had quite a good story to work with yet they ruined its potential.

It seems like they wanted to focus on too many aspects and didn't go into depth with either. So it kinda left you wanting more and more.

The chemistry between the leads - not really present... There were sparks thrown here and there, yes, but inconsistent and not intense enough so they didn't make much sense. Maybe that's what they call a realistic movie though.

The relationship between Yukari and her mother? Briefly explained and quickly resolved.

Yukari's inability to find her true self? Perhaps that's what this was about mostly, but it was still poorly shaped. I would've loved to see the story focusing more on that.

In my opinion, if you're gonna add romance, add it properly or leave it out completely, else it's pretty pointless. I would've liked it if they could develop each side of this story more, or at least choose one main aspect to focus on. It also felt like it dragged on for quite a bit.

Overall it's an enjoyable movie for when you're really bored. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.

First i watch paradise kiss's anime then i read manga.Well Ai Yazawa is a great manga author. Not only her drawing style her story writing style is different and awesome! The way that she describe characters are awesome also the cast of the movie were right choices to.

I knew Keiko Kitagawa from sailor moon and fast and furious. Osamu Mukai made an outstanding job in mei-chan no shitsuji.

Well i always happens in movies they change the plot a little bit or cut scenes.I think there was no need to that.In manga and anime the ending was different-actually the movie ending was pretty good too but i prefer ai yazawa's endings:)

Back grounds and places in movie are absolutely excellent!Music was nice so i would like to rewatch the movie again^_^

I haven't seen the anime and read the manga but this movie was great! :D The story is complete and looks average but the happenings makes it different.
About the actors/actresses Japan knows who to chose for the characters. We get to know the feelings of each character and understand them better. Also love the fashion/clothes in this movie. So if you haven't encountered "Paradise Kiss" before you'll still like this movie. Hope so :D

This movie is my favorite movie ever. If my week was bad i think of this one to lighten my mood.

The story was great. just watching it, it makes me feel like i can do anything if i set my mind to do it and work for it.

The acting was outstanding, and the guys were easy on the eyes if i do say so myself. They all did an amazing job. And had me wishing that i had a bunch of friends such as them.

Now for the Music... I never really remember the music in dramas or movies, i only think about how the music is used in the story. All of the music that was picked out is amazing.

Over all i think that every one should watch this movie. ITS GREAT!
