When I first tried to watch Healer, it was last year after it had recently come out. I watched the first few episodes, thought it had an interesting premise (although healer seemed a bit like spiderman to me). For some reason, I think because of school, I wasn't able to devote time to really invest into watching it.
As I am trying to finish shows that I put off over the last year, I picked Healer back up where I left off, and within days have binged watched it because I was sucked into the storyline. I loved the interwoven storyline, the way that all of the characters were connected, and how sometimes the audience got glimpses of the past overlaying the present. Very cool.
The one thing I could have wished a little bit more for is a more concrete 'happy ending' but, given that this is more action based, I am happy that the plot resolved nicely. I'm just a sap who wanted more mush at the ending I suppose.
All in all, I ended up loving this drama about halfway through it. I loved the suspenseful elements, and how they kept the action all the way until the last few minutes of the show.
(I only marked the music down, because they use the song throughout the drama, as they do in many dramas, but it was used in every episode).

I feel like a giddy child watching this drama. For a series with such a serious revenge plot and all the political entanglements, it managed to make me feel all mushy and emotional when I was through with the 16th episode. Truly an unforgettable drama with amazing cast, amazing music (you will find yourself singing Eternal Love weeks after you finish Healer, that's a guarantee), amazing plot with very minimal plot holes.
Male Lead - PERFECTION, like lol I was shook at how flawless this man is. Ji Chang Wook is just BURNING I this drama and whenever he fights the bad guys, I fangirl over and over. Ok, apart from his personal perfection, he was also perfect with the female lead. I'm all about the CHEMISTRY between the leads and damn, these two really delivered, their lil kiss on a certain episode is OOH LA LA, would probably bring me back from a coma if I was ever in one.
Female Lead - Funny as hell and is actually an USEFUL character, not one of those whiny little. bitxches that needed to be saved by the male lead every episode. She has an interesting arc and I was actually interested to know more about her as a character and not just for the romance with male lead.
This drama reminded me of City Hunter but it's so different. I love City Hunter to death but when compared to Healer, it lacked in emotional depth and the back story of Healer is more convincing and well put together for sure.
If you want to laugh, want to swoon, want to cry, want to get mad at the bad guys and want to cheer when our badass hero & heroine fuvked them up, please don't skip Healer. DON'T SKIP IT, IT'S JUST THAT BLOODY GOOD.

I’m five years late to this drama, but I still loved it more than the recent action k-dramas I’ve watched. It balanced action and romance, humorous moments with intense moments. The characters had layers, and the conspiracy was formidable but not convoluted.

Ji Chang Wook shines in the action scenes as “Healer”, made me laugh out loud as the scaredy-cat Bong Soo, and also captured the vulnerability and sadness of Jung Hoo. Park Min Young played the courageous, principled young reporter perfectly, and I loved her relationship with her dad. I loved every scene between Jung Hoo and Yeong Shin. Also, the hacker lady was a real scene-stealer.

If I had to point out some weaknesses I’d say that I thought Detective Yoon would be a bigger part of the story, but he disappeared there toward the end. Also, things wrapped up so quickly in the end. But overall, I enjoyed this so much.

Amazing! It is as good, if not better than City Hunter, which was so far my favorite action drama, and this one trumps it. Drama has it all: Fast-paced action, forbidden romance, murder mystery surrounding childhood friends, missed connections and reconnected family, political thriller, etc. Ji Chang Wook managed to make the action scenes look really bad ass and cool and so hot and sexy at the same time. His performance as Healer and alter-ego dorky nerd Park Bong Soo are equally endearing. Park Min Young also slays as the inquisitive reporter and their chemistry on-screen is sizzling. The rest of the cast, especially Kim Mi Kyung, round up the drama with solid acting skills. Healer sets the bar when it comes to Korean Action drama, will be hard to beat.

I was hooked from the start to the last episode

Watched this show twice now. I think it's beautifully written with the write blend of intrigue, action packed drama and enough romance to give it a heart and soul.

Some components of the show ain't that new, just with the right execution. Like how the ML and the FL was related to some kind of childhood trauma.

The actors did a great job here. They did have good onscreen chemistry. Plenty of times they almost made me want to cry.

Like the relationship of the FL with her stepdad and the relationship of ML with his mentor, it was so different but both are so beautiful.

I also like the backstory provided. It sets up the tone / vibe of the show, not annoying at all.

I feel like I'm a lost sheep because all these reviews about Healer out here is somewhat alien to me. The first few episode were okay in my opinion but felt dragging afterwards. I couldn't get along with the rhythm of this drama and felt tiring to complete it. It may be because I was too late to watch this drama. The same I felt with most of the dramas before 2015. Just an average experience at the end but not too disappointing. The romance seemed unrealistic most of the time. Impressed with Yoo Ti.

If ever you didn't watch it yet, you will miss a breathless, beautiful, and delightful part of your life! No other drama, Korean or otherwise, can touch you as intensely or deeply. Even after many re-watches, you still can feel the wonderful feeling spreading from your heart throughout your body, every time. It will be forever etched in your mind and heart.

Parkour guy gets revenge on everyone for missing out on the olympic gymnastics team.

I tried. I really tried.

Through 9 episodes, I was praying this show would pick up. Surely, I thought, "it must pick up, I'm missing something here; I've pushed through mediocre beginnings before. It seems like a well rated and popular show. Show me something, anything, even one likeable character to hang on to". I waited patiently, but nothing materialized through nearly the 50% mark of this show; close to 10 hours of development. That's simply not acceptable for me - to have zero positive elements to experience or look forward to. I can accept a blend of bad and good, but an absence of any good is a complete turnoff.

First off, the music was noticeably bad and corny. Music, at worst , should be neutral, unmemorable, and not distracting. It's a sin if it stands out as bad. At that point, I'd rather there be no music. Just cut it out.

Second, in most shows, I can usually criticize the plot/writing more than acting or directing. In this show, the plot was actually the 'best' element, and it was still mediocre (5/10). Picture this: a young man parkours his way across building rooftops while chasing a vehicle through the city, he dives through people's windows into their living rooms while they're watching TV; he's being aided by a 50s tech hacker wizard with frizzy wild hair who can hack any computer, CCTV, etc., in real time, and bark directions to parkour guy on where the car is going; by the way, the hacker and parkour guy don't know each other's true identities but work together in this risky way with high trust; they must sense each other's age through voice because parkour guy speaks formally to hacker wizard; parkour guy is able to keep up with the car and doesn't even seem out of breath, never trips or loses his footing - oh and it is nighttime, too; he gets into fights with thugs, does gymnastics high bar routines while politely hitting thugs; no one knows parkour guy's identity because he wears shaded glasses and dark clothing with the top of his face covered; he has no morals and gets paid to do a variety of sh*t for mostly privileged and immoral men; without a doubt, parkour guy is just venting, displacing his anger for missing out on the Olympic gymnastics team; do you want me to keep explaining this further or do you get the picture?

There are long scenes with corny music and implied plot development. For example, check out episode 9, 27:00-29:00; it is two minutes where character A is thinking about character B wistfully, while character B is watching character A secretively. Guess where Character B is? They are parkouring their way across rooftops following Character A through random parts of the city 'protectively watching them'. 2 whole minutes. This scene isn't a sole transgression, there's quite a bit of this. Again, let me remind you, the plot is the strength in this show.

Third -and this is the first show for me in about 80 shows -I felt the acting across the board was, at best, mediocre. I cannot believe how average to bad some of the acting is in this show. I'm not even talking about I didn't connect with 'characters'. I'm talking straight up mediocre acting performance. Sadly, most 'characters' didn't even have a chance to shine even if the design was decent, because the acting was corny, unnatural, forced. Joo Yeon Hee? Intellectually, we are supposed to feel bad for this character's circumstances; instead I felt bad they were written and acted the way they were. I've enjoyed Park Min Young in a few shows, perhaps not super impressed, but enjoyable enough. I could not stand the character of Chae Yeong Shin and the acting was off. Awkward singing, overacted do-gooder, ridiculously naive, and lacking tact, Yeong Shin was difficult to watch and root for. Her romance with Seo Jung Hoo or "Healer" was plain awkward. The first kiss they share while they cannot see each other, is uninspiring; in some reverse alternative universe, the girl now, not Healer, has the upper part of her face covered. She was not skeeved out at all getting kissed on a rooftop by someone she can't see and doesn't know; maybe all the viewers that rated this show 10/10 like that kind of romance. Aigoo, I've had better kisses with pillows. Serious!

Sometimes, a show is not that high quality, but I understand what's happening in the plot well enough to skip the less interesting bits so I can enjoy the parts or characters that are enjoyable. In Healer, there wasn't anything for me to enjoy. Healer is the first show I wanted to fast forward, but couldn't because the plot was complex enough, that to fast forward scenes would impact comprehension. To comprehend, I had to watch. Ultimately, I could not justify doing that for another 10 hours.

I'm genuinely confused at what the high raters experienced.
