This movie is one of the best Korean Thriller movies.
- The storyline, the scenes, the characters work together in an amazing way that make every audience watching will be completely into it. There are not many Thriller/Detective Korean movies/dramas can attract me in like this movie.

- Actors/Actresses here are supernatural also. I love Jo Jung Suk from Oh My Ghost because his character on that drama but he on Time Renegade has very diffenrent character. That really shows his talent. Lee Jin Wook & Im Su Jeong are both excellent that admited through many sucessful projects before and they have done well here.

- Scenes about the mudder really make me transpire

- Same storyline with Signal but this movie is defenately better.

This movie is like a fun-sized bag of trail mix; it's great and has a variety of ingredients, but it is just too small and leaves you wanting more

PROS:
+ Well written plot that has both complexity as well as sound resolution
+ Great acting performances that add to the experience, especially during tense scenes
+ Powerful and moving score accompanies that action very well

CONS:
- Some aspects of the investigation are unnecessarily complicated
- It has a shorter run time, which makes certain details feel rushed over due to the fast pacing
- The conclusion (after past events that alter the future) is done in a soft and sappy way, rather than a more believably realistic way, which feels a little silly and loses some emotional impact

Yes! This one is great. It is a high recommendation, especially if you like time travel and non-linear plot progression.

Fast paced thriller with mild brain twisters

I kept this movie in planned to watch list long back after impressed by the trailer.finally watched it.This film has smart time traveling elements to it.There was no ambiguity in understanding two timelines and the concept was brilliantly executed within 90 to 100 mins.

It was not difficult for me guess the muderer. But still it was intresting to watch till completion. Both male leads are already my favorite.
Heroin also a familiar face from "Chicago typewriter " drama.Surprisingly that drama also had part period film/Part present scenes/Rebirth concepts like this film. All actors did their job best.

It was not boring anywhere I havnt affected/touched when main charcter dies.it may be because there is not deep scenes to show the main pairs love due to time constraint of the film. But within 1 and half hours showing 2 parallel stories and with different period of time is a great job.
Climax also gave me satisfied feel. So its really a worth film to spend ur 1 and half hour time. One time watch for sure

A Messy Time Travel Story That's Pretty Fun

With a title that invokes invokes 90s fare like "Timecop" or "Sudden Death", Time Renegades is not quite the sci-fi/action B-movie of Jean Claude Van Damme's career peak (but its got that spirit, for sure).

Butterfly Effect time travel lay the crux of the film's narrative, which follows a music teacher from the 80s and a detective in the year 2015, attempting to prevent the deaths of 49 students and several women.

Like "Timecop", both characters are driven to save a woman they care about from (certain) death, but the story isn't so predictable that you'll be counting the story beats in chronological order as they come along, but they kinda come out of left field most of the time.

I think the most surprising thing about the story is that the detective actually admits to dreaming about the past like it's the most natural thing in the world, and none of his co-workers call him 'crazy' or 'psycho' (as you do in this genre). They just kinda say, "That's weird, but okay", and go about their day.

Like most K-dramas that introduce a serial killer element into their plot, the writing goes hard on the melodrama (to the detriment of the film), and the villain comes off as unintentionally comedic as the actor mugs, shrieks, and widens their eyes to communicate the character's madness.

The film's tone flip-flops between deadly serious and sustained bouts of comedy (mostly performed by Lee Jin-Wook), all of which is sandwiched between schmaltzy romance and conversations about reincarnation.

"Time Renegades" is a good time for the most part. It's time travel aspect isn't overly flashy, certainly makes a mess of its story (and to such a degree the time travel aspect is really treated like a get-out-of-jail-free card), but the performances are solid, and I think (sans the ending) the story is worth your time.

Tell me what you dream at night...

Time Renegades was an entertaining if flawed movie. Two men 32 years apart share memories during their dreams after each had a near death experience.

This film had a strong cast which helped gloss over some of the bigger plot holes. I liked the premise of the story even if it was used erratically. A school teacher in 1983 tried to stop a serial killer using knowledge from a detective in 2015. Geon Woo, the detective, researched past murders which didn’t do much for the present but helped Ji Hwan in the past. Only one character attempted to use Geon Woo’s connection in a more direct manner, something I thought Geon Woo would do. There were a couple of serious lapses in logic and continuity for dramatic effect. One moment which I’m sure was meant to be melodramatically devastating actually made me laugh at its obviousness and relatively low stakes.

The film was strongest in the past, largely due to Jo Jung Suk’s performance as the grieving teacher determined to alter the deadly course of events set in motion. Ji Hwan’s love for the children and desire to avenge a death made for great motivation. Geon Woo’s romantic entanglement with So Eun felt less well developed. While there was no physical time traveling, the consciousness of the men traveled as needed. The ending was the type that I like the least in this genre and one that makes the least sense to me.

Despite my reservations, I enjoyed this film as the two men tried to undo the tragedies of the past and the echoes of death and despair in the present. The film maintained a consistent stream of action so that it was never boring. Some of the performances were better than others. The Teflon villain became almost comical as he survived endless attempts to stop or at least slow him down. The movie’s solution was novel and felt like a nod to Back to the Future, if a more deadly nod. Time Renegades may not have been a dream come true, but this dream weaver was engrossing if not thrilling.

Stylishly back & forth in time !!

The movie works in 2 timelines, de present & past, as 2 different men experience near death experience at respective New Year's Eve. Dey share a bond wid dreams, seeing de events de other goes through in sporadic fashion.

De most convincing actor is Jo Jeong-seok& he is also the 1 who brings some more drama into the movie and thus also makes us more interested in the story. Furthermore, we are constantly led up de garden path until a twist clarifies things. Aesthetically speaking, slick lensing lends a soft & a warm tone 2 de 1983 romance segments, and a gritty, lived-in look 2 de more recent detective thriller sections.

VERDICT _ Fans of twisty time-travel tales will relish this one; it's worth the subtitles.

Yesterday I watching this movie on my TV in one Turkish Television & I understand everything without any subs or something else... Just my fellings & eyes on the screen... Today I rewatching the movie with my mother & the feelings are still the same. I will shall never forget yesterday & now. Forever captured in my heart. Unforgettable.

Exhilarating and thrilling crime thriller

Watching a time travel film after completing a time travel drama with the same lead actor is something lol. However, I was not bored as it is definitely a very different type of story despite being the same genre. I love the thriller, mystery and fantasy elements of it all. The set design for the past timeline was done very well. It was an exhilarating and thrilling crime mystery. The performance from the actors was amazing. The romance from both timelines is very convincing and equally appealing.

Like Signal but so much better!

I must watch anything involving time: time travel, time slip, parallel universe, reincarnation (though I must admit I am not a fan of time skip the K dramas adore!). The title of the movie made me expect something with a lot of action and a rag tag kind of a hero. Nothing of the sort. Still really good but this is not an action flick! Points OFF for the title!!!

The film tells a story of two men connected by a same accident at the same place at the same time but 32 years apart. After that incident they start dreaming about each other. The man in the past is a teacher and the one in the present, a police detective. When the teacher's girlfriend gets murdered, the policeman helps him find the murdered and save other victims.

The story is very reminiscent of Kairos and Signal and being a movie, it is tightly woven and more exciting than a long drawn drama. And it is all the better for it! Time slip stories are very difficult to make believable because the logic always interferes and plot holes are usually many. They managed to avoid those traps. There is a logical answer to everything.

The characters were also well written and especially the girlfriend who, for once, is not a damsel in distress but a brave and smart woman with brains. That was refreshing. The actor playing the detective is probably one of the worst actors I have ever seen: his voice is monotonal, his acting bland and his face pretty and empty of all feeling. Points OFF for bad acting!

The ending is perfect as well: the murderer having been caught in the past, the life was put on a parallel course with the original timeline and therefore everything changed in the life of the detective. Smart and logical!

Time Renegades is an excellent film, quick, suspenseful and entertaining watch. Bad title though! lol

Interesting concept with great performance...

...and too short of the run time.

The movie presents an interesting take on the time travel stories. The only connection between the two timelines happens in dreams. This sadly created a pacing problem.

The characters could not easily and actively confirm if what they are seeing is just a dream or an actual different timeline. The introduction to the story just took too long, and as a result, the investigation and cooperation between Geon Woo and Ji Hwan felt rushed and underdeveloped. The potential behind their connection was barely used.

The movie did a great job with fleshing out the characters. The performance of the whole cast was amazing. Jo Jung Suk killed all his emotional scenes, and the subtle effect they had on Geon Woo as a character was perfectly executed by Lee Jin Wook.

Additionally, Time Renegades is simply beautiful. For a crime and detective story, it has quite a number of calm, relaxing, and pretty sceneries, especially in the first half and the closing scenes.

Sadly, the ending was disappointing. The effect the changes in the past had on the present storyline had close to zero sense. Some characters, who had no connection to the past events, had their fate changed without proper explanation. It just didn't click well, felt forced and over the top. They tried to introduce unnecessary plot twists and connections that just didn't work well.

Overall, it was still an enjoyable watch. Some decisions made by characters were questionable and gimmicky (the way they dealt with the main villain was laughable), but I guess that was also the charm of the movie. Adding some run time or making the introduction to the plot and characters shorter could solve some of the problems I had with it. Even with that though, I don't regret watching this movie.

I will watch just about anything related to time travel, so as soon as I saw this movie, I had to see it. I was NOT disappointed! The acting was amazing and the writing incredible. It was action packed and kept me guessing all the way through. If you're like me, you will be yelling at your screen!
