Gantz: Perfect Answer (2011)

This movie. /THIS/ movie. If you've watched the first Gantz, then you know the general story line and you pretty much know what it's about. Usually sequels ruin my love for the first movie, but in this case, the second movie made the first movie completely irrelevant. (I was religiously in love with the first movie.) This one has a lot more depth to it and the stakes are so much higher in this movie, since they all aren't oblivious to what they're facing anymore. There's a lot of emotions thrown around in this movie, but it just makes it that much more memorable to me. This movie is easily my number one favorite movie.

How can you watch the first Gantz and not watch the sequel? Even though this movie was not as action packed as the first, it was used as a vehicle to explain a lot of what was going on. The game continues and you get to see the affects and consequences of the game on both the humans and the aliens. I have to say, you kind of have to sympathize with both after watching this. Let's just say, after finishing this, I searched the web for the DVDs and purchased them immediately. Well worth it! Well worth watching. At first, I want to say that I'm not a fan of arashi and I didn't even know that this is a manga and anime. Accidentially I found this movie (and the first)in MDL and thought: "sonds not bad, can watch this" and now, here I'm writing my first review.

Story: It can be confusing at the beginnging but the more you watch more you understand. The storyline was great. It's a mix between supernatural and action and I love both.

Cast: I knew Nino by another drama but there I found him normal. Now I think he is one of the best japanese actors! But the whole crew made it - no, i can't say harmonic.. they complete each other and I was fascinated by Matsuyama too!

Music: The music fits in every scene. I think it could had be more but I like it very much.

rewatch Value: Now, I want to buy the DVDs.. xD I think that's say all. Maybe somone is scared off the 3 hours but every single sec it's worth!!

Overall: I only can say that this movie is a must! I laughed, cried and felt like a little kid by the zombie scenes xD Hope I could help *waves*

I love this movie eventhough I haven't read the manga and it's definitely a living testament that PART 2's are not always bad. I loved the first one and definitely love this one. The actors were definitely great.I actually prefer this PART 2 than the PART 1. I always adore Ninomiya Kazunari's acting and this movie is no exception. I love their tandem: Nino and Kenichi though I don't pretty much like Kenichi's role here. I can see a great chemistry between Nino's character and Yuriko Yoshitaka's role. I love the soundtrack because it really fits every scene in the movie, the heartthrobbing scenes and the action fight scenes. The story could be quite confusing at first but as you try watching it you'll be able to understand the flow.It's definitely worth watching if you prefer action. The ending is a must watch.

But really.. if you liked this 2 movie.. read the manga.. even if you read it in english [even tho i recommend to read it in japanese] you will get a much better story [the original] with way better character development, and better pacing, better explanations... the manga is a fucking emotion bomb with action, gore, nudity, romance, friendship, slice of life, adventure, the best character development that i ever seen etc,,, everything you can imagine that you need, you wont find any other manga like this i can guarantee that for sure!

Una continuación bastante decepcionante...

Si leyeron mi review de la primera película, ya sabrán lo contenta que me dejó "Gantz: Génesis". No solo me había parecido una adaptación más que decente, sino que también me gustó mucho como película. Bueno, no puedo decir lo mismo de esta segunda parte...

Ahora no voy a hablar de la adaptación en sí porque lo que leí del manga fue retratado en la primera película, esto ya era material desconocido para mí, así que no sé si las cosas en la versión original pasan así o no.

En fin, mi problema con Perfect Answer es, justamente, que no hay una perfect answer para nada. Estuve más de 2hs esperando algún tipo de justificación para algo y nunca llegó. Sinceramente esperaba que todos los planteos que se hicieron en la 1 tuvieran su conclusión acá, nunca pensé que iban a seguir sumando incógnitas para dejarlas en la nada. Literal me quedé con un millón de preguntas: ¿Qué es Gantz exactamente? ¿De dónde salieron los "extraterrestres? ¿Cómo funciona realmente todo? ¿Qué onda el investigador que anda rompiendo las bolas por ahí?...
Lo peor es que no estoy ni por asomo segura de que en el manga estas preguntas tengan respuesta, pero bueno, es el sentimiento que me dejó la película, qué sé yo.

Los actores siguen siendo muy buenos y las peleas están bastante bien, pero sigo prefiriendo la 1 incluso en cuanto a producción. Eso sí, las 2h 20min se me pasaron reee rápido, así que entretenida es (y el final safa) jaja.
