i thought i will take a pass on writing review for this. but synopsis not entirely right and i think it should be good if one knows that its not a fun, cheerful movie, but is a dark one with sad ending that hits you hard.

we find 4 friends getting into hasty trip to drop one of them into military. but a mishap happens involving tragic turn in their lifes. so they fight, suffer, lose themselves and much more. what exactly happened? will they hang in there? will they stick together? will they be able to come out of this?

ji soo is incredible.he gave a soul stirring act here. i love all his characters in recent times. ryu joon yeol excelled in his own way. rest were really good too. the way they pictured their lifes is different to. the actors who played their parents were decent. i just love halmoni here. it was painful for me to watch her.

ending is sad, frustrating. yet i liked it. i love the way characters ended up realistically. its hard to digest. i wonder why i exactly i liked it. i love the way its not predictable. so yeah, watch this for good story packed up with great performances. its worth your time.

Expecting a cheery coming of age tale? Well, so was I. That isn't what this film is. At all. Period. It's grueling and sad and tells the tale of an unfair ruling on 4 boys caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I won't get into much more detail than that, but I think it's necessary to warn unassuming viewers who go into it with the wrong mindset. This is no comedy.

The story itself is well paced and explores the human instinct to survive, however necessary. To protect one's innocence, however necessary. What is morally right and wrong? Do you pursue the truth, even when it may lead to the worst outcome for yourself? Or do you abandon your pride for freedom? Lots of thought-provoking themes are found throughout the film, and for that alone I give the story a strong 9 out of 10.

Acting and cast were also a strong point in this film. All of the leads surprised me with their powerful performances, especially that of Ji Soo. In many ways he was the one who carried this film.

Will I re-watch this film? Probably not. Not because it wasn't a great film, simply because it's draining to sit through. Flipping from present to past throughout the course of the movie, you get a glimpse of the misfortune they will face from the very first scene... and it grows in intensity until the end. There is no chance to catch your breath because things go down hill and down hill fast.

Overall, I do recommend this film. It was excellently made. But I caution you to go into it only with the intention that it's going to be an emotional ride...

It was so close to be called as masterpiece.. It carries a huge issue about our society and I give this movie a slow cap for pointing things out.. However, this can be called as masterpiece when you watch it while having deep feelings, when you watched it just to support a specific actor.. I think you should go out.
Looking at the teaser, we all find this movie so interesting, I can say it have reached half of my expectations but it also feels like it have left something to be desired.
Plot twists are good enough. Good blending of the actors and I will forever treasure their acting skills.

the plot of the movie is slow. i found myself waiting for something good to happen but that didn't. its a depressing movie. the acting is amazing i was crying like a baby but its so sad. bad friends. i didn't find any moral or lesson or message behind this movie, that's just my opinion. its not too bad but i wouldnt watch it again. this made me think way worse on the concept of "friendship". However i did enjoy the few funny moments between them which were SO little. also the acting was spot on.

This story could've been great, it really could've. They deal with many though-provoking issues such as:
-if you're poor do you have a chance to defend yourself?
-if you're a criminals child, are you automatically treated as a criminal?
-if you're famous, does your lack of privacy, cause you to do terrible things?
-are we as loyal as we claim?
and the list goes on.
For the most part these issues are well handled until the end. I found the characters Doo Man and Ji Gong realistically dealt with. My issue is with Yong Bi. What happens at the end with his character, is totally unrealistic, and really shows no development to that side. I ended up being very disappointed and the way they set up his story, I shouldn't have. I also thought Sang Woo's fate while realistic, a little too convenient. Overall, I thought the writers were trying too hard to make you feel depressed in humanity, and don't even give a solid reason for me to. I would sleep on this one, there are better social commentaries to watch.

I don't know what you might be going in thinking this movie will be but let me warn you right now that I got so emotionally invested it took me MONTHS to recover. I couldn't watch anything else, except K-pop and I think that alone should show you the brilliance of this piece of art.

This movie is a sheer masterpiece. It doesn't walk around cliches to force laughter and keep you engaged by trickery. It's a narrative that relies on visual story telling and dialog that will cut through your soul and force you to look at the world you keep ignoring.

It's not a coming of age story as much as the retelling of the very moment you become a pawn in someone else's game. The actors delivery is so on point, it becomes a grueling performance. It's the story of people who want to be heros, without realizing the sheer brutality of their world.

Ji Soo was the main lead, plays a young man who is not happy with his best friend's (Kim Junmyeon-Suho) decision to go to the military because of his grandmother's destitute financial situation. The entire first part is about Ji Soo convincing Suho not to go just yet so they can all go together. But Suho doesn't like the idea of his grandmother having to still work to pay for his tuition.

These two and two other boys also best buddies, all four of them decide to go on a drive and have a great time before their lives change forever and before they have to say goodbye to their friend for a long time. It's all kind of bittersweet and neither of them are able to convince Suho to stay.

They get drunk and are having a good time, when in their own car they see some odd movement in the car parked in front of them. Thinking the couple are making out, they all joke about it but suddenly the couple are outside the car and the man starts to viciously beat the woman.

Neither of them know what to do, and are cautious about getting out but Ji Soo has had enough of it and instead of listening to Suho, he ventures out and gets in the man's face stops him from hitting the woman. They start having an altercation and the other friends join in and they all try to get the man to stop but he continues to be violent and Ji Soo gets violent himself and it turns into a battle.

I feel like what happens next is something you should experience without spoilers.

All in all, this movie is a creative work of art that deserves more recognition and should not be avoided just because it's not a happy story.

For those that are looking for a light-hearted drama to curl up in bed, I can vouch for you this is not the one. I was mislead by the title and the synopsis and... yeah.

Initially I thought they were arrested, and then fast-forward to few years later, they're going on a trip. But I realised I had it backwards and from there it started to be depressing as hell.

I thought the writers did a wonderful job in portraying the cold, harsh truth of our reality. It made me sit for a while after the movie finished and thought about my friends, and the length I would go through if I were in a sticky situation like them.

Although the movie does not provide a proper closure and explanation for certain vital parts, I still feel this movie had done its job well in terms of the hidden messages behind the story. It is not a movie I would re-watch though.

world has got no justice

It took quite a while for me to be able to classify what "One Way Trip" actually wants to be and what its message is. To be precise i needed a good amount of patience, because only towards the end this becomes apparent.

VERDICT _ you can lose interest in this movie pretty fast. But if you manage to hold on until the end you will be rewarded with an exceptionally dark tone which leaves no doubt that the film could have turned out a lot better. Still, for its dark tone the drama deserves some praise....POOR SUHO

P. S I can't believe they made an entire movie just for Ji soo to cry in

ONE WAY TRIP is a 2016 film about friendship and youth. This boys were planning a trip before one of their friend go enlist in the military. But suddenly something bad happened on the said trip. The storyline is nice and they act so well esp Ji soo, you will really feel their emotions. You will feel dissapointed with the unjust that they experienced, sila na nga yung tumulong sila pa napasama. They were accused of something that they didnt do and their friendship were also tested in this situation, lalabas ang tunay na baho ng isa't-isa and dito mo rin malalaman kung sino talaga ang tunay mong kaibigan. I just dont like the ending because the real justice was not serve enough for them. And choose to point the blame to other for them to be safe. Maka-Sad ☹

**For the love of Ryu Jun Yeol hehehe but I dont like his character on the last part hahaha.

"One Way Trip" is a beutifully made movie, but I felt the description didn't match the film at all. It is not a film about four friends who have a good time on a road trip. No, it is so much more.
I only rated it with 9.5 because of the rewatch value as this isn't a movie I'd like to watch a lot as I was sad, angry, frustrated with all the unfairness towards the four boys.
The acting was fantastic and I was really surprised how well Kim Junmyeon/Suho did in his first movie!

I feel sad and empty. Ji Soo is way too good at giving me the feels as it is, but they also had to bring these four and put them through that story line to make me experience darkness. Nice.

For better or for worse this movie felt too real. Give it a watch.
