The drama focus on the actor who learn supernatural power since young and was order by his master to take care of a CEO daughter who is still studying in high school. There are many beautiful girls in this drama but the actor actually did not fall in love with any of them but only fantasy been with them. He save the actress and her father few times. Later he came across many students with supernatural power and they try to solve some cases and help each other.
The drama story was interesting until episode 15 only, the story changed totally after episode 16. It was so full of supernatural power and unlogic stories that you will no longer interested to continue. Out of a sudden the main actress and her best friend disappear from the story. Regret watching.

School Beauty Personal Bodyguard had so much promise… Why?!! Did it end like that???!! No!!!
The good. Lots of interesting story lines it seems like the drama was structured to go on for a really long time. Although the story is ridiculous and interesting at the same time there was a lot of really good character development. I really liked the usage of location and special effects, not to mention the fight scenes were interesting too. It felt like a super hero- martial arts comedy at first and that was really what made me like the story. Lin Yi the main male character is hot and there were lots of good fan service shots at the beginning. The actor who plays him did really well and made the character pervy, strong, funny, kind, intelligent, complex and interesting= a.k.a. perfect boyfriend material! :)
The bad. None, and I mean none of the story lines ended with a conclusion . In the beginning our hero is given a purpose that never comes to fruition, a mission that mysteriously changes, a love interest (kinda), and a secondary charge that we never see completed. I blame the writers. Around episode 17-20 the feeling and themes seem to change to include more martial arts, vendettas and focus on supernatural powers. Around these episodes there is certainly less lighted hearted comedy, and some characters never appear again. It was almost as if the side story took over and incorporated the main lead.
The characters were all good except the main female lead Chu Meng Yao, she was one of the most annoying damsels in distress. Aside from that I was really annoyed how the stylist didn’t match her weave to her hair (personal pet peeve).
Oh the music! The ending and theme songs were equally annoying so I ALWAYS skipped them.

The verdict. This drama broke my heart. I watched it, and fell in love with the light hearted comedy, the fluffy romance, cool martial arts concepts and abundance of cute guys. Alas it was all stolen from me, and although the story was good the ending was AWFUL. No one should have to deal with an ending that bad where there is no resolution at all, so I would not recommend this drama to anyone unless you want to torture yourself or you know there is a second season.

p.s. maybe they ran out of money?
p.p.s. I probably would have given this a higher rating if LinYi was shirtless more.
p.p.p.s at the end I audibly said "wait! what?! is that the end?!!" s.m.h.

OK, first off, I REALLY enjoyed this show. Secondly, this is NOT a romance. It sounds like one, but it isn't. It is a comedy about a young and horny martial arts master who's cushy bodyguard gig gets him embroiled with assassins, gangster bosses, and mutants.

Thirdly, I know this show has been a rocky road for some. Here is my take on the problems and you can use this to judge if you want to invest time in this show or not:

Yes, it has some pacing issues and does change radically from the beginning to the end. The first half kicks things off with him being the bodyguard for a rich college girl and is really comical and over the top. The future course of the story is hinted at early on in these episodes with the banned drugs, Han Bin's power fluctuations, and a mention of Pink Hair's terminal illness. As the show progresses you see less and less of the rich girl, less and less of the lead character being a total horndog (though that never *fully* disappears), and more and more of these other characters. I think the major problem for the show as the 30 minute format which made it impossible to keep accounting for all the characters each episode or to include silly hijinks. It also needed at least one more episode to give us a bit more closure.

Why I loved it despite that:
More than anything, the show is a comedy. The early episodes were really, really amusing. Lin Yi is such a horn dog and completely unapologetic about it. The humor is zany and quirky, but we still get to see him being a badass. The special effects for their thoughts were really cute and fun and those kept going throughout the series. I liked how they handled the special effects for their power and fights. Although I missed the inclusion of his earlier mission and the girls in later episodes, I was invested enough in the other storylines that I still liked what the show became as it grew more serious. I just wish there had been time to tie the A,B, and C plots together more smoothly for a more natural conclusion. I also enjoyed the music. Just the overall feel of the show was very fun and fresh.

I really enjoyed the first half of the drama... it started out really funny with hilarious interactions between the characters and great mysteriousness to the background of the main character. But as the drama went on, more and more mysteries were pilled on top of each other which then created a total mess. AND unfortunately, that mess wasn't cleaned up. At the end, it was just quickly wrapped up instead of giving clear explanations to the story.

Personally I wouldn't have minded 10 more episodes to really sort out the mess and explain each mystery. I wanted to give the drama much much higher rating due to the first part, but unfortunately my feelings were torn to two sides due to the last episodes.

Apart from the plot line, I liked the acting. I know at first it might seem silly and immature but I think that's the gem of this drama. The music was catchy as well.

So really all in all, not really worthwhile watching unless you are ready for a disappointing wrap up of the drama.

STORY..i want to kill that person who wrote this drama..the title are school beauty's personal bodyguard.. i know this drama genre are martial art.. but DON'T WATCH it !! i imagine that there are a bit romance between the bodyguard and the beauty.. that this is the story between the two of them..but what the hell is going on that suddenly starting from the last few episode, the beauty just missing in action..till the last episode, you won't find the beauty anymore.. and from there, they start to show us all the nonsense overly cg martial arts..and the last episode are just rubbish..how can they make the ending just like that.. it just like uncomplete drama but they make the last episode last minute just because they can't air the drama for the sake of cookies CF.

as for ACTING AND ACTOR.. i give a bit high score as that guy is cute.. hahah but still not worth it to watch whole 20 episode for him.. as for girl, they also did a good job on their character.

MUSIC, no comment bout it, not really pay attention to it,, actually didn't catch my attention at all.

REWATCH ?? oh i can't watch it again.. i just deleted the whole drama from my computer and my recycle bin..can't recover it..

I dont think this drama is as bad as some have said, the problem here (I think) lies with misinformation since the summary makes one think that he tries to woo her and thats not true, this is his story, a great martial artist / ex-special ops operative with a funny personality and who is assigned to protect a rich girl, AND its hilarious the antics played in this drama, there is also fighting but from another style not a jackie chan, Jet Li or Bruce Lee kind of movie. I think its a good one and doesnt deserve some of its poor reviews but I guess If I went lookIng for something and found a completely differrent kind, I would be pissed. This is a more of a relaxation-funny-as-hell-but-also-with-a-good-plot kind of drama.

Hope My review helped clear some misunderstandings and help you decide to watch this drama
