I always come back to this.

Are you feeling like watching something to forget your troubles? Have a laugh and squeal like a squirrel ?️? Watch splash splash love you really will not regret it.

I've watched it time and time and time and TIME again. And again.....

It's so funny and heartwarming it really makes you wanna go back to it.

This particular mini drama series how should we call it, gives off such an amazing vibe that always draws me back to it whenever I feel like I have nothing to watch.

Ridiculously good in my opinion, completely fictional but the historical element plays with your brain and leaves you at awe.

I really could not recommend anything more.

A little emotionally drained from watching C-dramas, I decided to take a break and chose the two-episode Splash Splash Love to detox. Wow. What a fabulous idea. To start, I loved the premise of a high school senior (yes, we know she’s a senior because we learn the word for high school senior and eunuch is the same…..kind of funny) who hates the idea of taking college entrance exams. Most especially, the young girl, who is called Eunuch through most of the film, believes she isn’t good at math and will do anything to avoid taking the test, including travel back in time.

The premise of the story is just that: Nineteen-year-old wants to avoid taking SAT’s because she believes she stinks at math (that was me). Through a trick of fate or divine intervention, she is sent back in time to the Joseon era and a King Se Jong Yi Do who is desperately trying to create a more educated society and between the two, hi-jinks ensue. I did some research and the story-line offers a fun explanation for the advancement in practical learning for this time period.

Kim Seul Gi plays Dan Bi or Eunuch and does a fabulous job. Never do we forget she is that nineteen-year-old girl struggling to find herself and her ambition, even when she gets the opportunity to go back in time. Her character is less than sympathetic in the beginning which makes watching her evolve over the next two episodes even more fun. She pulled off funny, sweet, daring, and showed that she did have brains despite her insistence that she didn’t.

Yoon Doo Joon was spectacular as the king. I love love love his performance, from the king frustrated with his backwards thinking government to the patient man putting up with Eunuch’s eccentricities, to the budding scholar learning his times tables. By the end, I loved the king as much as I loved the eunuch and wanted nothing more than the two to find each other in the twenty-first century and live happily-ever-after. I especially like the last scene between the king and the eunuch, superbly done.

The second leads played by Ahn Hyo Seop (very nice to look at in traditional peasant garb) and Jin Ki Joo (very happy when she tossed that wig on the ground) were not as developed as the leads, but did a good job portraying the kindly and talented characters they were. When he bandages her foot and she paints that instrument…….sigh, it was sweet. Both characters ended on a strong note and contributed nicely to the story.

The music went well with the show and with only two episodes, there was no getting tired of a many-times repeated song. The costumes were entertaining, and I did enjoy the interaction between old and new. Nothing was too cliché or too serious or too preachy but the show ends teaching us something and I like that. Splash Splash Love is perfect if you want to kick back, relax, and take in a little history while you’re at it.

Funny, informative and really, really sweet that makes gret use of TYU ( the yellow umbrella) !

This speciall is adoarable, sweet, funny informative and most deffenetly entertaining. combining some of my favorite tropes.

The yellow umbrella, a previos user name of mine and my all time favorite inanimate object has a great role in this drama, so for all you TYU.lover out there this is a must watch!

At times this speicell feels like an advertisment for staying in school and the importance of studying, since it may actually save your life if you find yourself in the jeoson era, having knowlade in math and history may just be the difference between survivin and beeing banished or killed.

The special also makes great use of the crossdressing trope, no she is not the least bit convincing as a guy, but she does motevate all of her desissions and even thogh this is a very heteronormative show it does not use the steps in between in a way that I perseved as homofobic or disrespectfull ,

The actors did an amazing jobb Kim Seul Gi is just brilliant and every word is provided seems to come out naturally, bit the one liners as well as the very obvious prodoct placement, that just kept me lauging.

The scenery here is so pretty with a lot of beutifull sunset shots by the sea,

All in all I wish this has more episodes, but seeing how short this is I really can not fin a reason for anyone not to give it a try.

This was a nice little break from the thrillers I've been used to recently. It was refreshing. It wasn't anything too special, but it was definitely great. The chemistry between the leads was undeniable. The story was mediocre and the ending was predictable, but I was still satisfied because the execution was spot on. I definitely recommend watching this show. The romance was very present and it wasn't all about math like the scenario might have you believe lol. Watch it! You won't regret it <3

I have never been interested in this drama although I always see people recommending it. The reason for the sudden peak of interest is Yoon Doo Joon. I'm currently watching radio romance, which is another drama that he is in, and I was so intrigued by his character. He plays an actor there and he plays a historical drama. When I looked him up, I saw the poster for Splash Splash Love and then it all clicked.

I didn't have high expectations for this drama since it's only two episodes. I mean in my mind I was like, you can't inflict a lot of pain in a span of two episodes. And I was proven wrong by this series. It has managed to make me cry, swoon and I was actually sentimental about the characters. This is the drama that I really need since it filled a void in me that was left by Scarlet Heart and Love In the Moonlight. The plot was really amazing and I finally found the closure that I'm looking for in Scarlet Heart. The acting was spectacular. They have the certain chemistry and it's all cute and soft and my heart. I really want to see them more in other dramas.

This is definitely a drama that you should watch

This series is a 2-hour-worth-watching mini episodes that will make you laugh and cry at the same time. Although, honestly i wasn't a fan of time-slip story but I did try to watch this since it garners good review and I'm grateful that it never did disappoint me. As for both the main lead, they did an excellent job in portraying the character who brings life to the story.

I'm glad I discovered this well into my k-drama watching experience, so that I had enough knowledge in Korean history to not spend the vast majority of the drama going 'uh. Am I supposed to know him?' This was a sweet little story, though the web drama nature of it limits the development of the characters. I love Kim Seul-Gi in every role I've ever seen her play and this one is no exception. She plays a high school senior who is overwhelmed by her upcoming CSATs and yearns to escape. Yoon Doo-Joon plays the king of Joseon and is adorable. This is a time travel drama, where a modern girl is transported back to Joseon and high jinks ensue. The web drama, as mentioned, limits character development because episodes average about 15 minutes a pop. That said, the short episodes make this an easy to consume, pop-corn-esque drama. It was rewarding and I'd recommend it especially if you're looking for something quick.

I like to think of Splash Splash LOVE as a story of a girl who learns to appreciate math. I couldn’t stop smiling after finishing it, and it legitimately made me laugh. It sucked me in with its lovable characters despite an absurd premise. This show feels like a little dream, which is fitting for a tiny two episoder. It doesn’t totally make sense, and I doubt I understood all the jokes, but it’s charismatic throughout.

I’ve seen some reviews of this show that say they want more, but I was perfectly fine with the two episodes we got. Actually I think I’d have gotten frustrated if it was any longer. The characters were all caricatures and we’ve seen them all before, from the bumbling heroine to the strong silent second lead. Splash Splash LOVE is sweet and to the point, and that’s what keeps these elements from being overbearing. Though I guess I could watch 10 episodes worth of Kim Seul-gi and Yoon doo-joon being cute together.

This was a lovely drama special.

THE DRAMA
After days of long and intense dramas that have heart wrenching scenes that do not seem to end, watching something short, sweet and fluffy is exactly what I needed. I came upon this accidentally and I must say, this was the happiest accident I have ever been through.

There were a lot of smiles, laughs and almost-tears. Even though it is only a special, I was still hooked by the solid writing and the good casting and even better acting.

THE ACTORS
I am currently rewatching a Jin Ki-joo drama and when I saw her in this, I almost did not recognize her. However, her staple dimples and captivating gaze finally gave her away. It was fun watching Kim Seul-gi, Ahn Hyo-seop and Jin Ki-joo all in one drama (they are some of my favourite actors). This is the earliest works I have seen for all of them and I must say, they have either improved and/or continue to capture my attention with their skills.

Yoon Doo Joon was a nice surprise. [I think I am in love ( ♡•♡ ) ] Every time he coughed/cleared his throat, he reminded me of Kim Nam-gil as Heo Im in Live Up To Your Name (⌒▽⌒) [Another one of my favourites]. I will definitely be watching more of his previous works as I (im)patiently wait for his new dramas/movies to come.

FINAL NOTES
Everybody gave their all in this and the result is a heartwarming 2 hour 20 minute success of a story.

A mini series with a good story and an interesting theme. Back when the k drama land wasn't filled so fully with the go back to the joseon dynasty theme, this drama had kind of an interesting and original story. And they did make it work, using lots of humour and a nice romantic story. The chemistry between the two main actors was nice and helped a lot with the love story, though it was odd to begin with. The plot had a good pace as well and managed to complete the story officiently enough in just about two hours. So, 6 out of 10.

For this only to be two episodes, it should've been just a movie! I enjoyed it this short drama. I have seen this before but a long time ago. I'm glad it refreshed my mind. Yoon Doo Joon is adorable! He was 25 when this drama was aired and Kim Seul Gi was 23... I'm sorry but KSG looks so young, I mean very young! What is in the water in South Korea, I want some! lol Yoon Doon Joon, the costume he was wearing made him look like he could be KSG's daddy. But in the end he looked his age. This was such a cute story. I like time travel. and WOW 20 kids! smh! I hope everyone will enjoy this short 2 episode drama as I did. Thanks to all the cast and the team of Splash Splash!

Kim Seulgi is always amazing, I absolutely love her.

But even if you're not a fan of her as I am, this drama is such a great mini-drama. I loved it because it was sweet and plain fun to watch. The humor was subtle, chemistry abound between the leads, lovely romance and good pace. It was a simple storyline, but it was brought to life by the actors in a way not every actor could manage. I'm almost sad it only had 2 episodes, but it felt right.

{SPOILER}
A bit of an icky ending though, because the reincarnation thing never really makes me happy. It feels like a cheap cop-out somehow. But it doesn't take away from a lovely drama!
