This is the shortest drama I have ever seen, so I was curious to see how much they could pack into 2 episodes. The answer is a lot, and the results are pretty impressive. Based on the cheesy title (even cheesier than normal for a rom com), my expectations were pretty low. In my opinion the title doesn't do the show justice, but that's my biggest complaint, which is a huge compliment.

The story is kinda like a study guide in the style of "The Wizard of Oz". When testing pressures are too much for Dan Bi, she tries to run from them, and finds herself making a detour into the Joseon era. Her travel method is very cool, and immediately sets up the style of the show. From there the drama becomes an abbreviated sageuk, about a girl from the future and a royal from the past. This story has been done many times before, so It's up to the cast to make this version measure up, and the cast does a great job of that.

Kim Seul Gi has a spunky energy (similar to her role in "Oh my Ghostess"), which I love. I was impressed by her range of emotions, and I look forward to seeing more of her in the future. I'm not really familiar with Doo Joon (fangirls please don't kill me), but he was great too. Even in a drama this brief, they managed to deliver the chemistry romance fans love. Things may have seemed slightly rushed, but never too rushed to buy into it. I totally did.

I admit that much of the historical context went over my head. I was still able to still catch on to much of it, and it peaked my interest in learning the real history. I'll also admit to thinking that the historical versions of the characters were better looking than the modern ones.

Splash Splash LOVE is extremely cute, perhaps a little corny, and certainly predictable, but definitely entertaining.

Overall this drama seemed a little like and elaborate and well-devised plan to inspire young people to study. It is certainly aimed at a much younger audience, but I still enjoyed it. The writers were able to squeeze a great story into 2 episodes, so if you are looking for a drama to watch, but don't have the hours to commit (especially if that's because you know you should be studying), this is perfect.

Light quick, interesting and cute

8/10 is my rating. 2015 South Korean television drama. This drama spans two, 60 minute, episodes. Jang Dan-bi (Kim Seul-gi) struggles with the complex math she needs to pass the college test. Feeling immense pressure she is able to escape through a time portal to the Joseon era. She finds some clothing and is ultimately mistaken as an Eunuch. Having modern skills and knowledge, abilities that were passing in the modern area make her a top scholastic mind in the Josean area and she is soon teaching and advising the king, Yoon Doo-joon (Jang Yeong-sil). Through the course of their interaction they fall in love. Danbi becomes homesick and decides to return to her own time. The king vows to find her again through time. Back in the modern era time passes and Danbi's feels the loss of a great love. She reads about things the King did as a result of their time together. Feeling wistful she drops something on the street in the rain only to look up and see a very familiar face holding an umbrella over her.

Spoiler ? I really liked this one and there were many funny moments. It is a good, quick, light hearted drama to watch in between dramas with heavier topics. For me she decided to return to her time abruptly or at least it felt like that. it was really good just lacked a few elements for me that would have set it apart and made it great.

This bite sized drama should definitely be on your watch list! It is short and sweet though the story does not feel rushed at all. It could have been a movie in my opinion but it doesn't matter that much. The romance was very cute and sweet but my favourite moments were definitely the comedy scenes! xD I was laughing or at least chuckling at many of them – my most favourite one would definitely be the one with riding a horse to the tune of Gangnam Style. :D The ending was bittersweet but it suited the drama very well. More people should definitely know about this little drama. :3

This is the only drama I ever rated as 10 stars. I'm particularly bias on this drama due to the fact that I'd laugh out so loud and nearly died from it, I cried multiple times, giggled like a fool, helplessly fall in love on both characters whimsical tragic love story (it's not that tragic but sort of inevitable ending), and lastly I fervently hope for the fate to be gentle on them. This story made me a maniac in just 2 hours of runtime!!! So you see, I'm bias and insane as well so don't believe me if I said try this and be a maniac like me especially when the last scenes are rolling because you'll be crying at the same time smiling. I'm warning you.

All You Want From a Full-Length Drama in Two Episodes!

A high school girl ends up running off as it rains to skip her SATS and vanishes into a puddle only to be transported into the Joseon past! Dan Bi, your average high schooler with doubts and dreams of the future, finds herself in the Joseon dynasty and having to use her modern-day wits and knowledge of math and science from high school to keep herself useful to the king. This story is sweet and manages to fulfill all the wants you tend to have from a drama, all packed into two episodes! There's adventure, romance, and even two assassination attempts! It's a great romp from start to finish, and it has a happily ever after, too! Couldn't have asked for more! Am delighted I managed to randomly see this!

A real gem

A period piece with just two episodes - a gem of a drama to watch in between longer dramas; fluffy and fun. It would have made an excellent series as there was a lot of material available such as exploring the development of all the main characters, deepening the relationship between the M/F leads but what was created in the two episodes was excellently portrayed and I loved the ending.. thank goodness! Shame it was over all too soon though.

Definitely put this on your to watch list - you won't regret it.

Please watch this show guys !!! I am so glad that I watched this one few days back. Who knew that a two episode series can be this convincing and this good ! The plot about a young girl going back in past is not new. Many shows have used this plot but many have failed to execute it well. This two episode show has set a fitting example of how to deal with such genre. The story was well thought off with a commited script and great direction. The actors acted well and the lead had good chemistry. I don’t want to get too technical and find flaws in it. The feel good factor of this one is really so I do not wish to spoil that. This little gem is definitely not to be missed.

A story you will never forget for the rest of your life

Practically a movie, 2 hours and 20 minutes running time. I would say that by approaching this from an episodic method, they were able to tell the story in a simple and yet very touching way. If they turned this into a movie, it wouldn't have the same impact as the expectations and requirements for one is far different.

This proves that great stories does not have to be long, it is the execution and delivery that matters. I also love how they embedded the importance of studying mathematics and science--something that students need to understand--by throwing a modern student into the past where their survival lies on it, just as how important these are today.

I can't believe I only discovered this today. I will never forget this story for the rest of my life.

I clicked at the top shows here in mydramalist and was a bit surprised to see this show on the top 30. I am not saying that the show doesn't deserve it. I am amazed by how people receive a mini drama like this.

The Story
I always love things with something supernatural about it. And a trip to the past )or future) always makes me excited and worried on how our writers will manage to make the main couple together. The story is straightforward as described in the synpsis.

The Cast
I don't usually watch mini dramas but I can't miss a Kim Seul-gi show. I've watched her since Flower Boys Next Door and truly knows how hilarious she can be so I am definitely following her. It is kind of challenging to think that she is THE main lead for this drama since she is just a supporting character in her previous dramas (though she is a lead in Oh My Ghostess, she didn't actually get the guy). I keep on picturing all her funny antics but really, she just acts amazingly. She can be very funny and sympathetic in her characters. I don't know much about Yoon Doo-joon but he has great chemistry with Kim Seul-gi (reunion, please!)

The Music
Not really a critic of music (I don't even understand the Korean songs) but I appreciate that I didn't feel bored while watching this.

Rewatch Value
It won't hurt much to rewatch a 2-episode drama, right?

Story
The story is quite simple. A girl ends up in the past and is stuck there until the next rain comes. This doesn't come without a few issues here and there, of course. The plot doesn't entail much more but considering the drama is only a little over 2 hours, it is just perfect. It's a story where you don't have to expect a lot of twists and turns and drama in order to enjoy the ride.

Romance and comedy were the main focus, next to the historical part and I think the drama did well on balancing it out. The only bit of supernatural that occurs is the time travel though.

The story allowed for a few good laughs and the romance had a nice pace in build-up throughout the two hours. It was touching and cute, allowing for a few tears along the second half of the story because I had gotten so wrapped up in it.

And I like the moral/lesson that's hidden inside it. That you can do far more when you really put your mind into it. It definitely gives a bit of a boost there.

Acting/Cast
They delivered a great job for sure! I think the plot/jokes wouldn't have been half as amusing had it not been for the actors. Thumbs up, because I don't often find myself laughing so hard about comedy. So for me, that is always a tell-tale sign.

The only issues I had with the acting was the female lead. Sometimes she annoyed me, but compared to some other drama's I've seen.. I guess she wasn't half as bad. The actress did well on delivering her role regardless. It were only a handful of scenes I didn't enjoy the character she played.

Music
This was actually the part where I feel most critical. The instrumental OST I enjoyed well along with the scenes, but half of the songs that had vocal weren't quite to my taste. I can understand why they were chosen, but it just didn't help me get a feel. But considering this drama is so short, I couldn't really feel upset about it. I did really love one of the final songs, sung by Ahn Hyo Seop.

Rewatch value
Absolutely! It's a simple drama without too many surprises and once you've seen it, you've seen it. But would I enjoy it again? Yes, I definitely would! No doubt it would make me laugh and smile again when I do. But it would not have anything new to offer a second round.

Overall, I'm very happy to have seen this drama. It was short and perfect to fill my need for Romance! It was everything I expected of it. Better even - because it proved to be far more amusing than I had thought. (I really don't often laugh out loud when it comes to comedy.)

The perfect distraction

For sheer escapism, laughter and a few tears, this short 2-episode drama is perfect.
A lovely cast that didn't ham it up, but acted well, even though it was a light hearted comedy.
Well written and a lot of story, very neatly packaged.
Nothing here to upset anyone about how a real Joseon King was portrayed either! ?
I loved the bloopers at the end too, which suggested the cast enjoyed making this and it showed.
Added to my very short list of uplifting, feel good dramas to watch again, when I am ever in need of a pick-me-up.

A total trip!!! I had seen the poster for this drama and skipped by it, but I looked at it again a couple of hours ago and thought why not it has only two episodes. To my surprise it was a whole lot like Love in The Moonlight but surprisingly better in a way because it was shorter and funnier.

It had many similarities to Love in The Moonlight I loved every minute of it!! I will rewatch this again and again!!!
