High school student Ayumi kills herself and leaves behind a cryptic message that says "will be killed by boyfriend." Ayumi's classmates Satomi and Yuka investigates her suicide and quickly links her death to a cellphone dating simulation game called "Keitai Kareshi." The game distributed by popular mobile gaming site "I-Scream" allows players to pick avatars and exchange messages with a virtual boyfriend. A love gauge determines how well the player is going. Satomi then downloads Ayumi's cellphone boyfriend Riku, which her co-worker Eri also downloads onto her cellphone. Soon after, Eri dies from electrocution - not long after the love gauge on her cellphone hit zero. Yuka also downloaded cellphone boyfriend Masaya, which Satomi sends to her manager Ishikawa in an attempt to save her. The next day, Ishikawa dies from a mysterious accident. The mystery deepens as Satomi discovers the image of Naoto, a senior student whom Satomi secretly admired, on her friend Hisami's cellphone. Edit Translation

Let's put it like that: when the movie started out I would have given it 8 points, towards the end it went down to 6, so well, how about a score of 7 overall?
It's not a bad movie at all, just what went wrong is that, although the story itself has the potential to be interesting (and it really is in the beginning, unless well.. you don't like creepy mobile boyfriends I suppose), it's kind of poorly told. Especially towards the middle the movie completely loses the creepy atmosphere it started out with, and the last 15 minutes are just so blah, draggy and kind of ridiculous even.

During the first third of the movie I was really creeped out by the mobile boyfriends and because of how the story progresses. But after that the only creepy thing about the movie was the fact that the main girl had the face of a 12 year old, but was often dressed fairly.. risky (it was just kind of weird, eh). The plot became increasingly predictable - to me "Keitai Kareshi" became one of those movies where I got a bit frustrated because I figured everything out long before the characters did. Unfortunately the backstory for the mobile boyfriends is barely touched, I would have liked it if they showed more of that / explained it better because it would have given the movie a lot more depth!

The acting, well eeeesh, it wasn't the worst I've ever seen, but it could have been better, I wasn't really put off by it though. The music I don't even remember to be honest, heh.

Surprisingly enough I would watch it again though because I liked the general plot idea (I'd like a Riku for my phone too please~) (without the intentions to kill though) and well it's a neat watch if you look for something mildly creepy, but not very thought-provoking.

This is my first review of any kind :)

So what did Marlee87 think of this movie?
I really liked it, was roaming around searching for dramas with Kawashima Umika and stumbled over this movie. And I liked it from the beginning.

How was the story then Marlee87? Tell us.
Well, at some points the scary parts wasn't scary at all, but that must be because I've seen to many horror movies in the past but I found the story good, and it got along well :)

How was the actors performances?
Well I mainly watched it because of Kawashima Umika (Falcon's littlesister all grown-up now) and she did well, cute and talented indeed. And Ishiguro Hideo was hot and performed well. The other cast did well, and especially Uehara Takuya as Riku was good (and he looks just like Akanishi Jin).

Do you remember the music, how was that?
Fankly no I don't remember, but it did keep the suspense to the movie.

Will you watch this again Marlee87?
Well DUH I've already watched it five or six times :P So the re-watch value to me is high :)

Overall, what was your opinion?
It was a nice movie, I really liked it. :) So I can highly recommend it :)

(Made some editing, overall grade is 10, it is after all my ichiban Jmovie, and the rewatch value to 9, I've rewatched it more times that I care to admitt ^^)
