What can I say..... high and low part 2 carried on its legacy....!!! excellent fight scenes, nice action and lets not forget, eye candies..... good looking, silent, dangerous type guys who all fight well.... the story is well defined.... just because its about gangs and delinquents, you wont see any kind of random fighting ( you know like some dramas and movies, people start fighting because someone banged into them)... The gangs have its own policy that brings the members closer...

S - protects ... a home to come back to
W - protects women
O - well, its a high school... kids fight for no reason... but still you wont see them fighting outside aimlessly.
R - protects family
D - crazy people... but still has an aim... and i like the lead...

for anyone who wants to see some nice fighting, welcome to the world of high and low.... (watch season 1 before you start season 2)..

waiting for the movie to get subbed.... fighting :D :D :D

I got wrong prediction in this season. I thought it will be more action scenes after the first season that really firing me up like an appetizer before the main story. Season 2 is just like another appetizer, the action scenes only around 20% from the entire episodes. But don't get me wrong, it's still a pleasant one to watch but I didn't get that much hype with all those bunch of flashback and sentimental moments.

Like what I said, mostly are flashback stories of Mugen's main member and other histories of each gang. The more their stories revealed, the more new faces appeared too. There are more familiar actors that also featured in this season. Beside that, there is more additional gang that never be mentioned before in the first season. Season 2 is just like another season 1 but with more detail about identity of each main member of each gang. There is repetition scenes here about childhood of Mugen's main member, it's okay but if considering the duration only around 20 mins, it's a waste. I believe it can be filled with another story. So it feels a bit slow at the some beginning of episodes, but thanks for the good looking casts and the editing (also the music) I can patiently and excitedly follow their stories.

Since all the gangs already revealed (I hope all gang names already mentioned in this season, including Mighty Warrior & Doubt, maybe Later a group from Lee/Seungri), now everything must be piled up together in one line. But It's kinda look choppy, they keep back and forth from one gang to another just to tell a small amount of story. It would be nice if they tell an exact story from a certain gang in a decent length duration. Let's say in 20 minutes only about 2 gangs with 1 main story, just like they did in the first season. It's not happen a lot only in the some of beginning of episodes. Too many LDH actors that need to be appeared in the drama huh?

All the gang leaders's past stories are reviewed again except Daruma Ikkka and Rude Boys. Why? yes, why?? I yelled in dissapointment after I finished watch this drama. Season 2 didn't tell more detail
about Hayashi Kento (as Hyuga, leader of Daruma Ikka) and Kubota Masataka (as Smoky, leader of Rude Boys). It's not only that, even both of them didn't appear in this season, they didn't has any line.
They only appear in 1 or 2 seconds from the past scenes. Really too bad, they're are one of the reason why I like this series. Well, I guess it's their intention tho, they want to emphasize their own actors (LDH actors) rather than the real actors. If so, then how about Yamada Yuki? He's not LDH actor but he got decent amount of screen time.

If we talk about visual, sure H&L is still one of the best, they got nice looking actors, cool properties, detailed settings and good POV. So that's why it's a waste that they decrease the amount of fighting
scenes. Well, seems like this season still wants to tell more about friendship and family thing between them. Season 2 still using the same music from the previous season. They added 2 or 3 new songs tho, if my ears not wrong. But the intensity of the music is not as much as the first season. "Maria" and "Forever Young At Heart" were played a lot, because there are a lot of sentimental moments in the beginning of episodes.

Overall was fine with new faces and new stories. It also hints another new face for the next HiGH&LOW: The Red Rain. Also a glimpse of what will happen in the HiGH&LOW: The Movie.

Personal corner:
Can I talk a bit about how perfect Yamada Yuki here? Yes, I can say that he is the best actor here. Even thought he didn't appeared that much, I can tell his presence is really strong. The way he delivered his line along with his expression, it's just - - - wow! yeah! :D

welp there goes me being extremely attached to every character

Dude I'm so happy that I got into this franchise ?Personally as someone who went a little out of order watching the entire series (the seasons + the movies), season 2 filled in a lot of plot and character details that add so much to the entire story, which I already loved and became obsessed with. But regarding season two itself, I find it so easy to get attached to the cast of characters we are introduced to and seeing all the great friendships blossom & become something so much bigger. A series like this always keeps you on your toes and is already introducing the next complex character, tense situation, or badass scene.

This season is really essential to the whole overriding theme of friendship/loyalty and the whole "we're stronger together" message. A franchise like this easily sells this basic theme too considering how simple yet done to justice every character and their arcs are done. My favorite characters, Murayama and Todoroki, get their backstories in this season, and they are THE essential characters of the series, the two characters that really bridge the original cast to the new generation in The Worst movies. Murayama is the star of the franchise, pretty much the epitome of what the series is trying to show, and he SHINES in this season. He's such a well-written character and so rounded. I would go on about him but I don't want to turn this review into an essay, so I digress. Murayama has the fullest development of any character, and by contrast, Todoroki at this point is still the antithesis to everything Murayama/the series represents. Todoroki is such a cool character and my personal enjoyment comes from both a place of relating to him but also simply enjoying his snarky, ambitious attitude. Other than that, I just love that Todoroki is a character who originally fought to defend himself, and then started giving 0 fucks and simply thought fighting was fun. I love that. Seeing the dynamic & rivalry of these 2 is highly rewarding.

My only critiques of this season is that some of the backstory scenes, especially that of Kohaku's storyline get a little dragged out (I had the same issue with the movie(s) that explored his character in depth) so the pacing gets a little slow in at least one episode, but considering the entire show does drag things out a little from time to time I'm used to it by now and it's not really that bad. I will also say that because of certain flashbacks I got a little confused on chronological order of some things but that goes back to the watch order thing mostly.

Join the fun and watch HiGH&Low. This is only one of two shows I've seen that has made me genuinely fixated on the fandom aspect.

Not as good as the first season, but still enjoyable. The same characters return, with more background on the original story to provide the foundation for the story in the next movie. Really, this one felt more like a bridge between the first season and the movie. But, still, it was interesting. The action scenes were fewer and the first episodes were occupied by the story of the begining with the old characters and their adventures, which was kind of boring after the third flash back. The performances, moreover, were good and the movie exceptionally made.

First, I have to admit that I did skip some of the Mighty Warriors bits because I'm not as interested in them as I am in S.W.O.R.D. What can I say *shrugs*

But now to the good things. S2 was such a fantastic set-up for the following movie, it went so deep on all fronts, telling us more about Mugen, about the characters' background, about the hows & whys. And it showed us so much character development, Murayama and Hyuga and even Cobra himself.

Speaking of Cobra, his journey fascinated me because we get to see him as a kid, then as an eager puppy in Mugen, all smiles and energy - and then the way he became, closed off, standing apart, always on the outside looking in, carrying the responsibility for Sannoh, and his desire for it all to be finally over, for the fighting and hurting to stop - and then, in the end, his realization that the only way to achieve that is to fight back, his renewed determination. What a journey within only 10 episodes!

I loved it. Somehow, in some way, they managed to make this drama so rich and deep, with characters coming and going, with the big bad looming and S.W.O.R.D. a world of its own within that universe...

Can't wait to see the movie now!

S2 did not disappoint!

Usually season 1 of shows tend to be superior to season 2, but with HIGH & LOW both seasons were fire!!

I binged season 2 in a single day, which is very rare for me considering I took 3 days to finish season 1 of this same show (which had same episode count and length).

The music for each faction were fantastic (Wu Tang Clan mention really surprised me!), the acting was beautiful, the actors were a blessing upon my eyes (soon your eyes too), and the action scenes were so attention-grabbing (granted season 1 fight scenes were better). Only minor annoyance in this show for a new viewer would be the amount of recaps and flashbacks in this season.

Overall, loved this show and planning to watch the movie next. I Definitely recommend this show for action lovers and morally-gray characters enjoyers!
