Was Exo's Suho always this handsome?

This is a review of Star of the Universe Part 1 with Suho and Ji Woo.

The story is pretty good when you ignore that the Sasaeng fan feels the heroine exudes. She genuinely loves him and he comes to love her as well. I would have loved for this to be a full length series but with idols in the lead, that rarely happens.

At first, I did not like the story as it felt like the typical idol web drama where the girl meets and falls in love with an idol but this story is different. By the end of the drama, I was screaming for more. Ji Woo who plays the ghost did not annoy me and Suho managed to pull off the acting perfectly. I also love the fact that there was more to their relationship than you would think.

The supporting characters are also amazing. For such a short drama, I was surprised they were even included but they were the also perfect. Both the doctor and the EMT had their own story and I loved how it connected back to the main character played by Ji Woo.

All in all, a solid web series, and I would totally recommend it.

Aww man....just finnished this drama. Someone call the doctor, i think i *OVERDOSE*
First let me start with the story - as a girl,i was jumping in my seat the entire time =). The story has perfect timing and its not too slow or too fast. This drama for 3 episodes(thats how i watched it) can be considered a masterpiece and i loved every minute of it. The story. the cast and THE *PLOTTWIST*!

Acting/Cast - First let me start with the star of this drama Ji Woo(Byul) she did so well in this drama * claps* considering she is playing a main lead for the first time she did 6/6 and i didnt hate her character. I have seen her only in the movie Cart and the drama You're All Surrounded so i know she has big potential! I cant wait to see her in another drama as a main lead because she was the main main here for me! (Cant believe she is only 1 year older than me 0_0)....
Next: Kim Jun Myeon(Suho) did really well and the character he played is.... i wish i could find myself a man like him *sobs*. His acting was good and i hope he does just as good in his next upcoming drama I eat bread.
Next: Shin Hyun Soo was a full of suprises in this drama and the twist damm... I have seen him in Remember - War of the son and i hope that he gets the main role one day, now that he has 2 dramas that did well! Lets cheer him on!
Lets include Na Hae Ryung she did really well as well. All off the cast can be described as full of potential and i hope they do well in the future because they did 1000/1000 in this drama!

Music - *cries* Really good now because of this drama, i will cry everytime i hear Suho....i mean Kim Jun Myeon sining. So good 10/10. All the leads are so talented!!!

Rewatch value - YES! I will watch it again, once my chest pain is gone, i will watch it all the way to episode 2 (you know...) Watch it if you havent already!

Overall- This drama touched my soul, my heart, my ears,my brain even my appendix! Because they all have feelings now 0_0 !!! Some people have watched this like a 10 minute episode drama with 21 episodes but i waited for all of them to be out like a 3 episode drama and i recommend you watch it like that. You will not regret it, i don't... maan i hope i find myself a man so cute as Woo Joo...

This was an amazing drama especially if you're an Exo-L or even if you're not you will become one after watching this. this prove that love can win everything despite who you are . It shows how hard the famous singer life is and teach us how meaning full he life is and the end is not really the end. Of course the ost is perfect their chemistry is not perfect but it's quite well , as expected I cried my eye out as well. I hope it has a lot of eps but it's only 6 . too bad to handle. #sobing

A mini drama part of a bigger project, that started really strong, but failed to give a satisfying ending. The concept of this drama is very clever and original: a girl grim reaper, who used to be a fan-girl for a famous singer, is trying to keep her idol alive. So, the first episodes were really good. They were funny and cute and the romance was exiting. Towards the middle, the romance started to develop, and it was a nice romantic story, but the ending was really confusing, at least for me, and felt like they were wrapping things up for the next story. I wish they had explained what happened more. Also, the jump forward seven years later didn't felt like it, and, honestly, it was like some of the chemistry between the couple vanished. So, 5 out of 10 for Universe's star.

OMG I am typing with a blurry vision because I am crying, i don't have the words now to describe how this was so gooood and how it touched nd made me cry. This was so beautiful, bittersweet nd lovely. This was the saddest yet most beautiful drama I've watched. I didn't expect for a second that Star of the Universe would make me cry . IT WAS SO HEARTBREAKING BUT HEARTWARMING AT THE SAME TIME. Even if i think it was unfair to them, i know it was meant to be, nd they were happy till the end, I‘m glad that he atleast knew why she had to die, they didn't had any regrets nd they lived their lives to the fullest. That's what life is, no matter how much money you make, or how much power you have, if dont live your life and love the ones you love properly, then your life its a waste. This drama simply makes us believe that death is not the end, nd that there is a thin line between life and death. Death should not be something that will make us stop living our lives, it is something that should remind us how short life is and how we should spend it wisely with all our loved ones...The acting was a master peice. I m impressed how Suho did so well in this drama. The story itself is beautiful, but I was more amazed on how good Suho looked on every angle, lol, I guess I'm turning into an EXO. Also Jiwoo has such a lovely and cute face, i love her smile, and she really acted the sad parts so well, whenever she cried i cried with her. This was perfect! i wish this drama could turn 20 episodes drama with happy ending . The ost is very soothing nd so much in sync with the story.Looooove this drama so much, you should go nd watch it now. I'M TELLING YOU IT'S WORTH IT.

A Meaningful Romance Without the Nonsense

This series is all I ever wanted from Kdrama. A romance without excessive fluff or cliché that can still tell a heartfelt and emotionally resonant story. The series is short, but I think that may be for the better. Excellent writing and acting ensures we get to know the main characters enough to care about them, and manages to maintain a pacing that is not rushed and not dragged out.

This is a romance at its purest. Stripped of love triangles and ex-girlfriends and endless frustrating setbacks. And, while it isn't entirely exempt from the occasional misunderstanding, you can rest assured that a drama with six 30 minute episodes isn't going to waste any time.

Many dramas involving life and death or characters who have lived longer than they should seem to freeze their character's mental development at the time they died, but the female lead here does seem to have learned from death. She frequently offers insights in the form of beautiful metaphor, which is just one of the many unique dimensions to her character. The other characters, while receiving significantly less screen time than a typical show's, are still fleshed out to the same level and provide a well thought out background for a captivating main story.

I highly recommend this series, especially to those who want a break from the tropes in pursuit of a more true and simple love story which conveys with nuance and poetry the magic of a first love.

Surprisingly good.

I really enjoyed this web drama. Typically web dramas do not have this much character to them and one can easily figure out the plot withing the 1st episode, this one keep my interest peaked. The ending was beautiful as well. The characters played well against each other and complimented the plot well. I have no issues with this except the fact that I wished it were longer. Suho's performance was superb , any EXO fan would be proud of our Leader as he showed versatility in his ability to convey what was needed to be make this web drama a success. I would encourage anyone who loves EXO to watch this and add it to their favorites list.

I’m actually mind blown by how good and amazing this short drama was. It was peaceful but heart wrenching all in one setting and I don’t think I will ever forget that; all in all a hidden gem.

It’s funny because I think I’m starting to get more into the idea of fantasy and this was just a unique story; the grim reaper tries to save someone’s life is basically what it is. They fall in love but you can’t change the outcome of how fate is supposed to play, it’s an eye for an eye.

The chemistry was great! Suho did amazing with his emotions and I loved the acting from everyone.

The music was easy and sweet.

All in all, I could not help but cry at how wonderful and pieced together this show was. It was quick, easy and painful all in one. They did such an amazing job with a unique story and I give this all the kudos in the world.

I was looking forward this drama in the beginning because of Splash Splash love's writer. Splash Splash love is nearly perfect with its story, acting, music. But star of the universe is otherwise. It copied many scenes from Splash Splash love. The writer is not creative. Maybe after her success of SSL, she thought it would be safe if she brought things from SSL to Star of the universe. I felt disappointed with almost story. But some parts are good such as dating scenes.

The acting is most thing deserved to be complained. I think that idols can have a chance to act because some of them have talents in acting but they should be a supporting roles until they have enough ability to be cast as a lead. I do not care they are actors or idols or models if they can perform the role well. Suho is very stifff actor and it is safe to say he has no talents in acting. This is not his first role. He should not be cast in the film anymore or he may get many anti-fans instead of getting new fans. He shows no emotion of the singer who is lonely, no emotion of the man who is in love. And he has no chemistry with the main girl.

The only thing I noticed in this drama is the second couple. The second girl is actually more outstanding than the main girl.

Finally, Suho's handsome is not enough to make me want to see him again in the drama. There are many handsome actors with good acting out there. I think he should focus on his singing instead of acting again,. Terrible acting!

I've pretty much been crying since the first episode but the last two episodes god! Even the loving moments got me emotional. This is the kind of drama that really gets to you. Acting is so good throughout, I'm not going to even start talking about just how beautiful Kim Junmyeon is because trust me that's not the only thing good about this show. This is like Strong Woman Do Bong Soon, had the same kind of amazing acting, plot, direction, angst. It's dark but not too dark, it's romantic but not too cheesy, it's just the right amount of guilty pleasure, and wish fullfilment coupled with a fantastic script. It's deep, meaningful, poetic. No annoying females, and the love was FELT not just a bunch of confession scenes, and the brilliance of the lead actors made it not only a pleasure for the eyes but also for the heart. He's not just some hot, loaded caricature of a chaebol and she's not in love with him because he acts like a jerk to her. The way they talked about the nature of any idol and fan relationship, they don't dismiss it because not every fan is a sesaeng and not every idol is a pretentious overbearing asshole. They talked about issues like stalking, and for once it wasn't encouraged or justified. The way 'fans' react if god forbid their bias starts going out with someone or falls in love. The truth is if you can't be supportive of their happiness you should definitely stop calling yourself a 'fan.' Anyway, all I want to say is if you love kpop, kdrama, if you love an idol and want Suho to melt you with his gaze and serenade you with his beautiful voice WATCH THIS DRAMA. The best part is it will take you a full 3 hrs but at the same time, like many other short drama where you feel like it was disjointed or disappointing because there isn't enough time to even enjoy the couples time together, this one will leave you completely satisfied.

Pretty Nice.

I like the story, I like the plot. I also like the concept.

This a good web drama. Not much more to say because I did enjoy it.

The thing I just don't like about this one is the twist on the ending and for this giving me false hopes that it was all okay. That she will be staying at his side forever. It's kind of disappointing to me. And also, it's a bit short.

For me also, the guy and the girl I didn't find them likable as a couple. It was bearable though.
