Suspicious Partner

수상한 파트너 ‧ Drama ‧ 2017
Both are about uncovering a murder where the main female lead is involved as a suspect, also both are complicated romances because of family members involved.

The first episode of Link: Eat, Love, Kill gave me Suspicious Partner vibes, in the drama's tone and style as it shifts between thriller, comedy and romance. Sure enough the writer and director are the same, so we could probably expect a similar style. For now, if you're looking for something to binge while waiting for LELK episodes, you can check out SP.

Will update this once it completes airing.

Created by the same people. They have the same kind of comedy with both couples working together. Different genres but the same kind of sunshine heroine vs grumpy hero in terms of the romance. There’s a hilarious older man character in both dramas too.

- Fierce first contact between FL and ML
- FL dislikes ML
- Down on her luck female lead
- Cohabitation
- Incidentally forced entanglement
- Gets attached to male lead
- Female lead a strange heroine
- Male lead with a shrouded past
- But difference is idol drama vs lawyer drama, not similar genres, but similar vibe

The female lead is accused of being murderer's daughter. She wants to work in police forces / court in order to set her father free and clear the family's name. The romance is threatened with the past memories of the accident - in which both families had taken part.

1. Lawyer male lead (hereinafter referred to as ML for the sake of brevity)
2. Jealous ML
3. RomCom with thriller stuffed into it...in Suspicious Partner it makes some sense tho. While in Destined with You it clearly seems forced.
4. Cute af couple
5. Colourful secondary characters
6. No chance for second lead syndrome
7. FL stands at the fringe of society but gradually finds her people

We are talking about an og drama here so this will be short and sweet.
Similarities
Sp has also a murderer in the plot.
Ml is cold
Ml is also a prosecutor
Fl works under the ml
Families are both kinda messed up
_______________________________
Sp is has some comedy elements but it is more serious.

Both of these dramas revolve around the characters solving a murder case. In abyss the main characters are reborn with a new appearance to their original bodies. The ML aims to clear his name as the murder suspect of his friend the FL with her help after being a witness at the time of the crime. Similarly, the FL of Suspicious Partner also witnesses a murder which she aims to solve with the help of the ML.

Both dramas try to balance suspense and romance. "You're My Spring" has more focus on romance than suspense.

Gi Jun, once the ace of the internal audit team, is now stuck handling petty office scandals—all thanks to his manager, In A. One day, he receives an anonymous tip: In A is involved in an inappropriate relationship at work. Digging into her secret for revenge, Gi Jun instead finds himself drawn to her. And as In A shares her secret with him, she begins to wonder whether Gi Jun might be the one person who can help her overcome her dark past and finally find happiness. An office romance quietly blossoms within the very duty meant to chase down office affairs and corruption.

They both talk about a mistaken murder suspect and law. Suspicious Partner is not as serious as Remember and SP is more entertaining but Remember is thrilling and intense to watch, in my opinion.

Both star Nam Ji Hyun
Both have cute MLs who have amazing chemistry with NJH
Both involve cohabitation
Both MLs get easily jealous

Can't say the stories are similar at all, but if you like NJH and are looking for a similar chemistry w/ a ML, I would check out Suspicious Partner

Even though both dramas contain different characters and different storylines, I find that the romance between them give off a similar vibe, as well as the main leads.
