I didn't really expect anything much from this movie, so it wasn't that bad for me. I understand why others do not like this kind of movie though. It is not everyone's cup of tea. The plot was a very Japanese cute rom-com style like Heroine Disqualified and many more others, so I kind of liked this!

Just like any other anime movie adaptations, I'd say this one did not disappoint! The plot line was not rushed, and the story clearly showed where it was headed to, so it wasn't confusing and was easy to watch that even if you haven't read the manga, you could easily follow through the plot line.

Overall, I had fun watching this movie. The actors did well in their roles, the acting was not cringey, and they were good looking too! The leads had great chemistry! and most importantly this movie had a good moral lesson.

I am a hardcore kpop and former anime fan, so I kind of relate to the movie where sometimes even though we have, and love our world of fandoms, we have to step out of this zone, interact with real people and live the reality, because this is how we expose ourselves, form friendships, and meet new people. Long lasting friendships are not only formed based on similar interests but through interaction.

I am not sure if I'm the only one of the reviews that have seen the anime, but, when I saw this, I jumped at the opportunity to watch it and was somewhat disappointed, and let me tell you why.

Although the main base of the story remains in line with the anime, the change of some things in the plotline, as well as the rushed/fast-paced storyline, ruins the story. Although the actors were extremely talented, this movie was a waste of said talent. There is a complete lack of character development, overuse of overly exaggerated expressions and reactions, and unnecessary scenes (I'm looking at you nonsense Halloween scene). Aside from that, there is no structure to the story. Something will happen and then it will jump cut into the next scene without any sort of explanation.

Some of the changes that they did make, however, I did like, such as Tsutsun's dad's involvement in his life and I did enjoy that so-called "fight scene", as well as the effects that they made to really incorporate anime into Tsutsun's life (in the anime, this was assumed to be his inner conscious) by having the character Ezomichi literally show up in front of him and having him talk to her, etc. This movie more or less can be described as "loosely based" as opposed to "solely based".

I think it was a bad idea to go into this movie soon after watching the anime. This is definitely one of those "adaptations" that should be watched without any prior knowledge of the storyline of the anime (or the manga). I think if I had seen it without any prior knowledge, it would have been more enjoyable than it should have been. Definitely a comedy instead of the touching romance with tons of character development that it should have been. Laughable at best with absolute zero rewatch value.

3D Kanojo: Real Girl has a story that it feels as if you have watched it somewhere before. It doesn't offer much of a surprise or a nice never seen before twist. It just follows the well known melodramatic love story. I did like the otaku theme, however, and how a lonely boy found friends and love. The couple, actually, had chemistry and they looked nice together. Though, after the five year time skip, all the characters looked the same and too childish to be grown ups. But that is I guess a minor misstep, concidaring that the movie was just so so. At least the CGI were nice.

This is probably one of the most boring movies I have seen in a while. I decided to check it out because the plot seemed somewhat interesting, but all I got was a lot of cringe and sleep-worthy moments.
I'm not the biggest fan of weak characters overall, but the main character in this movie couldn't function as a human being at all. The chemistry between the actors was nonexistent and this resulted in me skipping most of the scenes, trying not to fall asleep.
The only time I would suggest for someone to watch this, is when they have nothing else to watch and they are just looking for something to play as background noise while passing time.

- musique
- quelques clichés (triangle amoureux, cancer/amnésie, etc.)
mais très sympa à regarder.
