Overall very good movie.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. I first watched the movie on my flight to Shanghai and it made my day. I told my sister about this movie but I couldn't remember the name. This is when on the app I found it again! I just rewatched the movie again with her and she liked it. It's very funny and the story is presented quite well. The movie is not too sad so if your down and you want to laugh this movie is perfect for you! Overall the movie is hands down one of my favorite international movies i've seen. Was this review helpful to you?
I don’t know why the rating is not that high in imdb, because for me this movie is really touching. I have 5 friends too in high school and we still keep in touch until now, 16 years later (Shoot! I reveal my age! XD) Oh—correction—the 5 of us. The other 1 have her own path. Hm, quite similar with this movie.
Okay, this movie will show you the friendship and the jealousy. And since the setting is on 1990’s, I really enjoy watch this. Somehow I’m a bit annoyed with the attitude of young Nami, she’s too exaggerated in my opinion. But the old Nami did a great job. Although the ending of this movie is predictable, but still I cried in the end (ಥ﹏ಥ)
P.S. There’s a soundtrack of an old dorama Long Vacation and anime Rurouni Kenshin (^_^)

good mood and tone
Sunny Our Heart Beat Together is a girly friendship Japanese movie by Genki Kawamura, who is also the director of Your Name (2016). This movie is about a 90s high school friend group named "Sunny," which used to spend their teenage years together. Until 22 years later, each of them was grown up and facing adult problems for themselves. One day, one of the members, Nami, runs into another Sunny member, Serika. But, she has been ill because she has cancer, which has no cure. Serika told Nami that she wanted to reunite with Sunny before she died. Then, Nami is trying to do everything to make Sunny come together again. They did very well in the part that can make the audience deep down with their relationship. And, the scene of the movie is cut back of forth between the part of past and past of present making the audience not bored. Moreover, mood and tone obviously show the difference between the colorful life of a high school girl and the dark life of an adult woman. In the past part, there are also some scenes that use song to be the main theme of that part, like it’s a musical movie. For me, it caught my attention and made teenage life more wonderful. Many scenes are lighthearted. On the other hand, there are also many scenes of gloom. It made this movie do very well in contrasting bitter and sweet. Good combination.

Sunday Matinee Vibes
I love this story of girlfriends, friendships losing it and yourself and finding both again. Another great cast and both leads are great I love Shinohara Ryoko and I look forward to see the rest of her tv shows and movies. I loved Yuka Itaya as well and the young actresses who played their counter parts. Loved the scene where they got revenge for Yuko and I LMAO at the scene where Nami has beer for the first time. There are a few slight changes from the Korean version and I like the Korean version better but all in all a really good movie. I cried at the ending like I did at the end of the Korean version.

However, I've found the current story a bit messy and not as well presented. But, the ending was nice and I liked how they added that dancing part in the end, which wasn't shown in the movie.
I need to add here that I haven't yet watched the korean movie, so I don't know if this one was better than the original.
So, overall, six out of ten.
