This movie is just what you need on a cold rainy day. It’s warm, light and heartwarming like a soft fluffy pillow you want to hug, and you’ll feel good.
Some think the female lead Sumaru is a bit over the top and thus annoying. I think she’s funny and just real. It’s her innocence and naivety. She’s refreshing if you’re a bit reserved or surrounded by people who are too self-conscious or scared to show tneir real selves. She loves and she wasn’t afraid to show it. Wouldn’t it be good to be like her, without fear and reservation. But alas, most of us are jaded and scared due to our life experiences. She meets things and situations head on, even if she knew it might hurt her. Yes, she’s a bit all over the place, but that’s what made her funny and endearing. She’s just what Mr Hirotmitsu/sensei ( the male lead) needed.

Sensei is a mathematician. He loves Math. Math is rigid, structured, consistent, driven by logic. Some find it difficult, boring or mundane. Yet Math brings order to chaos. And here is how the Sumaru and Mr. Hiromitsu compliment each other.

She brought unpredictability into his structured world and made him laugh. Her honesty and courage inspired him to face the things he was running from. And for all her naivety, she was mature enough to encourage him to face his fears and go back to France to finish his studies.

Whilst he taught her to focus on things she wants to do. When she thought she has no chance to gain his love, she still didn’t give up. She did cry a bit. He taught her the realities of adulthood. That we may not always get what we want no matter how much effort we put into it. And that if we love someone, we shouldn’t be selfish. That we should let the other one grow and not be held back by our love.

I probably made it sound like it’s a deep movie with profound or life-changing lessons. No, it’s not. It was meant to entertain.

I felt the last part was a bit lacking, not because there was no proper kiss. I wasn’t expecting one anyway. I like this taboo student-teacher genre but I still think it wasn’t right for him to kiss a previous student in the school.

I gave it 9, because it made me giggle and laugh, a lot. And I liked the heroine. She’s fresh, funny and brave. Her and sensei gave me the warm fuzzy feelings. Definitely will watch it again.

This movie was definitely not one of the best ones I've seen. It had a good idea, but the way it was executed felt incomplete and there really wasn't anything, besides the eye candy male lead, to catch my attention.
During the whole movie I was annoyed by the female lead's acting. It felt as if all she was doing was being loud and annoying. I have never wanted to stick a sock in an actress's mouth before, for her to shut up, but this movie honestly made me want to do that.
The whole movie was saved by the ending, which was actually enjoyable and ended up redeeming for half of the stuff that had happened. If it hadn't been for this sweet ending I would've given this a 5.

honestly the concept is cute, a teacher giving advice to a love-obsessed student. but the main actress is really doing TOO MUCH. i haven't been so annoyed by a character purely based of acting. and the sad part is that she's totally capable of doing serious and fun scenes, the director just chose to have her overact and add all these unnecessary comical elements to the story. the personality of the character is good enough on its own, but the overacting is just too much and cringy.

there's plenty of good romantic dramas out there that are funny and a little absurd, see "My Sassy Girl" where the main girl is pretty weird and crazy and gets into strange situations, but it is still realistic and entertaining to watch. her male friend is a good level of natural acting, although I have no idea why he's dressed differently (no school uniform) and has dyed hair, it's reminiscent of how animes or mangas have characters with unique hair colors to distinguish them from the rest, but it doesn't work well in real life dramas. the female friend is a good character but also way too over acted, she's quirky on her own but the acting is unnecessary.

overall, i thought this drama could have been fun, because there's so many female-oriented dramas that have the heroine be really conservative and unaware of any romantic advances, borderline socially-inept. but the main character in this movie is very love-sick, a realistic trait for a high schooler and a unique look at high school relationships. her visuals is great but the way she distorts her face while acting just makes no sense and doesn't reflect the tone of the drama. i would recommend this drama only if you just want to see ryoma takeuchi and even then, you really have to stick it out through the main female's acting. ryoma does a good job though, and his character is very normal/ordinary, a strange contrast to the heroine's overacting.

This was one of the inflight movies offered by the airline, I first picked a Korean movie, but got bored and switched to this one thinking that this will be a better option but no worse.

For one second I thought they have done spin off version of Itazura Kiss, because the main girl reminded me of Kokoto, she was as annoying as Kokoto.

A school girl falls in love with a guy and the next day she learns that he's her teacher.

She keeps chasing her teacher etc etc..

She was like a puppy chasing the teacher, she has a friend who's also in love with her but she doesn't notice this, she thinks him as a good friend. ( I actually find him more handsome than the teacher in the movie)

Through the end teacher's ex gf comes to school as a teacher, she wants him back etc etc.

But it's a happy ending so, got no right to complain

For some reason I just can't get used to Jap movies / dramas, either my choices were wrong or something else, I love Japanese people, my best friend is Japanese but I just don't enjoy Jap TV as much as I enjoy watching K, CN, TW & Thai Tv.

I hope one day I'll find a nice Jap drama and start enjoying.

Cute but....

Don't get me wrong, I love Minami but her acting here stresses me out. I feel like it is too much for me, to the point that I just want the movie to end already to know how they will end up together. Also, I wonder why the teacher acts as if he is not the older one. When Minami shouts at him or makes some gestures, he never talks back like an older figure. I mean, he does talk back but not in a way that would make Minami stop and avoid him. Overall, it was cute and light, but kind of embarrassing sometimes. I think I would like it more if Minami didn't overreact or say some cheesy things when she's with her teacher.

To be honest, I only picked up on this because TWICE did the Outro Tune. However the trailer looked like a bit of High School fun.

First thoughts were that some of the pupils were well into their twenties, especially Kotake. It doesn't help if the Teacher looks the same age as the class.

Secondly it just rang a little false. Sensei broke all kinds of rules by taking a schoolgirl on a trip and back to his pad. He could tell she fancied him and should have run a mile. Mind you , the film would have been ten minutes long!

Thirdly the lead actress overplayed shamelessly.

A bit of a let down.

FL overacting ruins the whole thing

Thumbs down.
The FL overacted too much. I was distracted by the way she moves her mouth in an exaggerated manner, her over expressed immaturity, the overly cutesy way she tries to behave, her loud voice and generally, last but not least, the character's stupidity.

I don't know who's idea it was to have the female lead act this way, but she definitely does not match the very serious male lead character, and in fact, she ruins the viewing experience. This is one case of Japanese entertainment falling far short... again.

THis

E isso me passou algo bem legal.
