Wow

By Hollywood standards Weir Sukollawat Kanarot should get an oscar for this one because wow! I had to watch this 3 times to fully absorb it, after finding it which wasn't easy. Seeing Weir, who's as straight as they come play gay, traumatized by death and a monk shows his depth and range as an actor. I didn't watch this as a regular viewer or fan I watched it with a director's eye. I would cast him in anything. The camera were was good too. Clearly Weir has integrity and dignity by refusing to do any nudity. I'd also read that they used "hand talent " for his character and that Weir found it harder to play a monk than to play gay which I found interesting. The bai sri were lovely and the work that goes into making one amazing. This story was both interesting yet sad.

If you are looking for a sweet boy love story, this isn't it. Turn away now if you are looking for Love Sick, Make it Right, SOTUS, or anything like that.

This is a love story, but there are many sad parts to go along with the love. In fact, the whole movie is a bit bittersweet, but that was OK. What I didn't like was the gory parts in the end. I guess it was the point of the movie, and is very dramatic about how they go about expressing it. This movie is definitely what I would call R rated, or at least meant for a mature audience as the saying goes. Don't eat dinner when watching this, and don't watch if you have a weak stomach.

The cinematic performance and directing was fine. I can find almost no faults in that. The music was appropriate, and gave feeling to the story. The story was a little hard to follow at the end, but I guess it makes sense if you think about it more as a broader theme rather than the exact actions going on.

This movie just wasn't my thing, I prefer a little more positive or happy spin in my shows and movies, and this was a bit depressing or even disturbing depending upon how you look at it. That is the reason for my low overall rating, and rewatch rating. This probably would probably win awards at a film festival, but sorry to say, I won't watch this again.

Great production and acting. A sad story with poor plot.

Overall, the production was impeccable. The "Bai Sri" is very beautiful and creative. Beautiful scenery and camera shots.

Too little details about the characters and their background. It is essential for a good movie to make the viewer empathize with the characters and create a deeper connection between them. It truly makes me sad that it was so well produced but failed on such a vital part.

Could give more character background otherwise it should be shorter. No need to have a movie 90mins long when it never really gives any details at all.

Even with a lacking story, the acting was still powerful with some memorable scenes. The emotions that the actors are trying to portray are succefully delivered.

The ending is a bit gross and sad. It's also left kinda open ended which is ok.

Also the name of the main characters was mentioned very few times and it never stuck to me...

I loved the BL parts. They were strong... But it could've been better if the characters were developed more...

Would rewatch only for the good production, the powerful acting and the few but very strong BL parts. Character development and story plot needs more work.

It's a very different movie.
He is completely different than most.
It is Thai, where the Thai branch of Buddhism predominates.
It is necessary to look at him from this point of view and not to evaluate only through the eyes of a Central European viewer. Why is the scene like that, why are the actors playing it like that, why is the film pensive, poignant almost from the beginning.
The content of the film is very well described on ČSFD, be sure to read it before watching the film.

When the viewer is able to put all this together, he cannot make a bad assessment. It is a film about images, about feelings, about LIFE. It is a film whose message will remain forever in my soul...
